Have you thought about planning for and making your meals in bulk? That's the way I do it (partly because I live alone and recipes for one are hard to come by- and also food is cheaper to buy in bulk), and I find it gives me a lot more control over what I'm eating. I have to think about it in advance because I have to get the stuff back from the supermarket (of course I walk to the supermarket so the amount of stuff I can get back is limited to what I can inflict upon my poor long suffering back- you may not have that problem), and quite often with meals for 6-8 there's a lot of ingredients involved. It also means that most meals I have, once they're cooked (which, ok, is a bit more work than cooking for one or two), only involve a quick run through the microwave, so I'm way less tempted to nip down the road to the fantastic Indian takeaway... or the traditional and well known (in my area) fish and chip shop... or into the high street for even more options I shouldn't have.
