SaturdaySaint's Diary

Hey all... I just can't keep up with all this... Things have just been incredibly crazy... I think I've fallen pretty far into obscurity here anywho...so man new people that I want to meet and support...just can't commit the time to it... and I'm sorry. For all the people that used to come by..if you happen to read this, Thanks for all the support thus far... I'll probably come in and check to see occasionally... but probably not on a daily basis. I'm still going strong with my plan...exercising, eating right... still at 210.5...hope to get to onederland soon...and I will most certainly let you guys know when I get there! Just thought you'd all like to know whats going on... Late guys!

It's completely understandable to be busy.

Just keep it up on and off the forum.
The support will always be here when you need it most.

Howdy, Saturday,

drop.I hope everything is going well with you.
**************HAPPY VALENTINES DAY*************:)

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! SS you can't leave! I know how hard it is to keep up, I've given up on that. I try to hit 3 or 4 when I stop by, plus my own. (Bad moderator!) I agree, so many new people, I get totally lost. But at least stick to your own, and we'll pop in to see you. :)

Hey everyone....thanks for posting. And I'm trying my best to stick around... With us about to move to a new place, we're gonna be packing and what not... but maybe I'll try to get to posting in here. I am about 211.5 today... I've been exercising on a consistent basis, but I think either i'm still in a platue, or my sodium levels are really hi. I don't know... and hey Dari, Thank you so much for asking me to stay! It's just been hard and I feel bad that I can't post as much... plus there's not much to post about being that I'm not losing really.... which frustrates me more than you can imagine!

If I have a craving for something sweet, I find it helps to have some healthy carbs and/or some fruit (which is sweet), or low-fat yoghurt with fruit.

I haven't been on lately cos my internet was broken, and just fixed today, so I haven't properly caught up.

I also was feeling lost and thought I was wasting time looking for the threads I wanted at one stage. These days, to make this forum easier for me to use I have a couple of tricks. First I deleted all the subscriptions I had except for threads I definitely wanted to come back to. Then I went to my user CP, clicked on "Show all subscriptions", and added that page to my "Favorites" ("Bookmarks" if you use Firefox). I keep the "Favorites" list open whenever I'm on-line and just click on the "Weight Loss Forum - Subscriptions", if I want to check the threads I know I'm interested in. All the diaries I can keep up with are on one page. If they are updated and the list changes a bit, I can still get to it with that one click.

The other thing I sometimes do is click on my own name, look up "Find all posts by felici", and add that to my Favorites. That way I can go straight to the spot in someone else's thread, where I last posted, and read on from there. This address doesn't automatically update though. If you want an updated list you have to go back to "Find all posts" again.

Hey saturdaysaint, got ur pm says I have to be a member for 5 days b4 I can reply so I'll just reply on here. First off I'm 6' 1" I weight 230lbs when I started my diet....just realized the caption on my site was wrong. I just read your first post seems like your doing really well I mean your down 24lbs in 3 months thats more then I ever did in 3 months by a long shot. My main thing was cutting tons of soda and eating chips and cookies all nite. I dropped about 20lbs over the course of 6months just doing that. Then I got back to the gym lost more lifting and going on the eliptical. I never went on a diet, just instead of pigging out on junk I pig out on healthy food I eat lots of chicken and pick on cereal like Rice Chex's for snacks. If you think u've hit a plateau then chance something around like instead of going on the bike for 45mins at a steady pace, try doing intervals, 2mins extremely intense all out fast as you can pedal then go easy for 3mins then repeat that process for 30mins. Whats a typical day of food look like for you? include junk food too.

Hey Cinderelly, no, I knew what you meant... didn't think anything like that!

Felici, thanks for the advice... It does get so incredibly hard sometimes trying to weed through it all..

and Jasond, Thanks for all the information! I am only 5' 7", I don't drink soda, do occasionally have tortilla chips though. I want to pick up an eliptical machine... really miss that (about the only thing I miss) from working out at golds gym. Hate that place...so overrated. But I normally do about 20 minutes of cardio 3 times a week and Strength and sculpting the other 3 days. I need to get heavier weights... I also want to get a heavy bag and speed bag to get some boxing drills in. (and get some aggression out...) From what you said at the end of your message, it looks like you really incorporate the H.I.T. method. I remember when I lived in South Carolina I did that and repeated the process for 10 minutes, never upped it though... and I did lose some weight doing so...I think I need to start doing that again. Typical day of food for me? Lets see:

Breakfast:
Either 3/4 cup Cereal (Kelloggs fruit and yogurt) with 3/4 cup Light Vanilla Silk or 150 calorie pack of Organic Maple Spice Oatmeal. Sometimes 2 strips of turkey bacon.

Lunch:
Big Bowl of Romaine lettuce, tomato, onion, 1oz swiss cheese, 3 ounces of baked chicken breast, seasoned with ms. dash, (sometimes 2 more strips of turkey bacon), and 2 tbspns of light done right ranch dressing. 1 grapefruit. (I'm a sucker for grapefruit)

While at work, normally I'll find 2 hersey kisses or something similar and small.

(all the while, I'm having 101oz water a day)

and for Dinner, here's a typical dinner:

3.5 oz baked chicken breast
1-2 cups of veggies (peas and carrots or california mix)
1 cup of brown rice or some other carb.

And for a snack at night, I have a Weight Watchers Fudge Ice Cream Bar (only 110 calories..and the thing is HUGE) if we have them in the freezer...otherwise nothing. And while making dinner, I normally snitch on tortilla chips (not many) or Organic Triscuits... Thats about it... give me your "critique"... well..anyone for that matter..if you think I could "tweak" something, let me know...

jeez if anything your not eating enough. At breakfast your getting about 250-300calories, lunch looks about 550, and dinner about 400-500 calories. Total 1350 and throw in 400 calories for your snacking and and estimate errors I made. And you get 1750 calories. According to the American Cancer Society your should be getting 3591 calories a day to maintain your current weight of 212 and 3000 calories to drop 1lbs a week. I selected moderately active since your do cardio and workout 5 days a week. I'd double your chicken serving at dinner and eat a nutrition bar at work preferable with some protein if you can sneak it. You don't want your body to start storing fat and using muscle for fuel since your not eating enough.
