Shawnna's weight loss diary...

Hey...a loss is a loss. I bet your next weigh in will be more reflective of your determination.
Sometimes my body takes a few days to get an accurate weight. I think water retention plays a big part. Its like a lottery most days...but over the course of a week or two, the main thing is the weight is going in the right direction.

Way to go!
 
Hey guys, here is what I have eaten today...

Breakfast:

Starbucks non-fat chai latte (200 calories) :/

Lunch:

15 almonds (130 calories)
Salad from Subway (130 calories)

Snack:

Approx 1.5 TBS PB (125 calories)
Lite cheese (50 calories)

Dinner:

Crystal Lite (10 calories)
Canned Soup (120 calories)
1 cup coffee w/ non-dairy creamer (15 calories)

Total: 780 calories :/ GAH! Why am I so low!? I mean I do not feel hungry, the only time I feel hungry is in my class when I am waiting to eat lunch, but that is the only time. And when I was hungry earlier I ate some peanut butter and I have not been hungry and I just had dinner. I don't feel weak, or fatigued, starving, etc. And I mean if I wanted to starve to lose weight then that would be fine, but I want to be healthy and do this right. I think I am going to have to start planning my meals in advance again to ensure I am eating ENOUGH calories, isn't that weird? I go from eating too many, too easily to not getting enough even with effort to do so.

Woohoo.... I am 8 pounds down!

Woohoo! I have officially lost 8 pounds! I am at 163.4, which means only 2 pounds to lose 10 and only 3 pounds to get to get to my goal in the month of may challenge! :) I am very excited about this, I was afraid my weight loss was at a stand still, but I think actually taking a day off from the gym really helped me out... weird I know.

Anyway, I will post my meals in a bit... I need me some coffee :)
 
Wooo! Great loss, and great job! I love the mini goals, I think I'll give that a try. We're both very close to 10... can almost taste it :D

Haha, I blew right through the 7 pounds lost... it was crazy I just stepped on the scale and was like... WHAT!?!?! then I did a dance lmao. And for my mini-goal each time I get close to the goal on my ticker I move it by a few pounds... I use to be 165 and then I moved it to 163 and now 159, haha like my goal is just right in reach but I have to keep going to get it... eventually my ticker will say 135 and my little bunny will be sitting happy on the far right side of my ticker :)

Haha! I appreciate that... move damn bunny... MOVE! I am very excited and I just noticed my rolls are smaller haha.... it is awful to admit I have rolls.. but they are def smaller! AND, my ring just comes off now :) So I know stuff is getting smaller, also a pair of pants I have started falling off yesterday... they have always been a loose fit, but not so loose that I have to worry that I am mooning the world! HAHA... it is a nice feeling.
 
Great work on the loss! you are killing it! Keep in mind it might slow down as your body gets used to your new routine but don't get discouraged - it will come off eventually if you keep it up - which I have no doubt you will! You sound really determined!

I am already planning for the worst :) As I always say "hope for the best, expect the worst, and accept anything in between" I want to lose 2 pounds a week, which is reasonable and healthy and I am going to be taking a weight training class on top of my cardio at the gym so I am sure I will do pretty good and avoid a plateau for a little bit. I also plan on giving myself a once a week "cheat" meal at like all you can eat sushi (yum, my favorite) one I hit 145, which should also help. I also plan on losing maybe 1 pound every 2 weeks one I get to 140 because that means I am very close to my ideal weight (130-135). So, hopefully I can combat a slow down! :)
 
I just read about something called a refeed. Its like a cheat, but its a planned, healthy jump in calories once in a while to basically confuse your metabolism.
Apparently, it works...from what I read on another forum (bodybuildingcom.)

It even sounds better than calling it a cheat!

Also, my fiance suggested that I take pictures of my progress either sucking all the way in or pushing all the way out because when you think you are "relaxed" you may really be pushing out or sucking in without realizing it, and you can only go so far either way so you should be able to see your results by doing that...

So today I went to the gym. My favorite machine was being used so I decided to jog on the elliptical for a little while...

I ended up staying on there for a little under 17 minutes, I did a 2 min warm up walk and jogged the rest at 4.8 mph for 1.25 miles. I am pretty proud of myself because 1 mile use to be impossible for me and today is was actually REALLY easy for me and I ended up burning 150 calories...

Then I ended up going to the elliptical for 50 minutes at resistance 7 and burnt about 583 calories... so a grand total of 733 calories burned.

Tomorrow is my "official" weigh in day for the month of may challenge, hopefully I hit my goal, which is 162.8... I am very close (only .6 pounds!)... will be very nice if I see that number tomorrow :) Wish me luck.

OMG..... I am 162.8 lbs.... I hit my goal! That is a total of 8.6 lbs LOST in 14 full days! EKkkkk! I am so close to being out of 160 I can taste it!.... Don't know how this weight just keeps falling off, but I'm not complaining!
 
Aw, thanks for stopping by Sunflower :) I always love to see good company stop by my journal.

Anyway, so I said earlier I reached 162.8, I did a victory dance, then I went to class, then I went to the gym and sweat my butt off (quite literally, so it would seem). No time to be too excited about my losses because then I am not focusing on getting to my next goal, which I have decided is to get out of the "over weight category! AH, that damn BMI of mine, so close to being "normal weight!" For my next month of may challenge goal I want to be at 160, but if I can just kick my own ass this week and stick to my eating right and going to the gym there is a possibility that I can get to 159, which will put me at "normal weight" So, I MUST work hard this week, I know my weight loss is probably going to slow down since I have lost some major pounds the past 2 weeks, but it my body can just keep up the losing for just this one last week and help me lose 3.8 pounds I will be ecstatic, and then I will accept a 1-2 pound weekly loss with joy.

So today I did 1.25 miles on the elliptical again, I walked the first quarter and jogged the mile, total calorie burn of 140

Then I went to the elliptical and did 45 minutes and managed to burn 550 calories...

grand total of 690 calories, not that great, but I think it is okay. Tomorrow I am just going to do the elliptical and should be able to get near, if not past, 800.
 
Hey guys,

Well today I slept in until 10:30! Arg, by the time I got out of bed and I got ready for the day it was noon so me and RJ decided to get BBQ, I got a pulled pork sandwich, which was more like a freakin whole pig on a giant loaf of bread! I tried to eat the bread, I took a bite, chewed, and spit it out because I just could not allow myself to eat those useless calories. Needless to say I only ate the pulled pork, probably about 900-1000 calories, so I have not eaten most of the day, but for dinner I got the Chicken Green Chili Salad from Bajio and I am guess it is about 470 calories, so I am right at my limit for the day. :| I cannot believe I ate that freakin pulled pork! AND I have not had ANY water today, WTH is happening to me!? Tomorrow will be better... I promise, back to the routine tomorrow.

Also, I didn't workout because I have been cleaning up the house all day so, tomorrow I am going to work extra hard!

Hope everyone is doing well and seeing smaller numbers on their scales! :)
 
So I just got out of the gym:

65 mins on elliptical; 6.93 miles; 844 calories; resistance 7.


I am hoping my weight shows a loss tomorrow morning, I have seen 163.8 on Saturday morning and 163.4 this morning because of all the sodium I have been consuming. So, today I have been pretty good and am hoping I have had very low amounts of salt today so I can see what my real weight is :)

Also, a few days ago I wanted to see what I weighed with all my clothes on, after eating and drinking a bunch of water, and in the middle of the day and it said 167! It is great that my weight is lower in the middle of the day with those other factors now than it was 2 weeks ago first thing in the morning! :) Such a boost.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well!
