Scared out of my mind

so! *happy dance* i lost those 4 lbs again + 1 ...yaay! I think im going to stick to weighing only once a week or every 2 weeks. Its so much better for me mentally-maybe when im a little bit more confident about my understanding of how my body works ill be able to weigh in more frequently and weather any temporary weight gain without feeling like its the end of the world - definately something to work towards!

 yayayay!! great news!!

And I agree with weighing in every week. I did that in the month of August. But I haven't weighed myself in a week. Have had couple of really bad food days. It is also good for me, mentally.

How's c25k going? I can't wait for W1D2. :) So excited we are doing this together and will finish almost around the same time. Then we can start talking about improving speed etc. Yay!

Have a good weekend before school starts!

Thanks antyoch, ana and juni for your enthusiastic cheers! Truly we make a good support team! :)

So today ended up being my free day lol-I really wasn’t planning on having one until next week but oh well. I'm thinking I ate somewhere around maintenance but I started doing some mindless munching near the end of the night so maybe a little more than that. At any rate I'm happy overall with how the night turned out. I don’t have that uncomfortable feeling of being too full thankfully. Anyway I was planning on forgoing circuit tomorrow and just starting week 2 of c25k but after tonight I think I’m going to end up doing circuit anyway.

So I’m going to a dinner party tomorrow night *NOOOO* -I cant have two free days in a row! So now I'm forced to work on self discipline where food is concerned. But how do I do this?! I’m thinking that since ive satisfied my sweet cravings (had chocolate truffle cake tonight :D) I wont have dessert tom unless its fruit-then ill just have to be really careful about portion sizes tomorrow and not go back for seconds. I can do this. i will do this. I will do this!!

Well its 4am and for some reason I feel wide awake.

I think I lost my gym membership card. I usually keep it in the pocket of my workout jacket but on the way to the gym today I realized it wasn’t in my pocket. They let me in with just my drivers license but if I don’t find it I'm going to have to buy another card. $20!! That pisses me off-its laminated for crying out loud-I mean how much does it really cost them? 5 cents? 10?! I hate losing things. I think it might have fallen out without me realizing it when I took my ipod out of my pocket.

Thanks for directing me to that h.i.i.t link core elements! i finially got around to reading it thoroughly and i had no idea it was more effective than steady rate endurance workouts. i want to eventually work on building muscle but for now im focusing on fat loss so this is exactly what i need to be working on.

This link also has some really valuable info for anyone reading this and is a newbie like me. I LOVE THIS FORUM!

Good luck with your dinner party tonight. I know how hard it is to have to give up a "free" day on a party or get-together day. Do the best you can and keep in mind that if you go over a little tonight, it's not the end of the world. You'll just get right back into it tomorrow. :)

Thanks for your vote of confidence Kara!

alright off to do week 2 of c25k!

enjoy the beautiful weather everyone!! -perfect for a picnic :)

And I agree with weighing in every week. I did that in the month of August. But I haven't weighed myself in a week. Have had couple of really bad food days. It is also good for me, mentally.

Yeah Juni, we have to find what works for us at the present time. Besides the way i look at it is if im eating within my daily calorie count then i wont really see real weight loss until at least a week anyway right? Good for you for being able to stick to only weighing in once a week for the month of August though- I started off with that intention but i think it only lasted about a week. Then i was back to daily weigh ins :p and dont worry about ur not so great food days! You’re doing a great job with your workouts so it will all balance out!

By the way im soooo jealous of you! I cant believe week one of c25k was easy for you!!!! Good for you though lol-truly, you have good endurance. I did week 2 earlier today and although it started off okay by the time i got to the second half i had to use landmarks as mini goals to keep me running until the running interval was over. Literally, it was “okay he’ll tell me to stop when i reach the red van, no? Okay the fire hydrant...shit, what the hell, where is he?!”

But i got through it which means there must be some improvement...? yes? Maybe? Whatever i feel great and thats all that matters right now. I have to admit i had to give myself a bit of a pep talk to get myself to go on the run though. I guess that 3 day break from running was a bit too long for me.

hope your work day is going well :)

I redid week 2 twice before I moved on. And then I redid week 5 ... oh for about 5 weeks before I moved on. :) If you feel that week 2 is kicking your butt, don't be afraid to go back to Week 1, Day 3 and hang there for a few more days.

