SaturdaySaint! Part 3, This time...it's personal!

6:01a.m. July 29,2007. Core Synergistics

Awake
Tired
Ready to Rock and Roll

Today is another progress pic day. And Core... I was up at 4:30 a.m. On a Sunday. Only reason I'm up this early today is we're on day 2 of having a garage sale. It's hot, muggy, and sticky outside. But it's good for sweating (I'm in Florida). I manage through about the same amount of Core today... it's a bit rough.. but still managed. Sweated alot. Down to 190 lb's today. Not bad at all. Beginning week 3. I wonder, does the definition that I see everyone gaining after 30 days start showing in week three? I've lost inches, lost weight...but I want to see the sculpting. I know it's still early in the program... And I'm impatient. I think I just need to go with the flow and work it out!

For some reason..I just couldn't do the plank to chatarunga this morning... my shoulders were actually the thing that was burning. Not my thighs or core, which was weird. I think its attributed to the fact that I didn't get a chance to do X Stretch yesterday...between the garage sale, mowing the lawn, etc...it was hectic...

5:45 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2007. Cardio X

That's more like it!
Sweat...good!

Good morning ladies and gents! This is a great morning. Cardio X went very well...sweated alot... feel the burn. I need to drink some water..hydrate... This weekend went well, the garage sale was profitable, we celebrated my sons 3rd birthday. I had a little slice of his cake...for 2 reasons. 1, we've been so financially down, we've never really been able to have this "big" of a deal for his birthday and this year we were able to. And 2, I didn't want to dissapoint the lad, he was SO looking forward to this. So it was good. Cardio X took it right outta me. Besides, the wife told me yesterday that it's been forever since I had a "cheat day", which I rarely do... I have been so paranoid about having anything out of the ordinary for me... anything from the "old me"... I just don't want it... and theres a lingering worry that after having a meal... I'd start allowing it back into my life..which I don't want. Anyway...
This is the week that I turn in my two week notice as I am switching jobs...it's a pity though, because my current job has been with me through my transformation... and I'm sure they want to see it through til the end...

I'll just send them pictures. :p

OKay..here's the Picture update..sorry for the delay!

Not too much of a change... but I read on a different message board that you really don't start seeing the real definition changes..the hard core changes until 50 days...which I'm fine with... I feel better since I've been doing this! Whattya guys think?

6:12a.m. July 31, 2007. Arms & Shoulders. Ab Ripper X.

I've pushed
I pressed
I have tight tricepts

I think I've worked the hardest I've ever worked during p90x this morning. My biceps and tri's are so sight right now... I got up all bleary eyed, not sure how today was going to go... I didn't stay up late, but I think my body is STILL getting used to being up at 4:30 a.m. It's rough at times. I did all the reps for this... struggled a tad... I'm using 10lb weights right now (frankly because I don't have anything higher)..but they do the trick. I sweat and my muscles get tighter, so I know they're working.

Then there's Ab Ripper X. I read in another thread specifically about ab ripper x and how it works everything, then finally, when everything else is toned up during the 17 minutes, then it attacks your abs (or something to that affect) which is fine. I started out strong...about 3 quarters of the way through it, I had to stop (right around when I have to do fifer scissor kicks). then I picked back up during the leg climbs, and then..rounded it all out with the murphy twist (or whatever it's called).. Now I couldn't quite muster up the 50 (or 40 for that matter) that he was requesting... but I was able to close!!! Anyway, it's time for shower then breakfast. I've been having protein bars for a late morning snack, and a soymilk/frozen banana/peanutbutter milkshake for more protein. Any ways you can think of to help boost my protein level other than eating larger portions of meat (which I have been doing). HOpe to hear from SOMEONE... lol...

later.

Oh jeez, I suck. I totally lost track where I posted. haha Oops... anyways, you are doing so well! Man, I give you credit, because this morning I actually started my first workout doing P90 (Sculpt 1-2) and let me tell you, it kicked my arse. hahaa! I thought that was pretty weird, because I've been working out hard for the past four months. (Doing cardio and weight training) It was only 30 mins, but I swear I was invigorated but soooo tired after a couple hours of just doing a few chores at home. If you're just starting out with exercise, I can see how Power 90 can break you. Wow... Now, I have a couple friends doing P90X and they're loving it. (No matter how difficult it is.) I'm thinking maybe down the line, I'll purchase P90x. It's just too damn advanced for me! haha Well, I'm going to definitely keep an eye on your journal. You're killing it, SS! Keep up the good work!

