We're going back down to a high of 3°C on Saturday, with possible snow at night. Brr. Although we could use the moisture.

Hey Mike, how are you doing?
It's been a while since I had a chance to get back on the forum.
I had carpel tunnel surgery on my right hand near the end of April, & that's still healing.
Spring is a busy time for us, we have a large 1 acre yard lot & we did some landscaping this year adding a stone patio, gas fire pit & hot tub to our back yard. (we decided to invest in our property since travel has been non-existent for the last two years). This week we just finished planting some new roses & hostas to replace a few that died over the winter.
I'm still keeping up with my daily walks 3-5 km with Bella. My wife Sharon runs 5-6 Kg on alternate days, & walks with us on her non-run day. Today was brutal, the temperature is already 24°C & 90 % humidity a 8:00 am.
We have finished weeding all the flower beds & have just one more cubic yard (6 in total ) of black cedar mulch to spread to keep the weeds down. We have about 10 large ash trees that have to come down as they have died due to ash bore. That will keep us busy for another week or two.
My weight had crept up to 220 lbs (12 over my low of 208). So I am watching my calories. I'm down to 215 but want to get it back under 210 (94.5 kg).

regards

Mike D

No wonder you didn't have time to visit us: that's a lot of work! I'm sure everything looks great now though. Did your wrist heal well? Good work keeping an eye on the scale creep and taking steps before things got out of hand.

The main incision is in my palm, it’s still itchy which means it’s still on the mend. The tingling in my fingers has deminished quite a lot but there still a little bit remaining at the top of my 2nd finger. This is much improved over pre surgery which effected thumb, first and second fingers.

Wow, you have been very busy! Your place must be even better than it was. Shame about the Ashes. Glad to hear your carpal tunnel surgery has gone well. Most people I know who have had it have had excellent results.

We had a strong band of thunderstorms blow through the area yesterday afternoon. Power was out for 2 hrs. It dropped the humidity so this morning was a pleasant 3km walk at 20c 50% humidity .

As long as nothing gets damaged thunderstorms are kinda cool. Especially when the air needs refreshing.

Some places were still with out power this morning. We’re pretty self sufficient as we have a natural gas backup generator. It’s still quite windy today, but the air is cooler & dry today.

I had never really seen a thunderstorm until I visited my sister in Baltimore. It was amazing. We should probably have a generator, but it would have to be petrol.

Today the lumber jack arrives to take down some of the dead ash trees.
He also has a huge chipper & trailer to deal with the small branches, which make clean up a lot easier.
Temperature has dropped after the rains to a nice 15°C with a slight breeze, nice for working out of doors.

Today I got two workouts. My wife (Sharon) , Bella & I went for a 4 km walk together. When we got home I spent half an hour splitting wood for our kids wood fired pizza oven! Guess what on the menu this weekend?

Another 2-workout day. First our 4km walk with Bella at 7:00 am, then off to the grocery store for some specials. Then mow the trim of our acre lot with the walk behind, before jumping on the tractor to do the main mowing.

It does look great but such a big garden would be a lot of work exercise!
