Hi lazy

Slow and steady seems to be my motto as well. I have been on my eat better and exercise more plan since February and I have lost a total of 17 lbs. It is very very slow but I haven't gained any back. From what I have gathered the slower you lose the better it is for skin. I don't know how much you have to lose but anyone here will pretty much say the slower the better.

I too like the eggbeaters. I pretty much don't really find much difference in taste but in calories. You are doing wonderful.
 
Great going Lazyone (please let me know of a better name to call you!!:D ). I am so glad you are feeling better, and it is fab to see that ticker moving. I'll be watching .... ;) :D
 
egg beaters are the greatest invention ever, especially those flavored ones!

Thanks everyone. I had a nice night with my hubby last night spending time together. :) BUT....we went to a restaurant to eat so it was a bad day for calories. I think I ended up eating like 2000 cals yesterday and I ate only half of one of the lower cal dishes they had. Restaurants are just horrible!!
Well this is going to be the trend for the whole weekend I'm sure. The whole weekend I'm just going to pick the lowest cal things at the party or where ever we go and eat half, hopefully I'll come back without much gain or none. :rolleyes:

Today will be my last normal day. I'm going to exercise and eat low cals to help make up for the weekend. :D

I'm glad for the support on here. I will be on here Wednesday morning when I get back to make sure I get back on track for exercise, its going to suck after 4 days with no exercise :p.

Stay Positive and keep your head up!!!! You have got the right idea.. Just a little of everything won't hurt ya. Have a GREAT Day and don't forget to drink your WATER:D
 
Hey Alicia! Have fun this weekend and don't let 'dieting' spoil it. You can make up for a bit of indulgence by being more strict just before and just after it. And when you eat out, make sure you have something you like, rather than what is the 'healthiest'.

Darn that JB ... swig ... and this drinking game :D

Well I'm doing pretty good so far today. :)
Already got my exercise in, I think I'm up to 700 cals already but I just had to have that smoothie :p. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll try not to drink and eat too much and get in a couple walks. :rolleyes: Thanks all of you. Its great having friends that understand all the things you go through when you're trying to lose weight. :D
 
OK everyone since I'm horrible at strength training (I do about 15 min upper body 2x a week :eek:) I added it to my sig. I'm not really sure how much I'm even supposed to be doing but I figure 20 min 3x a week is a good start. Let me know if anyone knows how much I should be doing and should it be like half upper and half lower body or what? I have huge arms (12in around :() that I hate so I'd hate to make them bigger. :rolleyes: also, I have 5 lb weights and 8 lbs, I can barely do anything upper body with the 8s. thanks for the help in advance.
 
Hey Alicia. I'm no expert but this is what I know. Being a woman your body muscles will not get too big, and weight training will actually get rid of fat in those areas. If you work out every other day, it is a good idea to work your whole body, but if you work out every day, you should alternate the areas that you work. Also you should use weights that you can do the movements smoothly and slowly with, and do 8-15 reps (that is going by the instructions I got with my weights) and I do it until I can feel a gentle burn. As you get stronger, you will have to do more reps to get that same burn.

Well I had a great weekend and 4th and all that but as for the eating and drinking can't say it was so great. I figure I'm here now so I can just go from here. I gained at least a pound over the weekend, proved yet again why alcohol is bad for you in more ways than one. :rolleyes:

Wish me luck on a good day, have to jump right in to exercise and everything. The laziness is already creepin...:p

Only kidding .... I am sure you are going to get right back into the swing of things now that the weekend is over. You know how good it feels and how great it is at the end of the week when you have lost weight. Keep up the good work and lets see that ticker get moving ;)

Hi, Alicia! Just stopping by to see how your week is going. I agree with the advice Mrs Bear gave you on using weights. I just began strength exercising, too, and I pretty much started at the beginning with 1-pound weights. My muscles are so weak, so I'm hoping to increase the poundage as I go along. I do my exercises every other day, and I do exercises for all parts of my body during my routine. I'm up to 2 sets of 15 repetitions each now. After I get up to 2 sets of 20 reps, I'll go up in pounds on the weights and work up in reps again. I'm hoping that this will help tone me as I lose weight. I have so much to lose that I don't want sagging skin to be left after I reach my goal.

Hi everyone. thanks for dropping by.
I've been really busy. The fam I work for had a flood and they had alot of repairing to do so I had alot of extra time with the kids. :D I've been exhausted!
Anyway I'm back I haven't been a good girl eating but I haven't gained weight just sat at this weight so I'm just going to start back up with my exercise which I've already done today :p. After coming back from my little trip and then being extra busy with all the little ones I only exercised 2 days last week. Over the weekend we ate out a few times so I'm sure I ate too many cals also. Well anyway enough bad news I'll be back on here later, I should have a decent cal day compared to the last couple days. ;)
Hopefully the laziness doesn't keep creeping. Over a week off isn't helping any :rolleyes:

gilly-I know about the sagging skin, I think it will help. I just wish there was something I could do for my baby belly, I don't think crunches are going to help that skin :(
 
Well done for maintaining Alicia!!! Now you can get back on the diet and exercise wagon, but not have to back track and lose the same weight again. Way to go ;)
 
Ok here I am again. Yesterday wasn't so bad eventhough we had ice cream I managed to keep it around 1700. I know not that good but I did exercise and it is my TOM which is the worst time for me and this food thing. I think I would've been closer to 3000 cals before I started this whole thing so atleast I can say its better than that :rolleyes: .
Today we are going out to eat with some friends but since I knew yesterday, I've made sure not to eat too much before dinner time. I'm up to 300 cals so the rest will come from whatever I eat at the restaurant. I think I can manage not to eat more than 1200 cals there ;). hopefully....:p
My back is killing me from yesterdays strength training thingy. I swear I'm a 25 year old grandma. Only 20 min of light weights and I've already hurt myself. :eek: Hopefully tomorrow when I have to do it again I will be alright.
K well I guess I'll be back later to report my outting. :D
