Lmao, you should def be on a cheer squad flumes... I'm feelin' it.

Yeah, not too much change, can't expect much I mean I have not even lost over 9 pounds yet, but I can tell my rolls are smaller, and in the pictures before my arms hit my sides and now there is a small gap inbetween, so there is at least some change. I will probably take another pic when I lost like 6 more pounds... so 15 pounds lost.

For you flumes I posted a picture from high school....

Just got home from the gym:

Elliptical; 65 minutes; 883 calories; resistance 8
Treadmill; 11min21sec (1 mile); 110 calories; Speed 5.6-5.8mph
Elliptical; 35 minutes; 410 calories; resistance 7

Total Time: 111 minutes 21 seconds
Total Calories: 1,403

To be honest I could have gone longer, but I started getting hungry :p I have enough energy to run another mile, but I will do that tomorrow.

Official weigh-in for the month of may challenge tomorrow. I know I am not going to make my goal of 160, but I know I tried really hard, and I am very happy with that!

Also, I am starting my count down to when I start weight training! Only 11 days til I start :) Hoping for a good jump on buildin' some lean mass... Monday, June 7th is the day!

Wow, those pictures are great, the ones showing your progress so far! I can deffo see a difference!!
And of course, you look fabulous in the old pictures, as well. I'm sure you'll be looking like that again in no time. :)

Way to kill it at the gym once again, and good luck with your May challenge weigh-in! You never know, you could get a nice surprise and see 160 after all. Oh, and that's super exciting that you're going to start weight training! I love lifting, like a lot. (lol, alliteration)

Wow! You WERE a cheerleader! And a still a cutie patootie back then too!

As for not reaching your 160 goal.....listen....notice how the sun comes up each day and goes down each nite?

It'll do the same thing again tomorrow and the next day and the next. You'll have lotsa chances to hit that 160. So don't sweat it. Just keep trying.

(But by the way you exercise, I know you are already motivated. Don't need me pushin ya!)

Good luck and have a great day!

Boo... I am at 162.6 still.... at least I am back down to that number. If I just keep trying I will get down past 162 :) Actually with my weight loss I lose about 24% of a pound a day, so in just a few days I will be 162. Not too upset. I found out why my weight has been screwey, I added carbs back into my diet. When you add carbs back you tend to retain water, and you wouldn't see a drop in weight until you dropped at least that much weight in fat vs water. So I had gained about 1.5 pounds of water.... meaning I am really close to losing 1.5 pounds of fat :) Good to me! If I have a really good workout tonight like last night I will see a drop on the scales tomorrow.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well!

Also, I am setting up new goals because my weight loss is going slower than expected since adding the carbs back in. I know I lose about 24% of a pound a day so it will take me about 9 days to lose 2 pounds if I keep at about 840 calories a work out, I am going to strive for 1000 calorie workouts, should not be hard since I will be doing 1.25 hours of weight training 5 days a week and cardio for 65+ minutes 5-6 days a week. So that is 29% of a pound a day, meaning 2 pounds a week (if I keep up 1000 calorie workouts). So here are my new goals...

Also, forgot to post that only 10 days until I start weight training :-D

I just ate an ice cream sandwich lol, 140 calorie skinny cow one so not bad, will not go over calories. I am going to drink a protein shake and head out to the gym.

EDIT:

Just got home from the gym. Burned 1,001 calories, we'll just round to 1,000 lol. EXERCISE GOAL MET.

Went to Vietnamese food last night... I usually get Bun... cold rice noodles with flame broiled beef with lemon grass... so just like a bajillion unnecessary carbs and calories lol. But, I couldn't resist. I ate all the meat, which isn't too much and only ate a few bite fulls of the noodles....took a lot of strength lol. So I am guessing about 400-550 calories... still at a deficit yesterday by about 1100. Stepped on the scale... still the same. GDI! Lol, oh well, it will be lower in a few days :)

I've never had Vietnamese food. Sounds delicious. Is it spicy?

