UGH!!!

I went to my very first strength training class today. Yes, it is at 7 am and goes to 8:15 - :| I have no idea what I got myself into! My teacher is the Jillian Michaels of Reno, she is intense!

So, everyday is something different, it ranges from free weights to kick boxing to weight lifting.... here is the outline for the week.

Tuesday: Bosu (that halfball, yes kills your muscles!), free weights (AMPED), hand weights, Yoga

Wednesday: Jump rope, Shadow boxing, bands, hand weights, Pilates

Thursday: Punching Bag warm up, med ball, hand weights, pilates

And Friday there is no class. :/ AHHHH, this is going to kick my butt into some serious shape!

The teacher also gave us a sample meal plan outline to help with our nutrition and I know I am going to see big changes in how I look over 5 weeks! Excited, but nervous. I exercise A LOT and I got my butt handed to me today just doing a fitness assessment! So, I am expecting to lose about 10 pounds over the course of 5 weeks, or at least lose a lot of fat and gain some muscles.

:nopity: Woe is me. Haha, have to be prepared for tomorrow. I didn't eat before class, big no-no! I had no energy, the instructor just drains it from your body... thinkin before workouts I am going to eat a can of tuna and a piece of toast with a TBS of peanut butter to get carbs and protein and right after drink a protein shake, need to start tracking my food again for class... ah!

And your workouts sound wild! Good luck with them...I'm sure you'll enjoy them. Nice mix up of stuff to do!

And yes....carbs before a workout and protein after is what I learned.

Hey guys,

So I didn't get on yesterday, but I am still here :p Today was day 2 of my class, well official day 3 but on day one we only did a fitness assessment, but we started the butt kicking yesterday. My instructor is like a little ninja... she is nuts! Yesterday we did AMPED, so we worked with barbells, hand weights, did squats, push ups, sit ups, a combo of all those things on a bosu (my arch nemesis) and basically a bunch of painful stuff. Today we did some work with a punching bag; kicking, climbing up it, punching, shadow boxing, using a 12 lb weight and pulling ourselves up it, burpees with a bosu (ridiculous), then we got some resistance bands and put them around the bags and did sit ups, twists, crunchies, and a bunch of core stuff, did the same with a medicine ball.

Needless to say I am SORE! I didn't know how to get out of bed today, I had to grab my stuff off the floor using my toes because I literally could not bend over. I think it is pretty much impossible to NOT lose weight or at least look better and lose inches in 5 weeks with this class. HAHA, it is totally a love hate relationship, I LOVE that it is going to make me look smokin', I HATE that it puts me through such agony lmao.

So, tomorrow is supposed to be even MORE intense... GAH, she said she does the hardest stuff on the last class of the week so we have 3 full days of recovery... WTF ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? These classes are a big kick in the ass and they get HARDER!? GAH, lol. So I have to go now because my muscles are trembling and it is hard to type. Hope everyone is doing well!
 
Hang in there you. I'm feeling the same way. Stairs make me wince.

Someone told me, its like an office worker losing their job and getting a job as a construction worker. Its tuff...but after the first week, it should get better.

From what I understand, you shouldnt feel pain if you are relaxed. Only if you move. Thats the soreness you should have.

Hope you recover and bounce back quick.

Yeah, it is def the moving that is killing me! Lmao earlier I was trying to sit down without hurting too much and my chair flipped from under me haha.

Anyway, so I was kinda a bad girl today, don't worry I stayed in my calories! So, today thismorning I had a can of tuna with an odwalla bar before my strength training class and right after had a protein shake, at about noon I made an egg muffin, I used 2 egg whites, 2 slices deli turkey, 1 whole wheat english muffin, and 1 lite baby bell cheese and drank 3L of water... so about 600 calories... If that. So since it is my ToM I have been craving junk, so I went to 7-11 got a diet coke, twinkies, snow balls, and a chocolate bar lmao, I will tell you now I had every intention to eat every morsel and I would still be only at about 1,100-1,200 calories so I figured w/e. I ended up eating the 2 twinkies and 1 out of 2 snowballs, and half the chocolate... UGH I am not feeling good haha, I guess that serves me right for being such a :piggy:.

Incase you don't know, a snow ball is a chocolate cake with cream filling with marshmellow on the outside and sprinkled coconut flakes (pink of course!) on the very outside.... :drool5:

Anyway, tomorrow I will be better! Damn period! at least I stayed within calories :/ haha, have a great night everyone!

Aw shucks guys :beating: I love my friends here. So today was actually not too intense in class, we did core stuff, so while it hurt it wasn't as much moving and kicking and punching as the past 2 days. We did stuff with balance (on the dreaded bosu of course!) and I know my booty is going to be hurting tomorrow!

I still don't know my weight, tomorrow I don't have class though so I can weigh in when I eventually wake up :p I will hopefully go to the gym tomorrow and do some cardio, I have been slacking because I have been so sore from my class, but I just have to keep moving and it wont hurt so much tomorrow!

Hope everyone is doing well and hopefully I can report tomorrow that I am no longer over weight! I won't hold my breath (that may make the scale say a bigger number! j/k :p) but even if I am at 160 I will take that and be happy.


BTW Flumes, my eyes are actually VERY green, I use to get brown contact and blue contacts, but as I have gotten older I have learned to love things about myself... I have finally learned that vanity it NOT a virtue, but my sister and mom have gorgeous blue eyes... go figure, they HATE them lmao... I guess that goes to show that no matter what you've got you want something else.

Hey guys,

SO I just wanted to share what I am having for breakfast, I made my own egg McMuffin..

Used 1 whole wheat english muffin (130 calories), 2 slices thin deli turkey (about 25 calories), 1 lite baby bell cheese wheel (50 calories) and 2 egg whites (30 calories)...

I cut the cheese wheel up put it on both halves of the english muffin, cook the 2 egg whites omelet style, cut the egg white in half after cooked, place the two parts of egg white on both pieces of the english muffin on top of cheese then put 1 slice of turkey on piece of muffin on top of eggs, put in the toaster oven for about 2-3 mins until muffin is toasty and cheese is melty, take out stack um and enjoy! Nom nom, 235 calories and it is balanced, you can always use less of the cheese or not use cheese or don't use meat, but I think it is very tasty :D ANways, just thought I would share!
 
Great pics and awesome work so far!! You will get better at those burpees the more you do them - trust me - I could only do like 1 when I started and I cursed the instructor every time he mentioned them - now I just do as I'm told and don't complain because I know he is going to make us keep doing them! I love the BOSU too - so much that I bought my own however rarely find time to use it. The core workouts are awesome!
Keep it up this weekend and I'm sure normal is just around the corner for you!!!
