i think the food was okay - being on the low GI diet i can still eat cheese (yay) but i didn't have too much. its the alcohol that's the problem! not supposed to drink more than one small one a day, but what the heck, tis chrissy! other than mondayitis, today is good so far - except i made a (relatively healthy) chocolate and hazelnut cake for my boss' birthday and HAD to have a small piece :)

hope your day is more successful than mine!

yeah, you're right :) my gym has short hours this week, so i won't be able to go to that, either. will have to try again next week, next month, next year...

Great attitude! :) As for the gym, I have to say I've lucked out and mine is keeping normal hours as far as I know! But you'll do just fine, just keep your success in mind !!

not a great day..oh well!

b: 2 scrambled eggs + small tin ww baked beans

l: egg and salad sandwich on wholegrain bread. completely forgot i'd had eggs for breakfast! piece of chocolate hazelnut cake (i made it for work, using darkest chocolate and brown sugar. still bad of course)

d: basmati rice, chicken hotpot (chicken, tomato, carrot,leek, garlic and rosemary)

snacks: handful of son's twisties and FOUR tim tams - argh. even after all this time, if they are in my house i'll eat the darn things.

drinks: 2 coffees, 2 teas, 3 ltrs water

exercise: nope (well, washed the car and rollerbladed a bit with my son)

sigh. will start again today!
 
Don’t stress hun tis the silly season and I bet most of us will eat something we shouldn’t have lol. Im not going to have time at all for any structured exercise this week so all the running around for Christmas will have to do. Today im drooling over your chicken hot pot can i have the recipe for that one pleassssse
 
hi rosered - yup, trying not to freak out, but i am disappointed ! another lesson that i must NOT have such food in my house!

chicken hot pot:

800g chicken, cut into 1 inch cubes
tbspn olive oil
2 leeks - chopped
2 carrots - chopped finely
2 cloves of garlic - chopped
1 cup of chicken stock
1/2 cup of white wine
1 400g tin of tomatoes
a tablespoon each of rosemary and parsley

heat up the oil and cook the chicken on high for about five mins. set aside. cook the leeks until soft, then add the garlic and carrots. when they are soft add the rest of the ingredients except the chicken, and bring it to the boil. reduce the heat and add the chicken. simmer gently for about 35 minutes. season as desired.

the end :D
 
oh, that is meant to serve 4 for dinner, it says to have it with a green salad, or i had basmati rice with it.
 
Sheidi you'll do fine. Everyone has a weak spot. For me, I don't keep it in my housethen I'll go buy, that's how BAD I am! :) So kudos to you, you're doing really good.. don't let one slip up get you down all day!

b: yoghurt and a pear

l: tuna salad sandwich on wholegrain

d: baked salmon with leeks and spinach and garlic

snacks: i did it again! i ate the rest of the timtams, so maybe 5 or 6. i also had the rest of the twisties. i tried reasoning with myself but it didn't work.

drinks: 2 coffees, two teas, two herbal teas, 3 ltrs water

exercise: again, none. seems the self-sabotage has hit with a vengeance. no idea how to stop it.
 
Ok that’s it put one more Tim tam in your mouth girl and I will come over there and kick your butt from here to Tim buck two. And twisties …what u thinking? It only takes me 2 hours on the plane to get to your hut, keep looking over your shoulder hun next time you put something like that in your mouth.
Fish 2 times in one day; you go girl lots of good oils in that.
I want a walk from you today hun… hmmm 20 min will do.
P.s. thanks for the recipe im going to try it after Christmas.

oh well, last day at work today. yesterday we had our christmas party so another bad one!

l: risotto with prawns and veggies, pannacotta, stacks of champers!!!

d: barbie with friends, 1 chicken snag, small piece of chicken breast, lots of green salad, not too bad. one glass champers.

hmm - a pattern i'm sensing is with the drinking. but yes, its christmas and i need to be okay about it, or else i'll just give in and put on all that weight again.

drinks other than the above - 3ltrs water, one coffee, three herbal teas.

