SaturdaySaint! Part 3, This time...it's personal!

Hey it sounds like you are doing awesome! Sounds like you are a little down. But from what I've read, you've got a new one in the house? Congrats!! Babies really do wear you down - in many ways!
And congrats on the 6th anniversary! My hubby and I are on our way to our 16th! It's been a long journey, but well worth it!

Keep it up, I'm staying tuned cause I got to see what the 50th day brings for you!

Did you measure yourself before beginning the program?

Oh and you obviously are changing cause you are doing harder routines than when you began the program, right? I would say you are getting benefits, just not seeing them with your own eyes.

Thx SweatPea,

When I don't see the results myself, I do tend to get a little down...but the thing that I love about myself since starting this, is that I don't let that be the deal breaker or end game. It pushes me to complete what I've started! I'm a very active father when it comes to helping with feedings in the middle of the night, meal prep for the other kids, etc. Mix that with working from around 7 a.m. till about 6 or 7 p.m. (thank GOD from home) and trying to get family time in...and midnight, and 3 or 4 a.m. feedings... exercising on top of that can be very taxing...

Thanks for the congrats! 16 years for you!? That's AWESOME!!!!

There will be pictures on day 60, at the beginning of phase 3. 10 days won't kill ya ;). I did measure myself at the onset so, I'll post the changes as well. Thank you SO much for your support SweatPea... it's a nice boost/pick me up for this morning. The Wife has taken over this mornings feeding so... p90x time!

Wow! SS you are a busy busy man. It sounds like you are making great progress with the exercises, even if not necessarily seeing their full benefit to your body just yet. If there are others saying it takes a little longer than this to get to that stage, then that is good news - because it is still coming! And a major reduction in stomach flab already!! Well done!! These next pics will be worth waiting for!!

How totally cool that MomtoOneMoreThanB4 has lost sooo much weight already!! Clearly the two of you have made sustainable changes and that is paying off for you both now.

Your wedding anniversary dinner sounds wonderful. A totally suitable occasion for departure from your usual foods. I'm glad you enjoyed it so thoroughly!

Yes...very very very busy. I just got done with my Cardio X and I'm really pushing it this week. Sweating like I did when I first started the program almost 2months ago.

MomtoMandK likes the new name you gave her! LOL. I'm gonna post a picture of the dinner shortly..but I have to shower and then shrink the picture! It was SOOO good!

Okay... so not showering just yet... here's a picture of Dinner from last night!

Oh yummy! You made that? Can you come and cook here? LOL Maybe you should be on Top Chef!!!

Good morning all. It's 9:40 and I have been done with Chest, Arms, and Shoulders + Ab Ripper X. And let me tell you, I'm feeling great! Really really good. Pushed myself to muscle failure. My arms are so tight right now. And I actually feel like I blasted it more than most mornings. I feel so good today. I'm wishing I had heavier weights. Can't wait till I get up to Georgia and have a full gym at my fingertips.

With the Chest, Arms, and Shoulders... Doing the 3 in 1 pushups... going down for 4 counts, and pushing pu for 4 counts, doing these things SUPER slow...I think my arms instantly ignited and were burning like I was the Human Torch. But when I was done, I felt like I was the Hulk! Oh OH OH OH OH... Btw.. you know how I always have been trying to get this stupid stomach overhang to go away...well guess what?! there's a strip on either side of my belly that....THERE'S NO OVERHANG!!!! I have to suck in my stomach to achieve this, but I. Don't. CARE!!!! w00t!!! I need to get back to work though... I'll check back in a little later!

That's awesome! I wish I could suck my tummy in with no over-hang!

:beerchug:

Oh man, you are going to be so ripped. I haven't even had a look at the whole p90 thing,, SIGH.

So..this morning was yoga x. Ah... Good good stretching. Started sweating almost immediately. Then the wrist pain set in. Fun for me right? Well..then they started to swell a little bit. I ended up doing some leg raises, and my wife observed that I need to go see a chiropractor. Apparently, because my back is out of line, my legs don't raise properly. As well as my hip flexors seem to be "out of whack". I just don't get my wrist issues though. I really don't. I need to go get a once over by a doctor. Anyway... enough of that. I'm just happy I did it! Tomorrow is legs and back... plus Ab Ripper X. Can't wait. Suuuuweet! How's everyone doing today!?

It's great that you are getting there with the tummy! It's great that you are so motivated.

However, swollen wrists!! Not good! Take some ibuprofen and get professional help. I agree with you that it's needed. It's very likely that they will get better faster, the faster you see someone and quite possible that you could develop a long term problem if you try to ignore it.

Soooo.. this morning was Legs & Arms + Ab Ripper X. Good good GOOD stuff!