Do the best you can and keep in mind that if you go over a little tonight, it's not the end of the world. You'll just get right back into it tomorrow. :)

This is why I like Kara's advice... It is sensible and practical and most importantly it doesn't make you feel guilty! :)

It is people like her who make this forum worth joining! :)

Hiya nightrunner, thanks for checking up on me
you're an :Angel_anim:

Hope your dinner was fun and that you stuck mostly to your goals.

Week 2 sounds like a big step up. I had about 3 days off from running as well and i really struggled today. Hopefully I'll have a bit more spring in my step tommorrow.

Have fun
Ana

well im happy to say everything went well last night! im thinking that having had a free day the day before totally helped me. there was a moment's challenge when i got home and saw the left over dessert from our own dinner party sat night on the kitchen table, but i think i was able to avoid temptation because i was exhausted-i went right to sleep after that. got a solid 7 hours of sleep in so feeling good-if a bit sore. my hamstrings hurt when i bend over. I need to do a better job of stretching after a run...

Heya :D

Its good even though the first week is tough for you stick to it!! it will get easier and you'll be so proud :D And kara has great advice there :D You just have to do it at your own pace! Dont forget you have to challenge yourself sometimes though :)

it's great you resisted temptation!! It seems like you've got a handle on your sweet cravings :D

Lets aim for another great week!! We can do it :D

Hi Nightrunner,

When i was doing c25k a few months back, I remember the first week as being pretty difficult. I did day two yesterday and it was fine. I am dreading week two though, 90 seconds for one or two intervals is fine, but for all the intervals. Lets see.

Re: i know what you mean by being exhausted. I get so exhausted by the time I get home these days that I can't think of anything but sleep. The other day when I saw that I had gained back some of the weight I had lost in Aug, I was depressed, but didn't go on a binge fest like I would have. I think that was because i was so exhausted. Plus I was working on something at the office and had to come home and finish it off, so crying over weight gain was not the priority.

You are doing really good with c25k. I repeated week two as well a few months back and won't mind doing it again this time around either.

School must be keeping you busy. Hope you have an amazing first week back!

Thanks for stopping by and for your encouragement everyone!!

Great news!!!! I found my membership card :D – i must have dropped it somewhere in the gym and someone picked it up for me *relief*

So for not having to dish out $20 for a new card i went and bought some almonds :) They’re relatively expensive so ive been trying to save up for them-but now i have some! They’ll be the perfect thing to snack on between classes.

So first day back is tomorrow!! I i was working at the campus daycare again yesterday and the campus is slowly coming to life with those living in the campus residence moving in.

So I did day two of week 2 c25k yesterday-a bit better though I’m still panting by the end. I was considering going back to week one, but i like pushing my body-the human body is truly a fascinating machine. It amazes me how i can keep going simply by changing my mindset. Near the end of the run, i was like okay that’s it I'm stopping. Then, i started to think of how satisfying it would feel if i completed the entire run-so i kept chanting “challenge” to myself over and over with every step I ran. And voila! I did it.

Thinking positive should never be underestimated!!!!!!!!!!!!

yay! nightrunner, you are back. was wondering where you were, then realized school must've started for you but it is starting tomorrow for you. you must be super excited.

i think with c25k you'll just keep getting better. i was done with week one today and it went pretty decently. now on to week two from friday. lets see how it goes.

enjoy the last day of summer before fall semester begins! good luck with the first day of school tomorrow!

Hahaha, nightrunner. I think we were posting on each other's dairies at the same time just now. So glad you are back in the forum.

I've never understood the whole $20 for replacement card. It is a stupid rule.

Aren't seed's (pumpkin, sesame) cheaper than almonds? Maybe you could buy a little bit of both? Pumpkin seeds (unsalted) are great too. Watch out for the serving size of almonds - they add up quite a bit in calories and it's so easy to overconsume.

Hey nightrunner,

good news on the gym card, you'll have to use it lots.

Good luck with the start of school, let us know how it goes. Sounds like the c25k is really working for you. It seems really motivating. Well done on getting to week 2....

catch ya later

ana
