Hey, Scarlett I am definitely on the green tea kick. You want a tea that's high in tannins to have the full effect, but I do believe it works
 
Cycling calories, that sounds interesting. Maybe I will try it and see how it works out for a few weeks. Couldn't hurt, right? I wonder what are considered "healthy calories" though...fruit? veggies? protein? Hmmm.

Hope you are doing well otherwise!
 
Ok, I just have to finally say this. Every time I click on the link to your diary I think of that song, have no idea what the name of it is or who sings it, but it goes something like this: "tomorrow's another day, and I'm thirsty anyway, so bring on the rain." Then I can't get that song out of my head! And that's the only part I can even remember and I don't even know if that's right! Lol! ;) Hope you are having a great day! :D
 
I can't beleive I actually know country music... Jo Dee Messina sings Bring on the Rain... I'm trying to make it my theme song of late.. its easier said than done though :)

Great going Scarlett!! Begone, blasted water weight ;) And very interesting about cycling calories. I suppose it just reminds your body that there is always more food :)

Crunchie, I can't believe you told your boss you have UTI ...... very clever and absolutely hilarious!!!:D I'm really lucky, at my job everyone is on their feet all the time, so I can go to the loo 20 times in 3 hours and no-one says anything (it really helps with my IBS and frequent trips). Only problem is that it slows me down prepping my mail, so I get out later!! Never mind, I just have to go quicker while I'm out and its all calories ;)

Hmmm.... Well....

I had no idea about the cycling calories part. But I'm pretty sure it's true. cause it's like if u're eating below ur needed amount and suddenly u have an extra 400 calories, ur body won't think it'll need to be on starvation mode anymore.

hmm. I don't hold alot of belief in the green tea because I do drink alot of it because I enjoy the taste. I think u'd have to really drink ALOT for there to be any effectiveness. sorta like how people say drinking cold water burns more calories than warm or hot water. I think it's pretty minute count of calorie loss.

as for blood sugar levels, that i've known for a few months now from my nutritionist. it's especially good to have snacks too to help control ur blood sugar levels.

Just wanted to drop you a line and see how your doing? I also wanted to thank you cuz I thought of you last night when I went out to a Chinese resteraunt with my hubby and I ate raw Sushi instead of the usual fatty food like General Zso's chicken. Your a great inspiration to me as are so many others in these forums. Thanks sweetie xxx ooo :eek:
 
hey scarlett - wow, your diary is full full full!!! look at all your support. you are amazing. you are surely an inspiration. thanks for that info. i read that before about cycling calories to stay out of plateauing - hope it works for some....my body doesnt like to get out of plateaus and when it does, it bounces right back for no doggone reason!! keep up the great work...you are doing awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Hey Scarlett, your diary is THE hot spot right now! I had to go back a few pages just to catch up! I'm always late to the party though, but I prefer to think of it as fashionably late! It's funny, I've read a bunch of info that sort of dances around the cycling calories idea, but that's the first time I've seen it spelled out so easily. Diet books try to make it so complicated sounding (it sells more books) but I think it's true, as long as that extra 400 cal. is nutritious (as my inner child says, "What? :eek: Chocolate cake isn't nutritious? What'll they think of next?")

Goodness it's not???
It's got eggs - that's protein
It's got milk - That's dairy
It's got flour - that's kinda whole grains
it's got chocolate- that's fat
it's basically all the food groups in one tasty little package -kinda like breakfast on a plate :)

Oh wait - thats wrong -bad maleficent bad...
 
Hi everyone, gosh I have to go back a few pages to catch up on my own diary too. WOW!!!! You guys are AMAZING!!!!

I'm so sorry for not answering you all individually. But I've been away from your diaries for a couple days and I'm anxious to catch up with you all.

Thank you for all the support. I truly believe that if it wasn't for you guys and gals I would not be able to do this. Losing weight is no fun when you're all alone. But when we do it together like this...as a family, it makes it almost...dare I say it? Enjoyable!!!!!
