Sasse's Weight Loss Diary

I went out for coffee with a friend of mine Saturday afternoon. She is fairly new in my life as we have only really been friends for about a year so we are still getting to know each other. She is a very athletic *she runs* healthy looking gal, great sense of humor and we are very good at chatting about nothing for hours upon hours. Anways...I had mentioned to her about this forum and what it has meant to have so many good people to talk to. She said it is so important to have support. She was quiet for a bit, kind of just looking at her coffee and so I asked her if she was ok. She said, you know I struggled with balimia for years and years. I havent thrown up for about 2 years, but I had to get my teeth capped and I really wasnt doing well for a long time. She explained how much she struggled with her body image and making sure she was eating properly (now that she has given up her weight loss tool) I myself am a binger but have never purged..but I completely understand that uncontrollable urge to eat. She said she was going to look at this forum, because she felt it might be a good place for her to meet people who struggle with weight and body image. We both really learned a lot from each other and it was great to talk without someone trying to 'fix' us. Sometimes we may not need answers to what bothers us, just a friend who will listen and care.

Sooooo Frustrating!!!

It almost 3am and I woke up HUNGRY  . There is no way that I should be hungry, I Know im just craving...stuff. Now the good news is normally, I would have gotten up, made some food, then went back to bed. This time, I got up, got a cold glass of water with ice, so i can crunch the cubes if i want. Came on here and vented, and now im going back to bed. lol. Turned out to be not such a bad thing, cuz i now know that i can make a better choice.

a [piece of toast is a good option when that happens. Its only 60-80 calories. Alternatively leftovers :D

I cant sleep on an empty stomach, its so annoying

That is a good option wishes, thanks :)
So, it is weigh in day for me, and I am down 2 pounds... WOOHOO!
Good Start to my day
Michelle :)

Today has been pretty busy at work and ive actually taken a moment for myself to breath... Ive picking at different foods today (grazing) which is danger danger for me as i quickly lose track of what has gone in my mouth.
FIRST MEAL
shrimp & vegetable lettuce wraps
1 apple
1 can of club soda

SECOND MEAL
chicken strips *3
fries
500ml water

donut and coffee mid afternoon *normally I can tell myself that we deserve a treat once in a while, but I honetly didnt want it all that much. Something to work on.

THIRD MEAL
vegetable beef stirfry *1 serving beef, 1 1/2 cups veggies
couscous *1/2 cup
diet pepsi

Had a hard time getting in enough water today, think that is a big weakness for me. Strange that far more effort goes into preparing my meals, yet pouring a glass of H20 and popping in some ice cubes seems to be Sooooooooo hard! lol. Im honestly thinking of setting the timer on my cell to remind myself to Drink!...

So far so good today. I got up early, worked out on my exercise ball, had breakfast and even did my dishes before starting work at 8 am ( This is something that NEVER usually happens...only in my dreams usually ) It felt really good to be that organized and so far it has really helped me handle my day.

Hey Michelle

Good to read about your progress and the talk with your friend, lets us come out of the bubble and realise there are also others with problems. And I think you hit the nail on the head with saying we all have problems, and we just need someone to listen and care...
About the water-thing, I do that too. I simple forget it, so instead I keep a waterbottle by my pc, and the tele... I keep one in my bag too, somehow that makes me drink regularly rather than remebering getting a glass and fílling it up (but then again, my mother always say I will forget my head if it wasn't bolted to my neck:)) Anyway, hope you get the waterthing down:)
Have a nice day:)

I think thats a great idea Mahatt, more water bottles may do the trick. I know today ive had one glued to my side practically to remind myself to keep drinking. I do find that a heck of a lot easier than drinking from a glass. Thanks so much for your input.
Michelle :)

yeah i have to agree, water bottles are awesome. Especially sipper ones.
You get into the habit of just reaching for one and automagicly drinking after a while :)

Hey Sasse! Sounds like your working really hard to get where ya wanna be, congrats! Hope to hear lots more to come on your progress :)

Thank you turtlegirl, I know it was only a couple pounds but it feels good. I know that eventually i will get some sort of a schedule happening. Im having a bit of a rocky start, but Im determined to keep going.
Thanks so much for the encouraging words Jess, very nice to meet you.
HI wishes...I did much better with the water today...amazing how much better one feels when they are hydrated...lol I agree that the sipper bottles are the most effective, I drink without really thinking about it, and the next thing ya know its an empty bottle. So much easier than forcing 2 liters down.

Tomorrow ive decided to get back to the gym. Ive been paying monthly for a pretty card that SAYS I have a gym membership, yet I havent been actually flashing that plastic at the gym. So tomorrow i will be getting into my comfy clothing and runners so that i can go sweat some poundage off. Why does it have to be sooooo hard to get back into a routine at the gym!!! lol

Good luck, girl! It's hard to get in there and find a rythym. Now that I have one (sorta  ) I'm afraid to take any time off from it because I know I won't want to go back. Although I'm enjoying seeing the results (slowly, but still seeing!), I will probably never LIKE to go.

Hey Braz,

Good to see you could use my advice, I thought it was only me who had a waterbottlefetich:) Nice to know I am not alone (cough, cough, wishes, cough) Well, good to see you are getting to the gym, its weird at first, but hopefully it'll get easier:) Have a good workout:)

Thanks for the support, its very much needed and welcomed. I did manage to go to the gym. Wow, much harder than I remember...but it felt really good..after i was done..lol. Funny thing though, we are having freakish cold weather at the moment...and I came out of the gym all sweaty, and could feel the sweat wanting to freeze as i ran to my car... That was a little TOO refreshing after the workout.
Michelle :)
