We all had a good time
Last night was a lot of fun. Too bad my knee started bothering me, so I couldn't really dance too much. Either way, it was a good time all around. Let's see. First we went to eat dinner at the Thai restaurant. I ordered the spicy basil chicken noodle. Really good and only 380 calories per serving. I had two servings. But I hadn't eaten much all day just so I could enjoy the Thai guilt free. With all that said, I ate a total of 1,454 calories. I'm especially proud of myself because I stayed away from the fried ice cream...which in all of it's heartattack inducing glory, is even tastier than any fried thing I've ever eaten. Ah, only in a perfect world would all of the really unhealthy things be the things that were good for you.
After dinner, we walked on over to the World's Fair cultural exhibit. Saw some Korean fan dancing, an Israeli-Latin dance troop, this group that was all about show tunes and some other really cool things. My friend made a get well soon card for sick kids. We played games that taught us about world hunger and generally just got educated about issues impacting us globally. After that, the adventure began. We spent the better part of 10 minutes getting lost because Cornell is redoing their roads so a lot of streets have been closed down and we had to follow detour road signs that lead us around in a circle.
But finally, we made it to the RPCC building where we got to watch a poetry slam exhibition. It was so good. The students had a lot of different styles, and they even had this dude from Def Poetry Jam come up and throw down a couple of verses. The weird thing, I ran into my cousin who was up visiting his best friend that attends Cornell. We left the poetry slam and headed on over to a music concert featuring this violinst known as the mad violinst. He along with his band play contemporary music. They have no lead vocalist, and instead use the violin as the voice to convey moods. I really liked it.
The dance party was alright. To be honest, it was kinda lame. So my friends and I had to bring the party. But the worst punishment, there were no cute men around or at least we thought so. Tell me why, as soon as we were already in the car leaving the Cornell campus, we see all of these fine men making their way to the party!!! Oh fate how cruel she can be. We debated turning the car around and heading back to the party, but reason won out and we made our way back to campus. All and all, yesterday was a fun night. Now I'm ready to get back to the real world, which means going back to class.
