So, here's the story.
The last few weeks I've been more and more frustrated with my weight. (I know you can't relate. ;)) I weigh myself every morning and for the last few days I've really been upset by the numbers. (Not that the numbers have changed, mind you, I knew what they were...) I had a constant ticker tape in my head that was saying, "Have to lose weight, have to lose weight..."
Just today I was talking to a friend who is kick-starting some healthy habits. I told her that I just can't seem to get my groove back.
Fast forward to tonight. I got on the scale. I saw a 2 in the hundreds place. UGH! Now this wasn't my morning weight, but I think I was waiting to hit my own personal you-are-fat number to get motivated. Well, I hit the number.
Then I was really worked up and I got to thinking about what has worked for me, weight loss wise, in the past. This forum worked. Oh, yeah, diet and exercise. But coming here every day and being accountable for my food and exercise really worked. You buddies were what was working. I've missed you guys. Then when I found Fuunkymonk's diary and they were talking about the old gals and how they are all back, except for Totallyscrappy...
Well, Here I am! We must kick butt today!

Good for you for coming back :D Whatever the inspiration was (that dreaded 2 in the hundreds spot), it's what you needed to reclaim control!

It's amazing what support and accountability can do to keep us motivated isn't it?

Welcome back Scrappy - now we get to watch the Legend at work on here up close and personal. I'm looking forward to reading your diary :)
 
Hey Scrappy :D Sooo glad your back! I was gone for, uhh, a small amount of time to :rolleyes: and realized the same thing as you- being on here was totally what helped me do it the first time... going on hiatus was the DUMBEST thing I coulda done lol...
So heres to kickin some butt, losing some butt, and maybe having a really hot one when we're all done :D
 
Yea Scrappy!!! I'm so excited that you're back along with Fuunkymonk :) Can't wait to see you start kicking some butt, feel free to kick mine along the way as well :)

I totally understand what your going through, I too have just recently seen the #2 pop up on the scales and it was devistating. I've been doing "ok" but i want to step it up!

Enough about me...how have you been?? How are the kids?? I really missed you!

Thank you for the wonderful welcome. I am happy to meet some new diet buddies and I am so pleased to see my old pals!! (I'm a little nervous being a legend. I'll see what I can do! ;) )

Today's food

honey nut cheerios, 1% milk, orange juice

flower cookie (perfect example of food entering my mouth unmonitored! I didn't even want the cookie, but before my brain could get out the memo, "Don't eat cookie," my teeth were chewing. And, trust me, not even that good!

ham on whole wheat, cheese stick, grapes, mini tube of mini m&m's

2 fig newtons

chicken and noodles (I know... carb nightmare, but I was very watchful of the portion), green beans, cheese cubes, batty peppermint patty

4 glasses of water and 2 glasses of diet pepsi

Review: Not bad considering I haven't cleaned my cupboards of BAD stuff and I haven't gone shopping for "Health food." Need more veggies and need more water!

Today's exercise

55 minutes on the elliptical machine 250 calories burnt!! (Went to a friend's house to watch The Biggest Loser- no cable/poor reception at our house- and I worked out on her machine.

Cool, very cool!

oatmeal with cinnamon, raisins, and pecans
splash milk
bit of brown sugar
cheese crackers
granola/pretzel bar (bad, bad)
baked potato
cheese
taco meat
ranch dressing
2 fig newtons
fried rice (1/2 cup rice, peas, carrots, 2 scrambled eggs, soy sauce)

Need more veggies and more water!

Okay. Busy, busy weekend here. Nothing really earthshattering (birthday parties for David's classmate, Christmas shopping, etc.), but just busy enough to not get in here to the computer. Oh, yeah, and a husband who hogged the computer!
Things are going well. I'm still struggling to get in the exercise now that I'm working, but this week I start my "regular" schedule (M/W/F) and I'm sure I can squeeze in some exercise. (Did I mention that I was going to a step class twice a week before I took this job?) I know I need to do better at the ole' water drinking... (no surprise there!). I've made much better food choices lately and I'm being better at not snacking all the time!
Woo-hoo... go me!
 
Scrappy it will fall in to place, you're doing great!!! Better food choices is the first huge part, but then you know this :)

You're already Christmas shopping??? Oh my goodness I hope when I become a mom I'm as on top of it as you are.
