ASo, a day seems like I've just eaten all day, and looking at my calorie count, it shows...somewhere near 2500 calls today...it all started this morning when I just felt like I didn't get enough at breakfast, even though my stomach was full, my mouth wanted more...and so it continued all day. None of my trigger foods, and nothing super processed, just too much of it! Gotta get that out of my system before I get back on the plane tomorrow headed for Brazil...a long series of flights. Tomorrow's a new day... So I will get better!

I was the same really Sarah. I had a small breakfast of porridge, instead of my usual substantial one & wanted to eat all day. Like you I ate too much of good, healthy food! I feel very full today! I think we are more in tune with our bodies these days & maybe we were being told that we needed a day off! Hope your trip to Brazil goes well, xo Cate

Thanks Cate! I think you are right...we are more in-tuned!

Here's the pushup chart...I kept the end goal the same, but I changed the rampup...1st week not too bad...this is going to get really tough though...I can tell!

I'm continuing on walking at an incline and then doing some running (today, I did 15 min, then walked for awhile, then did another 5 minutes of running...I'm liking this workout and I still have the occasional day where I do the elliptical.

I'll update after Brazil trip (1 week), and hopefully keep better control of my portions this time!

Sarah

AHeya Sarah

Sorry....again i have been a rubbish friend :(

88lb lost......that is just bloody awesome!!! so so proud of you :hurray: :hurray: I'm blown away that you managed to still lose while you were away!! That's brilliant :)

Your photo's look amazing :) You look stunning!!!!

So glad you had such a great time away. I can't believe some people found fault with how you have lost 88lbs!!! it must be jealousy!

You are so right, it is definately 'choices' rather than luck. I have really found your diary inspiring, your choices are awesome :)

:hurray: :hurray: Well done on the 1km run sweetie, that is so cool :) I'm scared by your aim to do those push ups..........i am totally weedy and probably couldn't manage 2. That's a really good idea, changing your exercise routine. I was going to try and shake things up a bit too but right now actually doing something would be good for me :)

Catching up with your diary has really given me a kick up the bum to really try hard to lose this last lot of weight. Your focus is inspiring :)

AThanks Kate!
I'm here in Rio airport loung as I type this. I did keep my exercise goals, walking up and down hills for 45 min each morning, then running for 15 minutes. I also kept my pushup thing going. Up to 10 pushups x 3 sets this morning, so pretty happy about that. I had a blouse that I bought in France with me. It's winter here so it is long sleeve. When I bought it it was slightly snug around my hips...I'm proud to report now that it was starting to look baggy. Hard for me to believe! I'm not sure I've lost pounds, but I'm pretty sure I've continued to lose some inches. My measurements should tell the tale when I get back. My eating was better this time in Brazil, but still not as good as it should have been...this beef here is just too good!
When I get back to China I'll have a little over a month home to get really serious about losing this next 39 pounds! That's my aim, so help me stay with it!
Sarah

Hi Sarah, You have developed good habits now & find a way around any obstacles. Good news about the French blouse being loose. When you get back we may all have to help strengthen one another's resolve & continue on with some more determination. There is no going back though for any of us! xoxo Cate

Thanks Cate!

So, I arrived safe and sound here in Shenyang, China this morning. Got a little nap and some lunch, then did a good 65 min on the elliptical...had to do the elliptical for fear of falling asleep on the treadmill! Felt good to move my bones after 2 nights in the airplanes!

For the time in Brazil, it went OK...I stayed on my exercise plans...felt OK about food choices..didn't go crazy on the portions, didn't eat any of my forbidden fruits...but probably ate more than I should have...tell will be told when I weigh in July.

Here's my pushup progress...I'm pretty pleased...able to do 10 good pushups in a row, and doing 3 sets of 10 reps. I havn't done a "how many can I do in 1 minute without stopping" drives...I'm feeling pretty good about that!

So, for the next month, (until I go on the road to the US for a week again), I'm going to really focus on getting this next big step of weightloss jump started. Going to keep my exercise at the current level, and crank back the calories a little bit and spread the meals out over the day, but nothing after 6:00...

Wish me good choices!

Sarah

AHeya Sarah :)

It blows me away every time i read your diary with how totally bloody dedicated and focused you are to eating and exercising!!!! I am so bloody rubbish compared to what i use to be. I know i am working much longer days but i wish i had your motivation to just bloody get on and do it.............Like i said on my diary, i have set myself a target and i WILL bloody do it, just to try and impress you lol :)
And, OMG about the blouse!! :hurray: That is so cool :) Working out will definately do that, i am so so pleased for you :)

I am also blown away with the push ups!!!! I have a dodgy right wrist (i might have mentioned it before, it is kinda a cross between RSI and arthritis) that can't hold my weight so push ups are just out of the question for me...........But, i am going to get Marks (he got given it for christmas 2 years ago) pilates ball and DVD out and give that a crack this week, that is supost to be good strength training. Also the class i do on a wednesday night is all weights, sit ups, torture etc etc lol so hopefully i can get toned too :)

Totally behind you on the push to lose the last bit. I need to do that soooooo much. :)

Much love :grouphug:

Great to hear that you made it back to China before your elliptical seized up from not getting a regular workout. Two days of travel sounds like quite a workout of its own.

