Hey Sarah,

Just got caught up on your diary. You're doing wonderful. Hawaii is so close now, I'm so excited for you!

Way to go on the size 16 blouse, you'll be wearing it untucked in no time.

I sure wish I had your discipline when it comes to buffets, I'm afraid I just go nuts trying to get as much of what I like as possible. I usually feel really crummy afterwards. Bad thing amout Americanized chinese food is I no matter how full I am after, a few hours later I'm starving. I have no idea why it affects me that way!

Keep up the good work!

Hi Sarah,

Just wanted to stop in and say "thanks!" for your kind words in my journal. I read through your last few posts and loved the fact that you are so motivated and that you are living abroad! I am a travel junkie and am sad to say Asia remains on my bucket list. I remember when I first moved to Australia I had a hard time with the food (and it honestly wasn't that different than "American" food now that I look back). I'm in California now and am so grateful for the quality fresh produce year round! Veggies for breakfast sounds interesting ~ I might have to try that!

Have a wonderful time on your trip to Hawaii! I visited Kauai last June and looooooved it. It sounds like you work very hard so have the best time ~ you deserve it!

Hey ya'll!

Well, the "energizer bunny" in me needed a battery recharge today, so I took an exercise break...as much as I feel guilty about it, my body told me by being light-headed etc that I needed a break. I'm already feeling better, so I'll get back at it tomorrow!

Breakfast was 2 fried eggs, 3 slices bacon, sauteed chicken chunks (complete with shards of bone...:-/) and some stir-fried leafy green veggy.. Then a couple of mandarin oranges. Lunch was 1 cheese burger (home-made, fried rice, chinese veggies and the egg fu young without gravy.

Going to try to go to bed early tonight to give my body a chance to recoupe after a long day...and get jazzed back up for tomorrow!

Munch: I am so looking forward to Hawaii...a mumu can't b far away now...and for once in my life, I'm not going to look like a cow in it!e

Alice29: ...Living in China has it has it's moments! So far, the good far outweighs the bad. We've been here for almost 2 years now. and we'll probably be here for another 3-4 years...so I guess I better get used to it!

Brawny77" Yes, you are right...just another speed bump in the life of a woman...I'm over it now!

Have a great day ya'll...and I'll be pumped to report a good workout tomorrow..and the next day...all the way to Hawaii...and then some!

The food sounds so delish Sarah! Good job :) And i think you can afford to take a break from working out! Well deserved.

Enjoy Hawaii!!! So jealous while I fight it out in this new york cold!

I think it's awesome that you trust and listen to your body when it tells you to take a short break. Look forward to seeing another great elliptical result in the morning and :iagree: with success on it sounding like very delish meals that you've been listing. I like how you're getting a mix of cultures into your meal planning.

Thanks Feelinggooder and Success!!

Feeling much better today...back to my old self!

So, today I started out at my old friend the elliptical (told ya so!) for 1 hour and burned out 868 cal, then a whopping 3 minutes on the rowing machine to get my back stretched out, then 25 count'em 25 crunches in the incline board!

Then I had breakfast of 2 eggs, 3 slices of bacon, some braised chicken and leafy green veggies. Lunch was smoked turkey, stir fried veggies and fried rice with 2 mandarin oranges. Really sucked down the water today...the humidity is really low here and it seems to just suck the water out of me!

Dinner: Hot green tea, no sugar.

2 more days until Hawaii!

Ahhh, looks like you're back to the normal routine with a couple added exercises. Impressive number on the inclined crunches, those can really be torturous....

Good luck on the pre-Hawaii weigh in and have a blast on the vacation!!

Oh yay! So exciting. I love how you're able to just get right back into it, great job!

I noticed you had said you lived in South Carolina earlier. My fiance and I are going to Charleston, SC in June for our honey moon. I'm so excited. It will be my very first view of the ocean! Do you have any suggestions of places to visit? We're going to be staying at this small type hotel that offers wine everynight and sherry night caps. I'll let you know the name once I remember, my fiance made the reservations.

