Hmmm, interesting. I should try that site, see what they recommend for me. To me, its pretty much impossible to have the same amount of calories every day, because you vary what you eat (unless you're eating the same things all the time). So some days are naturally heavier then others. I don't think that you need to be so particular as to actually follow a different caloric allowance for each day... Just my 2 cents...

As for water, you're absolutely right, if you drink less water then you're used to, your body will retain water! It happens to me all the time. Good exerpt on water!

You're doing great! Let us know how the wedding dress fitting went!

yes, i agree that it is pretty much imposisble to have the same amount of calories every day (other than when i stayed perfectly on paula's diet) but it was enlightening, if you will, to see the range that i can be between for a loss of some kind....eventually. it stinks being a 'slow loser'. ugh. one of those bad cards. anyways, went to the dressfitter for my wedding and they hadn't even done anything to the dress?! It was odd. yes, when i went in for the first fitting, they meaured me 10 inches different than the time before :D but apparently they didnt want to take in so much and do so much work until they saw me a month later b/c either they thought i'd lose more or more likely i think they thought that i'd gain it back. regardless, it was a strange experience but one that made me realize 25 lbs is a lot of weight to lose and even if i dont get to 125 EVER, i'm being healthy and trying, feel like i am doing the best that i can given the circumstances, withiin a 'healthy range' per my doctor and my self esteem is up...my inches are down..i'm back to my size 4.i feel comfortable again. yes, i want a cushion. who doesnt want a cushion? but i cant remember being healthy happy and 125 so that would be cool but truthfully, i dont remember being a healthy happy 135'er and i am that now. pretty sweet. lots of hard work and lots learned and to be learned along the way. a definite lifestyle change. it sure was worth all the frustration and hard work and meeting everyone with similiar challenges to learn from each other and get to the final goal which is healthy and happy. are you? what will it take for you to fell healthy and happy and what are the steps you will take starting today to get there. is it worth it? yes. i never knew.

so, yes, the fittting went well...i've learned a lot the past 1/2 year. whoa. it is all about changing the way you view things and changing the way you live. a lifestyle change. it is not simple but it does make sense.

Your doing totally awesome, and like you say- happy and healthy, thtas terrific! I couldn't agree more, but I still have a ways to get there...lol...
have a great day tomrorow!

Skyler, you're doing awesome!

That is really strange about the fitting. Maybe they were cautious... If you take in 10 inches on the dress, there's no way in hell to increase it if it is a bit too snug, or maybe they just did not get to it...

I am very happy for you! You're doing great! You are definitely an inspiration! We are the same weight now, but I definitely have more to go, b/c I can see all the floppy fat still there, although less then before ;) I think its ok that we're loosing slowly. As long as we are loosing, that's fine. They say that weight loss is more likely to be permanent if you loose it slowly, so that's good news for me! ;) Overall, it is a lifestyle change.

So, let's continue on this road until it brings us to the end, wherever and whenever that might be! :)

ahh, yes, ntl, we are on the same track....for now at least...you seem to get that 4 lb drop all the sudden ;)...

anyways, yesterday calories were 1430 so i'm happy with that as it was my "high day". not much else to report...my cough is still hanging in but i think i am on the 'upswing' of feeling better..i hope so..

the dress...it wasnt that they didnt have time, they were truly worried that i'd gain some back b/c they knew the difference and are this boutique that said that they HATE to take it back out again b/c you can see the needle point holes of getting the material back out...so, whatever..that's fine...knew i had to go back again and i still LOVE IT! :)

Hey Girl Your Rocking I Am So Proud Of You And You Are Going To Do This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I don't know if you have this info, but knowing that you love sushi just as me I thought I'd share... I found this nutrition info for sushi: . You have to look at the menu to see the size of each pack, but their rolls basically range between 12 and 16 per pack...

today was good. still working on getting my water intake up back to where it was but i hadnt been exercisign so i think that is why the slowdown. just have to keep it top of mind..calories were at 1170 and pilates was awesome.
some more water and vitamins & i'm good today...and an even better plus, i am definitely on the 'upswing' of my cough/cold so thats good too.

Yeah, I am glad you're feeling better! You need to keep drinking as much as you can. Its definitely harder to drink enough when you're not exercising.