You don't suck! It's FINE. I think I'm going to get p90 for my wife for when she's done giving birth. She doesn't know what program she wants...but she thinks that p90 will be good for her. And I agree! You said I was killing it..I think it's killing ME at this point. I pushed so hard this morning... my whole entire body was shaking and I couldn't get off the ground for a few minutes this morning... full. body. shakes. It was insane! Anyway...thank you SO much for the support. I'll do my best to pop into your diary to see how you're doing! Later!

You're a crazy man! Well done, you're keeping me motivated and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

5:20 a.m. August 1, 2007. Yoga X

So much for that one...

Okay, so I get up at 4:30 as usual, go get on my clothes while in my bathroom, a little bit out of it still, I hear the bedroom door open. My wife, who is 38 weeks pregnant walks in, looking wide awake. My first thought? It's time... here we go! But I was ahead of the game. She has just been up for an hour... couldn't get to sleep. Waited to hear my alarm go off. And we chatted for a little bit. Talked about the baby, our upcoming move. I don't mind missing it this morning. It was a good "Connection" talk if that makes any sense. My wife had that cliche "late stages of pregnant" look kickin this morning. And the word "Cliche" was not to be a negative thing. It was a beautiful thing this morning. She is a beautiful woman, and I'm so blessed to have her. Yoga X is an hour and a half... no way I could get it done and get ready for work in time. So (being that it's 5:25 now. Speaking of which. Will missing one day throw my progress off. It seems that they have the workouts in a certain order, and I don't want to mess that up. I know some days will be out of my control (if the power goes out and I miss my wake up call, or my wife goes into labor at 3 a.m. etc etc etc), and I know I got only half way through yoga last week, and didn't even have a chance to turn it on this week. Missing Yoga X will not be a trend...I can promise you that! I enjoyed it the first week. Last week I was just having a very bad morning. And this week, my wife is definitely more important. Her and the kids are why I get up everyday! I'm getting fit for them so that they can have me around longer...I'm getting fit for me...so that I can see the kids grow up and grow old with my wife. P90X is helping me get there! Bring it!

Oh by the way, congrats with the upcoming baby! :D As for your wife, I'm not sure as to what fitness level she's at, but there's another program by BeachBody that's amazing: Debbie Sieber's Slim in 6. I swear after 6 weeks, she'll COMPLETELY see a difference!

It's wonderful knowing how important your family is to you, SS. :D So you missed the Yoga part? That's fine.... you're waking your arse up 6 days in a week to work up a sweat. I highly doubt a couple days will effect your results. Heck.. maybe it's good to let your muscles rest and catch up. You're doing awesome! By the way... the "Bring it" made me clap my hands here at my computer! haha It was great! Wishing you and your family the best....

Those talks with your partner are so important. Sorry you missed the workout, but it was worth it!! Hope all is going well. I know your weight is just dropping off!!:)

Hey you - what a touching post -t hat is why I like you so much :) Your a great guy and an awesome daddy the family is just as lucky to have you as you are to have them...

Thanks Sheryl! Both me and my wife were looking at all the beachbody workouts... We looked at Slim in Six... that was the other one we were looking at for her... so it's a toss up. My family is VERY important to me. Growing up in a broken home, and with very little support from one side of my family, I vowed to take care of my own... and I'm gonna hold true to that. I am also apart of Beachbody's forums, and I was told yesterday that the recovery weeks (the first one especially...which is next week..yikes!) really do it in to ya. I'm actually really anticipating it. plenty of cardio and yoga in that week! I find myself saying "Bring it" or calling the people one the video "the kiddies" and such. I'm addicted to getting up and doing these exercises! Have a great day!

Eh...it was only Yoga...no big miss...though I do enjoy getting all Bendy! :)

Thanks Cinder! It means alot to me to have that family time!

Thursday, August 2, 2007. Legs & Back + Ab Ripper X.

The Burn gets better and better

Good morning ladies and germs! S.Saint here. Just got done with this mornings @$$ beating by p90x. It worked me... and it worked me good. I'm finding that, I"m gaining more confidence with the work outs, and it's enabling me to push harder and harder each time. I was tracking my reps like it tells you to do, and I'm doing a few more reps in each set than last week. And I'm sweating more... My legs were pretty dern close to muscle failure by the end, and again, being that I don't have a chin up bar or resistance bands yet, I'm having to do modified pull ups with weights...it's kinda complicated but it works.

Then comes Ab Ripper (I hate it..but I LOVE it) X. My abdominal muscles started cramping up after the 3rd or 4th set so...that tells me I'm doing something right... but by the time the mason twist came up at the end...I was just about completely toast. I still managed to pump 30 reps out... but when I hit 30, I swear I looked like I was in a car accident because I twisted right to the ground in a heap of burning muscles... Ab Ripper X Brought it today! lol.

Recovery week is coming up. I'm excited! I've heard good things about it.
