You look even better with a face
That's made me snort laugh!!!
Good eye, Mal.....full of all kinds of bits and baubles. Thanks skyler, you're too kind.
Okay....I've been doing some serious thinking lately and thought I would put it down in writing. I guess this stems from observing the behavoir of other people that I probably never paid much attention to before.
Let me preface this by saying that in the household in which I was raised etiquette and manners were very important. Table manners especially.
Lately I've been watching how other people eat. And I've come to the determination that it's not only WHAT we eat but HOW we eat that is important. Think about it, every one of us has sat on the couch in front of the TV and stuffed our face. Food spilling down our shirts, crumbs getting on the floor. And you know what, if we eat like pigs and stuff ourselves, well what do we expect? You know the old adage you are what you eat, well I think it should be appended with you are HOW you eat.
Since I've been on this weight loss journey I've been paying special attention to my table manners as well. I was raised to be ladylike and there is no excuse to forget one's manners. Also, as I've lost weight and gained more confidence in myself I FEEL more ladylike too. I sit up straight in my chair while I'm eating. I keep my elbows off the table. I eat slowly. I raise the fork up to my mouth. I take my time and savor my meal.
I've been watching other people eat lately....head down to the plate shoveling in one forkful after another when they haven't even swallowed the first. Vaccuming their food up in just seconds. No wonder we have weight problems!!!
I think not only do we need to educate ourselves about what foods to eat and in what portions...but HOW to eat. If we practiced eating like ladies and gentleman even when we are eating alone I think it would be of enormous benefit to us on this journey.
Just my little morning rant, and not meant to offend anyone.
Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!!