exercise - lifting wine glasses :D

shoot. will do pilates when i get home!


meanwhile, i'll have no internet access until work next thursday, so until then i wish you all a very lovely holiday and thank you so much for all your support

Hun it’s now Christmas week and we will all have a few little indiscretions but that’s ok. This is the one time to enjoy family food and festivities and have no guilt there is plenty of time in the new-year to make ourselves feel guilty. Have a wonderful Christmas and only one Tim tam lol.
 
hi i'm back. i didn't end up keeping a food diary, but i think i did reasonably well. didn't overeat at all over christmas, but i certainly drank a bit and didn't eat all the right things. the worst thing is that i haven't been to the gym this week (yet) or last week. dunno what happened there - i'll tryyy and go after work today.

i'm finding it really hard to eat breakfast. today i got up and made eggs and baked beans, but it was tough eating it! i'm re-reading my low GI book and will shop accordingly this weekend. i expect NYE to be a bit of a blow out, but after that i should be back on track..

exercise: 28 mins on the treadmill

much better day today. felt great that i finally got over my weirdness and returned to the gym. the hours are still different until after next week (ie open at 0900 instead of 0600) but i plan to go to a step class this arvo and to do my circuit tomorrow morning.

and i've been too scared to weigh myself there again for the past week, but i did yesterday and i've lost another 400g (0.9 of a pound) taking me to 72.6kgs - not much i know but i was amazed after all the drinking and no exercise!

changed my ticker even for such a little :D

From new years day hun we are going to kick butt. Are you going to join the New Year challenge? Good on you for getting into the exercise hun that’s great. A 400g loss is excellent keep up the wonderful work hun
 
haha - thanks rosered! yep, i'm up for the buttkickage. i said i'd join the ny challenge, just a bit worried i won't have internet access (bill was higher than i thought!) at home. i'll see if i can bludge it elsewhere. thanks for the encouragement :)

b: sultana bran + skim milk

l: egg and lettuce wholegrain bread

d: roasted a capsicum with tomatoes, garlic and capers inside, with olive oil. best with anchovies and basil, but i was out of those. had it with some five bean mix and some ww cottage cheese, and a tspn of caviar.

drinks: 3ltrs water + tea and coffee

exercise: no step class was on, so i went hardcore on the treadmill for 30 mins. then later at home i discovered an old tape - the new york ballet workout, so i did that at about midnight :D

no snacks. tonight (nye) i'll probably drink a bit but i'll keep the food to a minimum, even though i'm paying a fortune for a set menu - bugger!

woah - long absence due to my not being able to pay for my internet! finally got it back today. happy new year to everyone.

i had a great new year's eve, thanks rosered - too much alcohol but the food was fine. how was yours?

meanwhile...

it seems without a place to account myself, i totally fall off the wagon! the past couple of weeks have been pretty bad foodwise. not much exercise either, too hot - i was away at the beach last week, which involved some activity but not much. i've found not being at work makes me much lazier, so i'm out of my exercise routine. i weighed myself on my scales, but they show fluctuations of two kilos in one day, so i guess they are not the best. i'm not going to weigh myself again for two weeks, assuming i stick to my eating and exercise plan. i'm sure i've gained at least a kilo or two, possibly more...time to get busy again..

today, sunday 15 (i think!) january 2006

b: scrambled eggs + baked beans

l: an omelette with avocado and salad ( i was at a restaurant, the best option despite a few eggs too many for one day)

d: ww breakfast cereal with skim milk, and one no fat yoghurt (this is recommended in my low GI book if you've had a lot to eat during the day)

no snacks. about 2 ltrs water and a few coffees. 20 mins on the treadmill (first time since monday).

tomorrow i'll get some sweetener and hopefully back to the gym. i have to try and be motivated, i can't go back to the blob i was/am. back on track for me..
 
Good to see you back hun, bend over so I can kick you in the butt and get you moving again. Pop on over to the club and join the 10 pound club hun for a bit of motivation.
