SkinnyKate's Diary

Hi Kate! I have to check in here every once in a while just so you can make me laugh! You know, about the pickle thing. There is definitely something to it. I found that I tend to get "munchies" while driving the afternoon bus route. If I eat a pickle (sour or dill) before I go, I don't get that feeling and make it through the route and come home to make dinner with no problems! I don't know what it is and I don't care, as long as it works!!! How's the monster Hill?

Yep, I'm just trying to catch up with you! Since we are the same height, and shooting for similar weights (FH already thinks my 125 goal is TOO low! lol) I'm trying to catch up to your loss. HEHE :)

well cmon girl! catch me if u can!:p

125 is good for some this height bad for others...I dunno, I havent been 120 since I was a teen, so who knows, it may be too gaunt a look.

But Im still shootin for it!

Oh yeah girl you are ON!! :) I'm inching closer!!

Well I weighed 124, years back when I was aerobics(sp) obsessed and my mom confessed to me years later, she always thought I was looking a little too thin at that weight. But I remember how great things fit, and how fit I felt. :) Man I even had a few size 4's!! :D but, really I think about it and I think, if I can wear a size 6 pant, regularly, I'd be happy. But I do confess I am naturally built larger than most. I'll never be described as "petite", more like a "slimmer line backer"!

Good to know that Im not the only to notice the "power of pickle' :D

Killer Hill laughed at me today. I have to go off my usual route to get to him, but I figured, that sometime this week Id go 'whoop his azzz"

Laugh at ME , will ya. stupid dumb hill.

Hi Kate! :) Pickle power!! Its great - especially those spicy little suckers! LOL I am a glutton for punishment - I eat 'em all the time, usually a few at a time :D

You are doing GREAT!!!! Congrats on the 10! I know you will kick Killer Hill where it hurts - in the hump!!! :D Keep it up :)

thanks BizeB!

I need some help now. I wasnt sure where to post it, and figured might as well post it here...

Something not so good happened today. I got bored with my food. I need something different. tuna, chicken, turkey, its all gettin to me. Im losin my 'want to'...if i dont hurry and find a little shake up in my diet. I need something low cal, and delicious...

ANY and every suggestion is needed. HELP!!!!!

My standard is whole wheat bread or roll with laughing cow cheese. I feel French when I eat it. I take a bite of bread and a bite of cheese no spreading here !!! Laughing Cow cheese is 35 cal a wedge.

Other things.... pudding, apple sauce, look for some beans for protein. I tell my hubby I am in "training" so I dont cook much. Cant give you too much help there except for to look up low cal receipes on the internet.

Good luck SKinny Kate. Hang in there. You are doing great. !!

BEANS! i KNEW something was missing! I eat ref. beans, but no one can beat my lemon pepper and maple bacon pinto beans! Thanks!

Excellent Kate!!! Personally I am unable to give up my beef! I have started making sure that I use only extremely lean beef and then I trim it completely when I get it home! I know this is gonna probably sound weird but if you have a store near you that sells "special" meats, alligator is pretty much the best you can get all around. Tastes pretty good too! Somewhere in my old diary is the nutrtion info on it. I'll see if I can find it!@ Ok, I found it!

** Negligible levels.

When compared to other meats, alligator is low in fat and calories and high in protein. Alligator is low in saturated fatty acids and high in monounsaturated fatty acids. Saturated fatty acids cause increased cholesterol levels in the body while monounsaturated fatty acids are credited with decreasing cholesterol levels. This mix of fat types represents a correct balance from a dietary standpoint.

Way to go Kate!!! :D :D Keep up the good work!!!

"new" food Ideas..... have you tried Tilapia?? It's a firm, white fish that has a cod-like flavor. I like to dip it in egg whites, then stuffing that I process into fine crumbs, and bake. I like to serve it with lemon "rice" (its Kashi 7 grain pilaf) and a salad or roasted veggies... Also , as Bailey said, beans :D Bean tacos are good (my kids look at them funny, but they eat more than one so I guess they like 'em:) ). Jell-o is my fave "treat" - I can eat the whole box myself and not damage my calories too badly :D

Hope it helps w/ the food boredom :) ....

Well of all the things....a reptile diet. some cold blooded vermin. Perhaps theres a specialty shop where I can not only get my "ally" meat, but if I bring my own, I could get matching purse and boots!

No kiddin! I guess I never thought Texas had it! Ill call around and see what we have, tho Id probably have to go to Austin for it. Actually it probably tastes like chicken, dont it?:D

Hell Ill try ANYTHING once! I tried octopus once, and ONLY once....And once I did snails. It was like eating oily erasers...I dunno, I just dont like anything slimier than the inside of my own nose. bleck!

Ok now that Kashi Ive seen and would love to try...isnt it Indian as in India, Indian? Ok Im gonna try it. I love lemon.

What I WISH I could get as far as fish goes(tho I will look for the Tilapia) is some smoked salmon from my friends in the north! My aunt used to bring the world's best smoked salmon every year down from Wisconsin. Ive even had what I call "cruise salmon" because my sister took me on a cruise and they served this pink fleshy salmon with every meal...mmmmm..

thank you!! for the great suggestions!
