Silver Sonnet's Lines to Losing

wow!

Way to go!!! How tall are you? I can't wait to get back to a size 18. That's what I wore right before I got pregnant. And then I can't wait to leave the 18's behind! :p

I know what you mean, Twin. A month ago, I didn't believe I could really do this at all, but after losing two sizes (and who knows how many pounds!) in a month, I am thinking about buying clothes off the REGULAR-SIZED racks! I think that happens at size 16, doesn't it? If I ever get rich, I'm going to start a clothing company that makes PRETTY plus sized clothes. I'm so sick of seeing something I love in an 8 only to find the same thing in 22 is only available in "fat-lady prints."

I'm 5' 5.5". The half an inch is important as it makes me taller than the average woman ;)

I carry my weight around the stomach (four babies and major abdominal surgery in 5 years means there's NO supporting muscle there), so I have to buy things big enough to fit THERE even though they don't fit the rest of me.

How tall are you?

I'm 5' 5" and I also have belly problems - having carried twins, ya know. I have that same problem. I have one pair of Levi's in a size 18. They totally fit right now in the butt and thighs, but I can only zip them up about an inch! I hope my belly shrinks as I lose more weight. I am going to start weight training in August to at least try to firm up the muscles.

I know just what you mean about the prints! I HATE that. I told my husband about it last month. I tried to explain that it is not bad enough that you are heavy and can't wear the same styles as everyone else, but WY can't you wear the same fabrics??? Especially in swimsuits!!!!!!!

Ug, swimsuits :p Let's don't even TALK about that. I love, love, LOVE to swim. I mean, I grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and probably spent more time in the water than out of it. BUt I haven't been swimming in years--I DO own a suit, but I can't imagine actually wearing it in public.

Congrats on the size 18! I'd say that a good number of the pants that I own are a size 18... but to say that they fit me "comfortably" right now is a big stinky lie! lol

As far as bathing suits go- I bought a suit similar to this last year:

and I love it. I carry most of my weight in my midsection as well (But can't blame it on kids or anything like that...) and this does a decent job of concealing all that. It's a bit pricey- but since we have a hot tub I knew I'd get enough use out of it to allow the splurge.

cute

That is a cute swimsuit, Val. Way too daring a plunging neckline for me, though. I have four little hands grabbing at me half the time I am in the pool, so I need something sturdy and dependable on top!!! :p

says the woman who left the pool in her bra and a towel :)

cute suit Val... :D

there are some places that make decent plus sized swimsuits but they are not cheap unfortunately... and I've seen too many stores that carry plus sized clothes in some what the same style as the junior shops (the avenue tends to do this) I don't know of too many people who can carry off crop pants - they make me look short and wider than I am... and never flattering...

If you want to go swimming, and it's good exercise, who cares what you look like -most people wouldn't even notice... for my suit, I got a really cute pareo thing to wear around it... and I can just drop it before i dive in.. (I just have to remember to take off my glasses before I dive in :D

Of course it's right, Twin! Isn't that what we're all trying to achieve?

Maleficient, glasses--yes, they do put a crimp in our bathing-beauty image, don't they? I forget to take mine off all the time. Luckily, I'm one of those people who hates chlorine, so I do most of my swimming (back when I did any at all) in lakes and rivers. Fewer and fewer people do that, so not many get to watch me diving blindly into the lake and feeling around on the murky bottom for my glasses :p

Val, that's a great suit, but I think I'll have to leave it to you 20-somethings. I may not act my age, but I can't pull THAT off!

I'm becoming more and more convinced that there will be no weigh in today. I'm coming unglued. I WANT to update that ticker!

Wow--that's BEAUTIFUL, Twin! I love the green on top!

GUESS WHAT? I FINALLY got to have an OFFICIAL weigh in! I lost 6.6 pounds for a total of just over 10 pounds! I'm SO excited!

The bad thing: my sister gained two pounds. She's pretty upset, so it has taken some of the excitement away from my loss, but I'm still happy for me :)

Well done dudess!!

You should go out a treat yourself to a new lippy or something small as a reminder you're an achiever :D

Proud :)f you!

Why does praise from the other side of the world always sound so cool? :) Thanks. all of you. I'm proud of me, too, but I'm also starting to slip a little. I'm not as careful about recording what I'm eating,a nd I'm allowing myself little "extras" a bit too often.

So today, it's back to the fast lane! I'm going to actually USE the program I paid all that money for and try counting Points today instead of calories (although I will do the cals, too, just to get a feel for the point system). My sister and I are going shopping. Yes, this is the sister who gained 2 pounds on the plan last week, so I am going to have to be the voice of reason (scary thought!).

Yesterday we went to two Vietnamese groceries and a Veitnamese restaurant. Today we are going to a Mexican grocery (can you tell me like food and cooking?) We'll also do some other running and go out to eat. I've had a good breakfast (granola and yogurt--6 of the 26 points I'm allowed for the day) to help tide me over, but it will still be a challenge.

I'll report back later.

My "potential-we'll see-you never know" father in-law lost amazing amounts of weight with WW..

What he was doing was buying all the stuff he had to eat on that day, putting it on an empty shelf in the fridge which had nothing else but water so he knew he couldn't eat anything but those. He never had to think about food. It was all stocked in sections on a sinlge shelf.

Sometimes I wish they would do more vegan/vegetarian friendly food so I could be on it. Point count is superb!

~~Hey hey hey Little Mrs Mischief! It's especially now you lost all that weight that you should find courage and keep going.. ~~

Sday xxxx

Hey there buddy!!! Great job on the loss! I'm so glad that they were open despite the holiday- I don't know if you could've waited another week for an official weigh-in! :) The upside is that you got to see such a big change in the numbers! YAY!

:)

I know, Val. I was SOOOO glad to see cars in the parking lot Monday!

Good day today. I actually counted POINTS (thanks for the encouragement on that, Sday!) It wasn't bad, and when I totaled up the "real" numbers (calories, fat and fiber) at the end of the day, I was satisfied that I had done well.

Vanilla yogurt with some granola for breakfast.

For lunch, my sis and I ate at Applebee's; not my favorite place, but she'd never been, and we wanted to try the WW meals. I had Confetti Chicken, and it was good. I especially liked the cheese; I've been avoiding that since I started losing.

Supper was a thin grilled pork chop with grilled baby bok choy, zucchini and a daikon just eaten raw.

I had a small sugar-free pudding cup mid-afternoon and a couple of low fat cinnamon graham crackers for dessert. I did NOT drink anywhere close to enough water today, but I will fix that tomorrow.

We FINALLY had rain here today, and it was so nice. I spent most of the afternoon curled up with hubby playing Xbox. Maybe because of the rain, I had three cups of coffee today instead of my usual one, and I had a diet Coke and a diet root beer--which explains, I think, why I'm here typing at midnight instead of sleeping.

Well, rather than rambling aimlessly, I'm going to try to find something boring to do. I'll be useless tomorrow if I don't rest, but since there's nothing I HAVE to do tomorrow, it wouldn't be the end of the world (I LOVE summer vacation!)

'Night, everyone.