Hey Munch,

Ahh...Charleston! A beautiful old grand dame city! I suggest to take a horse drawn carriage ride around the "Battery"...lots of old southern charm houses, then go shopping on "king street"...can be pricey, but fun to shop, then go for dinner at one of the nice restaurants in around Broad street...and walk around the shops in that area (watch out for the home-made pecan prelines though...they can kill a diet any day!) . I lived in Columbia, SC so we went to Charleston for the weekends some time..I really liked it!\\

Feelinggooder: Thanks for the encouragement...yep, I try not to get out of routine...i'm on a roll and don't want to get off!

So today, did my 1 hour on the elliptical for 737 cal (different machine again), then had my breakfast of 2 fried eggs, 3 slices bacon, sauteed eggplant and stirfried cabbage and my normal walnuts, dried cranberries and cheese combo.

Off to work now...more later!

It's getting ready to be "Spring festival" here in China...just before the Chinese new year and a big national holiday. Government offices are closed for 2 weeks, school is out for a month...big deal. Fireworks go off like crazy at all hours and not just little whimpy things...these are big booms...the Chinese believe that for every boom, there is an evil spirit that will stay away..at this rate the whole country must be free of evil spirits! We have ear plugs for the constant roar! Our answer to that is get the hell out of dodge and go to Hawaii!

Lunch today was fried rice, smoked turkey and chinese veggies, then a banana for desert...I normally don't eat bananas because they are so high carb...but I think Rod (husband) was trying to clean out the stocks before we leave...so I just 'had' to eat it!

Dinner: hot green tea.

Aloha Sarah

Have a great trip. Enjoy all the activity the new fit you can now do!!

Take that hubster of yours on a long beach walk!

Have a wonderful break in Hawaii Sarah. Sounds like it's a great time to get the heck out of there. My dogs would be freaking out at the noise, as would I! Cheers, Cate

Thanks Brawny77 & Cate...it's now the Vacation eve, and I havn't packed a stitch...I'll get it, but right now decompress from an overloaded day!

For starters today, I got up and did my elliptical for 1 hour for 832...really had to push it today, just wasn't feeling the energy..but gutted it out and always glad I did afterwards!

Then breakfast, 2 fried eggs, sauteed chicken...I'd like to say nuggets, but in reality its chunks of chicken and bone pieces about the size of a nugget...not sure why they cut it that way, but they do...always careful with chicken here!, 3 slices bacon and some sauteed cabbage.

Lunch: smoked turkey, chinese veggies and fried rice and a banana

Dinner: Hot green tea.

Today I wore some corduroy jeans...these were pants I had when I was big...took them to an alterations person and they took them apart and cut them down to fit back inthe fall...when I put them on today, they were really big again...so I just synched them up with my belt and kept going...it's really cold here and I wanted the warmth...I guess I'm going to have to break down and buy some new ones for next years winter!

I probably wont be posting much over the next week as I'm not taking my computer with me, only the ipod touch...so I wish everyone a happy Chinese Year of the Dragon and see you back around the 1st of Feb!

Sarah

AHeya Sarah

Have a wonderful time sweetie, can wait to hear all about it :)

OMG Sarah an hour on the elliptical that is amazing... I got on one at the gym for about 2 minutes and my legs screamed stop I don’t like it.

Have a wonderful time in Hawaii, you will have to let me know all the good stuff to do as my girlfriend and her husband are going in March for a holiday.

Thanks everyone!! Just peeked in here before I go...and let all my peeps know that I just got on the scale this morning (before the 1 hr on the elliptical for 849 cal) and I'm proud to report I have now broken the 200 barrier...weighing in at an "unofficial" 198 lbs = 90kg! I'm super pumped...and to top it off, I have a swimming suit that fits so I don't have to go shopping for one!

Thanks everyone for your kind encouraging words..I'm so ready for this little break! I'll do my official 1st of the month weigh-in when I get back...super-motivated now to keep it going!
