Sophies diary

Morning Sophie, that soup diet sounds good, GOOD LUCK!! Are you going to get your hair cut short?? What color are you going for?? I'm sure it will look CUTE! It's so nice to reward yourself. I have 10 lbs to go before I do that, I hope I make it in the next few weeks. I've stayed steady for the past week, so I"m a little bumed, but I know it's that time of the month, so I'm not going to let it get to me to much! Well, gotta run I have a lot to do today. You have a good one. Chat at you later! :)

heya kim - im not doin the soup thing - well not yet anyway.i were just recomending it to cerella to get her into onederland.
nahh.. not short short.. i like it long but i want it more choppy again - my layers have grown out and my fringe is no longer a fringe as it is nealy the same length as the rest of my hair so it is permananelty pinned up with curbie grips.
i'll probbaly just hav a little bit of blonde put through it to lighten it up.
ohh ten pounds - you'll have done that by beginning/mid june definitely!! y6ou'll have to choose yourself a reward :D

howdy cannon - these damn tonsils should have been cut out years ago. i get tonsilitis at least 3 times a year and have done since i was about 5. pain in the ass though - got my french speaking exam in a week. lets hope ive got some voice left.

venting time

so.
my maths exam is on the 21st may. not very long to go.i have revised very hard already - on the topics that we have studied. unfortunately our maths teacher decided not to bother doing any lesson planning as he obviously could not be assed to get over his lazy backside and do it even for 6th formers. this means that we just started at the beginning of the course text book and drifted through it page by page. i was udner the illusion that he had planned it out and we would finish the course what with the hardest sections of the course in the last few chapters. so. we are half way through the text book. that has taken us since the start of january. my exam is in 13days. i actually do not believe i am going to pass my maths examination. i have spent about £200-£300 of my personal savings (hey thats about \a years wage for me) on maths tutoring but have limited time (TUTORING COSTS ME 50£ FOR AN HR AND A HALF!!)
i have been to lunchtime revision sessions but these are also limited to me as i am studying at three different colleges and am all over the place.
i am actually starting to panic. this isnt fair. this man has actually jeapordised my future by not doing his planning. if i fail this exam i cant do the course i want to do at university. there isnt actually any way i am going to be able to do half the course on my own by two weeks. i am gonna give it my best shot. i am out of cash now so cannot have any more tutoring. so much for free education

Don't stress!! You can only do your best...and I'm sure you'll do fine, it sounds like you're working hard...and I'm sure it will pay off :D

Sophie, after your exam, I hope you complain bitterly to the administration. After all, you are the Customer. It is their job to satisfy you, and if they don't they should remedy the situation.

i would sue the dork. Just like any other business, you pay for something, you expect to get it!
I mean if you went to McDs and asked for and paid for a Big Mac Combo, and they came out with the fries and a coke but no burger, wouldnt you complain and bitch ? :D
Okay, perhaps i shouldnt have used McDs as an example lol ... :D

Dont worry Sophie, it'll work out. You'll pass the test at some point and you'll get into your program. But I really dont blame you for being pissed at this idiot teaching the course. What is wrong with this guy??!!! But you do come across as a very ambitious girl so I have full confidence that you'll prevail in the end!

well my registration tutor is head ot the mats department and he already knows i am very unhappy with the teacher. i went to him last week to ask him for some help with the work as hes a very good teacher. he was in shock because his group (who are doing the same course but at a different time) have finished the text book, done a mock exam and are now going through revision sessions IN CLASS. damn i wish i was in that class.

i think basically he didnt go to uni to be a teacher - he went to be an accountant under a cloud of diillusion - hated it and then had to turn to teching to pay the bills. i dont think he really gives a monkey which is quite sad.

Hi Soph, I understand the panicy feeling you have right now, I actually had a similar situation with biology a2. I would complain, after the exam, but for now, you just gotta do as much as poss, learn as much as poss, learn about the exam so you won't waste time learning stuff you won't be asked on, and if worst comes to worst, I think you said these were your ASs? Does that mean you could retake if needs be?

I had a teacher that was pretty close to the worst prof in the history of time, showed up late to class, never proof read her handouts/tests etc...it was just BAD in general...and sadly complaining got me nowhere...they basically ignored it (about 20 people complained about her).

Sooo...if you don't get anywhere, grin and bear it ;) Sorry to hear that there are more teachers out there that suck big time...

Keep a positive attitude :D

Hi Sophie; I noticed you used the word 'blimming' in T2's diary.

I LOVE "blimming"...I'm gonna use that from now on. I always like to add more words to my lexicon. :D
I have an english friend who said "oh, he's an awkward so-and-so" and it made me laugh. I think the english have such a better command of the language. English authors are my favorite, John Wyndham, C.S. Lewis, Kate Atkinson, of course J.K. Rowling, Roald Dahl, and Will Self, to name a few.

I remember having good profs, not-so-good profs and down right nut-bars when I was getting my degree. It'll all be over soon and you won't ever have to see this one again. I'm looking forward to reading more of your diary soon. Take care!

:D i loved roald dahl - and still do!
thanks for the support guys - im gonna grin and bear itand just do the best job i can.
so after a pants eating day yesterday where i overdid it with the sugar and with food in general i am pleased to see that i am still between 119-120 lbs.
maintaining. but not losing.

haha definitely :)
well today im still not feeling very well. i came home from school early and just slept for about 4 hours. im feeling quite a lot better but im not going swimming training tonight as my parents dont think thats its a very good idea if im poorly.
i have eaten quite a lot today but it has all been fruit apart from the bran flakes i had for breakfast and the honey sandwich i had at lunchtime. so its been healthy.
i need to top up my fluid levels though. i really want to feel better asap.

Morning Sophie!! I hope you feel better real soon. YES, YES drink those fluids that is something you must have! I think your working yourself so hard doing the running in the mountains may have done you in. :) But, keep your chin up, and keep eating well and you should be up and running in no time!! I'll check in with you later. ;)
~hugs~
Kim