Got up this morning at 5 a.m. Went out to the living room to exercise. mom2onemorethanb4 was sleep with the little man... and they had taken up the room for my exercise space.... soooooo I went back to the bedroom, meditated for a little bit... stayed still...quiet.. it was very relaxing. They woke up at 6:30 and I instantly Pressed Play and brought it. THe sweat started pouring off of me... My legs are burning. I just wish I had a chin up bar. Then comes Ab Ripper X. I was on my way to doing 50 mason twists again... and then my son fell (not the newborn)... you know...someting I observed about myself. I started doing the "bicycle" and I do that..no problem. Then they ask me to do reverse bicycles. Now..I'm a drummer. Have been for years. and I have such a hard time doing those. Anyway, I have to get to work. I just thought I'd pop in and say howdy doo!!!! Almost to Recovery Week #2!!!

Yeah..I took some ibuprofen...and the swelling went down..which makes me happy. I will get to a chiropractor soon. Scouts honor!

Okay... Happy Happy Happy moment for me. If you've followed my diary at all..you know that I haven't had a pull up bar for p90x. Well...I was about to put my daughter to bed.. and I walk toward the hallway, and look up..and look at that... Right above me, a "shelf"...so I did what any natural, normal man would do... I try to climb it and do chin ups...DUH...

I wasn't sure if I was actually able to do them...well, in my best "Stewart" voice: LOOK WHAT I CAN DO?!?!! That's all. Kenpo X tomorrow... will post then! :jump::jump::jump:

Yay! SS! That's awesome. :jump:

I was wondering about the pull-up bar thing. I still haven't committed to buying the program.

One question, do they push the "supplements" or do you not bother with them?

Good morning all! Hows it going? Kenpo morning. It rocked. Though... I was feeling a little exhausted, it was still good. Brought it like usual. Got really sweaty, really felt good. It's always good to do Kenpo. When I get to Georgia, I'm going to take up some form of Martial Arts. Not sure if I'm going to do Kick Boxing, or Jeet Kun Do, Maybe Aikido. I just want to do something..maybe Capeora (That is SO spelled wrong and I don't feel like googling it.) Anyway, I figured I'd just pop in..say whats up... Oh..and SweatPea, yeah... They do mention the "p90x recovery drink" But don't really mention the nutrition guides during the vids. I can't afford all their specialty meals..not yet atleast..so I created my own based on my earlier nutrition. And I have my own protein shakes made out of protein powder, 1 cup soy milk, 1 frozen banana..a pinch of cinnamon. MmmMmmMmmm... so good! I just want to go a few rounds with a punching bag...And after last nights pull up bout...I realized that..if I had a chin up bar...I'd be doing them all the time. I forgot just how much I love doing them. The achievement you feel...it's awesome. XStretch tomorrow. Then Recovery week 2. w00t!!!

That's good to know that the program works w/o the supplements.

Btw, I used to be in a martial arts called Tang Soo Do. I loved it! It's an earlier form of Tae Kwan Do - and it doesn't focus on the "sport" so much as the "art". I think you will love it. I might just get the p90 just for the kenpo workout!

I quit going to martial arts for one my oldest son and I were doing it together - and he decided he didn't want to continue. I was the only woman in the class, and felt not right going by myself. And for two, my head wasn't "in" it anymore. I mean you have really got to be in it - body, mind, and soul. And I was having a tough time last year with all of the above. ;)

When will you be going to GA? Is this a move?

Yeah, I want to throw myself into a martial art. I like fluid movement... I know the Aikido isn't really fluid, more so throws. But the Kickboxing would be alot of movement, the Jeet Kun Do is Bruce Lee's form and we know how fast he moves...and Capeora, a friend of mine, she does that and LOVES it... If you're not familiar with it, it's Brazilian... alot of people call it the breakdancing Martial Arts. I need to look into Tang Soo Do. I did Tae Kwan Do years ago...didn't like how much of a Sport it was...like you said. I mean.. "Yeah... now... lets break some boards..and see if you can break a concrete block". Yeah..that's not up my alley. But if Tang Soo Do is more about the Art..I may just look into that. Thanks for the heads up...I'm gonna do some research on it now..

And yeah..Georgia is a move... I'm going up there next week for a few days to get things in line for the fam before we all go at the end of hte month!

I've watched a lot of martial arts programs on tv, so I've seen Capeoria (sp?) I think it's pretty cool.

Kickboxing is more of an exercise that an "art", but if that's what you enjoy, go for it! I think the martial arts is a very cool thing to do, and it really gets you in tune with your body and mind. It's more of a mind thing than anything, if you think you can do something, you can do it!

I remember we broke a few boards, but that was just to show us how strong we could be with our kicks - no concrete though. Phish!

LOL... I took Tae Kwan when I was like, 11, so...I never was able to do the concrete. But I was able to do the boards no problem. I just want to be able to put this body to use now... get athletic in some aspect. My forte's in this life have, for the most part involved sitting down (Computer work, Graphic Design, drumming...). I don't find running a "Hobby". Then again... it's extremely hot here...maybe if I get to a cooler climate that'd change. But I AM excited about joining up with a dojo. :D
