Today, feeling much better..although I am stiff, but not disabled...my same old foot is hurting more than normal, so I will probably
Do some stretching yoga today, but no cardio. I ate a big breakfast and have to go to a Chinese family gathering today (Lantern festival...the last day of the year they can set off numerous fireworks and eat a special type of dumplingn for good luck and prosperity, and I'm sure there are some evil spirits they will shoo away too! Not sure exactly what I'm in for, but also sure a lot of food will be involved!
I weighed in today, and thought my scale would be wirelessly synching (but it still is not...for the record, this is the Aria wireless scale, made by the same company as fitbit...good concept to have them all talk to each other, but the scale doesn't want to talk much...so I'll just keep track the old fashioned way. Anyway, I weighed 170.9 with 35% bodyfat. I'm ok with that today...would love to be in the 160's...and I'll eventually get there, so I keep trudging on one day at a time. By the way, how do you change your signature block in this new forum setup? I've looked, but can't figure it out!
maryann Thanks for your encouragement! You are right, gotta keep training and I'll be able to do the marathon! I am thinking after this one, I'll probably focus on the 1/2 marathon from now on...I think that distance may be more suited to me (and my foot!). You too are doing great...it's good to share the journey with so many like minded people on here!
mrvee, I don't think I'll be saving too much gas...at least the type you put in your car! You are really doing well...amazing progress and also a lot of persistence! Keep it up!
Cory, I couldn't run 2 miles either when I started this journey, and I didn't run at all for probably the first year into the journey...then I was inspired by Katehuneybun on this forum to try it..and I started very slowly, and did a lot of walking, and have slowly worked my way up from there. I used to run when I was younger, but hadn't done it in a long time, so for me it was nice to get that part of my life back! Running is not for everybody, but it has been good for me...I would recommend walking a lot before you try to run though!
Well, all, have a great weekend, and I wish good choices to all!!
