Skyler's new diary

Ah that sounds nuts Skyler.. I wish ya the best of luck making those smart decisions!! :) I am sure you can do it!

Sorry to hear about the dog!! :( My parents dog has done that to us.. more times than I can count. The thing is he's a talented escape artist. He's a beagle, that is too smart for his own good and he can leap vertically several feet! My parents gate them in the kitchen, and if he is left alone he leaps over the gate and will open up the screened door to the outside, he knows how to push it just enough to get it open! What a beast..! Hope to hear someone has called you soon about the doggy!

hey.. as for being stuck at 143lbs. . check out my post I had in my thread about revisions w/ my trainer and targeting your target heart rate zone!! I think that might help get you off your plateau!! :D

can you believe it?

who knows if it has been stress over the loss of my dog (which we found, thank goodness after 26 hrs - poor, stupid thing!) or what, I am not questioning it but, are you ready for this? Newleaf - time to dance...I lost 1.5 lbs!!!!!!!!!!! This is the first budge I have seen since new years. Thank goodness. Things are looking up (or down, he he he :p ).

So, yes, we found the dog after two days of misery. My trip to chicago was good, had scrambled eggs before I left (at 4.30am) and then a salad with tuna for lunch - not sure on the salad dressing, i'm sure it was very high calorie but didn't have much choice there and it wasn't loaded on), and dinner very late, but i waited til i got home and had shrimp and veggies with a snack of goat cheese/bagel chips (i couldn't resist, i have a sweet spot for cheese).

I weighed in today - Thursday is officially my new weigh in day - and yup - 141.5. :D

NL - I am going to check your post to see about what your trainer helped you with....thanks. dance away, you may lose a little yourself!

ugh. i have not been good today with food. not bad choices, just not enough. i've been so busy. i had good intentions and brought a yogurt with me for breakfast and forgot to eat it, so i got a salad for lunch with tofu and chickpeas and now it is almost time to go! my goodness. that is like 300 calories all day....i hate packing it into a dinner but i have pilates tonight as well and that would be like zero calories for the day (exaggeration) soooo, gonna have to eat more tonight. I refuse to starve! :) Not that I am hungry, which is odd, but still, that is not healthy as we all know...i 'm going to go try to scrounge up and apple from a co-worker ;).
later....S

Hi, Skyler! Don't worry, some days are just "not hungry" days. I had one like that yesterday, when I was not even hungry for dinner, but I made myself eat soup. And some days you'll want to eat everything in sight. I think its fine if you have a low day every now and then if you really don't feel like eating, but make sure they are not repeated close together, that's all. Plus, after Pilates you will probably be really hungry!

Keep on going girl, you're doing it!

morning skyler!

I hear you about not getting enough sometimes. Whoda thunk it? Although I think that may have always been the case for a lot of us...cant eat at certain times, and then making up for it when we can.

Hope so much your losing streak continues. Have a great weekend
!

here we go.....so, last night, i really wanted to make sure i had enough calories, but also be careful and not go over the top...anywho, i ate cheese enchiladas from trader joes (at least you know what is in them!)....and still came up at a low caloric range. Pilates was great.

this morning, i dont know if it is torture to see if those 1.5 lbs was for real or if they came back or what, but yes, I stepped on the scale again! Two days in a row. I think that is some sick torture ;). Anyways, I lost another 0.5 lbs. That is 2 lbs in one week. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D What a week for me. I am so excited, I am now dancing.

I'll check back in a little...

do you ever get that afternoon "crash"? i always thought it was because the wrong foods were eaten or something of the sort, but I feel like I am crashing and don't know what to eat...i need some energy.

so far today...yogurt smoothie, tomato basil soup, 1 tuna sushi roll

i just got a diet coke. havent had one in a while...

will pretzels be a terrible thing to do?? or a kashi bar? or more water? What do you think is best?

thanks....

protein and or coffee...i think its your blood sugar...also i read, weird i know, that pickles before a meal help regulate the blood sugar as well..who knows?

seriously, jerky, protein bars, are not going to spike the blood sugar the way carbs will. but do a pickle if ya do pick a carb.

that is interesting. i LOVE pickles, but they aren't at work. Must rethink that...;). thanks kate. i know carbs dont do the trick. protein and coffee makes a lot of sense. maybe i need some kind of protein to stick in my drawer. anybody have any other suggestions other than jerky? (not my favorite). thanks!!

Hi, Skyler! Congrats on another 0.5 lb! Whoo-hoo! Your work is paying off girl!

If you have fridge at work, you can stock up on low fat cottage cheese. I found it helps to even out those crashes, and keeps me full for longer. I also do Healthy Choice frozen dinners (oriental style), and they seem to keep me very even too. Protein bars help. Also, cereals full of fiber, like fiber one or Kashi ones. When I feel like I need a pick me up, I eat a handfull of them, and that keeps me going, because fiber fills up the stomack and helps with slower release of sugar to blood.

I always had crashes after lunch, and now they are not as bad, but I can still feel down for a bit.