As usual, looks like you've had a good day.

today was good. ending up at about 1400 calories. i just couldnt help the left over potato chips from my fiance. oy. not too bad, luckily he ate plenty of them already ! drank lots of water today. just ready a ton of articles on water and it gets you want to drink a LOT. its much easier. going back to the basics. anyways, have a great weekend. tomorrow is pilates and sunday i'm going to hopefully get on the elliptical and this cough will be GONE!!

next week i am going to do the middle column (or try). this week i did the first column so we'll see if i actually lose anything (even though i think it takes 2 weeks to see actual results from something like this, but not sure.

anybody know????

im sure everybody is different b/c of the fast vs. slow (me) losers..but they did ask questions about you before they give you the numbers ;). we'll see.

Losing weight fast

First of all, I watch what I eat. Not too many fatty foods but don't deprave yourself completly. I do cardio for about 20 minutes a day-jogging, taebo, and other work out tapes. And then on top of that I have found some supplements that really help with burning fat and curving my appettite. With all that I have lost 18 pounds in one month.

Herbalgirl

Yeah, it takes several weeks before body changes enough to show weight loss. Good luck! Let us know how it goes. The middle one is what I've been doing for a while now, and I've been loosing very slowly. Although to be honest, I probably had different pattern. Not sure if the pattern would matter though.

yeah, i dont know if the pattern matters or what...truthfully, i dont see how it could, but i dont know. i am having a hard time figuring out what my caloric intake should be...yes, i've been here before..but i eat 1200 calories regularly with a cheat day thrown in there and i lose 2-3 lbs/ month so i try to up the calories 1400-1450 and i lose nothing...i'm totally confused. the sites say based on my exercise expenditure, i should be eating around 1500 calories and losing....but that aint happening.i wonder if it is b/c i havent been consistent (been zigzagging from 1100-1400 for the past couple weeks...but again, have lost zero...

any insight would be awesome if anybody knows!

yesterday came in at 1100 calories, roughly, a little less....i wonder if i am really HOLDING onto the fat b/c of low calorie range..however, i do have those cheat days so i dont understand how my body would think i am starving (i'm certainly not)!!

time to step it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so i have one more month until my wedding and it is time for me to kick it up into HIGH GEAR.

For FOUR weeks anything is possible...i want to feel my very best on my wedding day and for the start of the rest of my life...

my plan:
*Eat 1400 calories per day staying low on the 'white' carbs
*No alcoholic beverages (other than one weekend i will be out of town at a best friends' wedding & i just know that will not happen)
*Cardio - elliptical or running on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays - try a new cardio one day/week and change duration and intensity incorporating HIIT
*Pilates - Mondays and Thursdays
*Weight Training - arm/pushup exercises every day & crunches on a swiss ball
*Total body weight training - i get a lot through pilates but add in ONE WEEKEND DAY
*Tuesdays are my new day OFF
*a minimum 65 oz of water / day
*Walk the dogs!! this is an extra 20 minutes per evening if i add it in - burning an extra 100 calories roughly which is an extra 700 calories burned per week! duh!!!! just do it!! (me talking to myself, yes)
*Take vitamins - calcium 2ce a day and 1 multivitamin
*Get plenty of rest - sleep helps your muscles repair
*Protein powder every day

anybody think of anything i am missing??????????????????????????????

....this is for real....time to step it up!!

Looks Good And Sounds Good To Me Lets Rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skyler,

Sounds like a good plan.
You may have already this in mind, but here are my thoughts:
Add different type of aerobic exercise. Your body is way used to eliptical, and depending on how often you run, it may be used to running as well. One day a week, instead of elliptical/running do a completely different exercise - play tennis, do jumping jacks or jumping rope (that one burns tons of calories!), or biking, or some other activity. As far as strength training is concerned, also vary it up on Monday. Try different machines/different exercises then what you've been doing in the past.
And if you're doing eliptical/running, make sure you do HITT training.

I am starting to think, based on my own experiences, that as your body gets used to certain type of exercise, it becomes more efficient at doing it thus burning less calories. So, it is possible, that you may not be burning as much as you think you are... Its just my theory...

And don't forget to take protein powder...

Hope this helps...