Love your new goal posting! Well thought out! :)

And your pics are fab! Great work! (do you ever take a bad pic? lol)

Enjoy the weekend! It is Hot hot hot here. (Damn...in a bit I gotta go to work work work. )

Viet is very tasty, not spicy but I also use Rooster Sauce which is red chili sauce mmm. But, tons of carbs because of the rice noodles, but sooo good lol.

And thanks for the compliment, but I take MANY a bad pictures... especially being a fat butt.... when I was thin it was less common that I erased pictures as soon as they are taken lol.

I will enjoy my weekend of house work and exercise haha!

I have been looking up how many calories I should be eating a day and I keep getting crazy numbers! >:/

I thought when you want to lose weight it is supposed to be so easy to just cut some calories and lose, but I have a feeling I am not eating enough. You see, by all means of physics what I am doing, I should have lost more than 10 pounds by now. But, I have not... now I am not anywhere near believing I have hit a plateau at 162.6 pounds, but I think there is something I am not doing right.

I have been looking it up and all over the place says I will maintain my weight by eating 2,000+ calories a day, some saying I can eat 2,400-2,600 and maintain. Meaning I should eat between 1,900 and 2,100 DAILY to lose weight. I have been eating 1,200-1,450 thinking I was eating enough... gah! Too many things to think about. I feel like my body is getting use to the 1,200-1,450 that I have had everyday for almost a month and that is why if I go a little higher to maintenance, 1,500-1,580, I don't see drops in weight... at all. Hoping I get some input as to how many calories I should be consuming because I don't want/need to be starving my body and not lose weight because of it.

UGH... weight loss is too complicated.

I would say, definitely try for hitting a higher number for a couple of weeks and see what happens! If it's true that your body's gotten used to the lower number of calories, and that's why it's holding onto the weight, even if it does appear your weight goes up a bit once you raise your calories, eventually you should start dropping fat again. (I think, anyway! I'm no expert; just reiterating stuff I've read here...)

The worst that can happen is..well, nothing, really. If you are eating at all below maintenance, you're bound to lose something eventually, even if it does slow down. But, since you've been stuck anyway, there isn't really much of a downside, I think. At the least, it'll give your body a break from the huge deficits, and maybe that'll do something good.... Since you do exercise so much, you might also try searching around on this site for threads about too much exercise stalling fat loss; I think I read something like that recently.

But also, have you been taking your measurements? You work out so much, could it be that even though your weight isn't changing, your body composition is, and you're gaining muscle even as you are losing fat? I've seen a lot of before/after pictures of people who lose little to no weight but get a lot thinner because of that!

Anyway, don't get too discouraged! You are doing a great job. :)

Yeah, it is just crazy because I tried to eat upto like 1,700 yesterday and I couldn't bring myself to do it! It was ridiculous... haha I needed like 800 calories to bring it up to that number around dinner time and I still only at about 670 calories... so 1,580 all day. Haha, I was like oo a burger and it has 780 calories, and in my mind I was like NO, CANNOT EAT BURGER! at least I know I will probably have a war with myself if I ever get tempted to go to McDonalds. I noticed that happened before when I had a pulled pork sandwich I took one bit of the roll it was on chewed it and my mouth would not let me swallow it, I had to spit it out because I knew I was not allowed to eat it haha.

I am not really that discouraged. I mean it totally DOES suck to not lose weight when you are trying hard, but I have also come to realize that I am only 20... still in college, not yet married, etc I have so much life ahead of me and in all honesty even if it took me 1-2 years to lose all the weight, I would still only be 21-22, just out of college and just become a newlywed. I just really want to be fit by the wedding and by my college graduation, I graduate May 2012 and will be getting married probably October 2012.... so I have awhile to play around with what I am doing.

ANd, sadly I never kept measurements. But, my clothes do fit better than on day one, clothes that didn't fit at the beginning of this month now do and it feels good. I don't know if there has been a change recently, but if not then I know there will be soon since I start weight training on the 7th :)