Looks like you're making fantastic progress on the push-ups. Makes for a great workout and having one more item to track can be good for the motivation as well.

Hey Kate and Feelinggooder! Thanks for stopping by again!

Kate, you are such a doll, and so supportive! Thanks for your engcouragment (as I type this, I'm getting ready to go down and do some exercise...I'm going into work late today and probably really shouldn't go in at all, but I have a couple of things that I really need to get done...so alas, I'm going in!)

Feelinggooder, I'm sure the elliptical wasn't in risk of seizing up...but thanks for the good laugh! Yes, 2 nights on airplanes was a workout...my body is still really jetlagged, and I'm hungry as hell right now...but trying to remember that hunger is the sign of fat cells shrinking!

So, I did my measurements today...and I'm pleased with the results! Still quite a ways to go, but overall, happy and feeling that the switch up in the workout is helping on the measurements, if not on the scale...and after all, no one outside of this forum really cares what we weigh...and they may not care about your measurements, but the results are what is seen! Sure is alot slower progression than when I first started tracking this, but still a progression never the less...I think I'll change the scale on this chart to exagerate the progress that a 1/2" represents next time...that will make me feel better I'm sure! I'm most pleased about the hips...1/2 each month is not bad at all! Run, Sarah, Run!

AHeya sweetie :)

I did some pilates :) I got home from work and was knackered and wasn't going to bother but i thought 'no i promised Sarah' so i did it :hurray: I am going to do something tomorrow too, probably just some crunches though cos i will be doing a lot at the gym on wednesday :)

Well done on the measurements :) I really wish i had measured when i started. While we were swapping bedrooms on saturday i cam across my size 22 jeans and held them up against me and i am not much wider than ONE of the legs!!!!!!!! That was a really good feeling. I really think we kinda forget how far we have come.

Hope life back in China is settled by now.

Much love sweetie :grouphug:

Hey Kate...way to go on the Pilates...I've never done that, so maybe now as you've inspired me to run...I'll do that one day too! Good job on setting the exercise goal by the way..it really helps me keep honest with myself when I set those short term goals other than the number on the scale!

Last night I slept a little better..only up at 2:30am...so at 5:00am, I was ready to exercise! So I started with my pushups...it seems I'm a little behind on my goal in the rampup...so I'll have to skip 11 reps all together and go straight from 10 to 12...how did that happen? I'm going to blame it on jetlag!

I did the elliptical today..of course I'll be completely whacked out this evening and fall asleep in the chair (like I did last night), but I figure, sleep is sleep and you get it when you can!

Good choices to all!

Sarah

Between you & Kate, some of this exercise motivation should rub off on me hopefully. You are both being very inspirational! Most of my exercise lately has been incidental. Mostly I want to hibernate, like a bear! Even the ants have disappeared deep underground. 5am Sarah? 5am??

I didn't know there was such a thing as 5am! You are AMAZING!!!!!! xoxo Cate

Glad your home safe and sound! I look forward to seeing your family reunion pics!

I do have a quesion about your push up plan. Are you increasing by one rep every day or one rep every week? Just trying to see how you're doing it, you seem to be progressing well and I think I may just have to copy you!

AHey Cate, yes 5:00am! I have to go to work at 7:30 and I don't get out at a decent hour in the evening, so I have to get up early to get in some "my time" and exercise.. It's been working well for me, and now I'm used to it.
Munch, I started out doing 5 rep x 2 sets, with 1 min rest between sets. Then I moved to 5 rep x 3 sets. Then I increase the reps 1 at a time, but normally 2 or 3 days on the same number of reps. So right now I'm on 10 reps x 3 sets and I've been on that for 3 days, so tomorrow I will move up to 11 or 12 depending on how I feel on set 1, then I force myself to repeat it the next two sets. By set 3 I am really struggling to do the last 2 ot 3... That's why I've said this is going to get tough... It's starting to get tough!

Otherwise, I've had a good day, started out doing a good workout on the elliptical, then had a good choices today, and ready to get some good rest tonight.
Good choices to all!
Sarah

I've just come from reading what you wrote on my diary, and have read back a few pages here, up to the present, and all I can say is... wow!! You are a very impressive person! And my plan is to have my morning walk in the early mornings as well... but six would be about as early as I could manage, I think!

AHeya Sarah.

You really would have laughed if you had seen me trying to do the pilates on the gym ball. I was wobbly as hell, my centre of balance has always been really shocking :) I am looking forward to being able to actually improve my core stability and actually manage to do it properly :)

5AM!!!!!!! I'm with Cate on this one!!!!!!! That is what i call 'stupid o'clock' and Mark would call it 'getting up at the crack of sparrow fart' (as in, only birds wake up at that time lol) I struggle to get up at 6.10am so there is no way i could get up early to exercise. You, my lovely are either extremely dedicated or bloody bonkers!!!!!! i'm thinking both lol

Did some crunches and bridges today :) gonna do a full on session at the gym tomorrow :)

Love and hugs :grouphug:

Ah ok! I think I'll try to do that. Yesterday I did one set of 8 and then one set of 4. Perhaps I will start with 2 or three sets of 5 and see how I do. Look at this, I got you into pushups and now I'm taking advice from you about doing them! :)

I plan on starting a couch to 5k program tomorrow. I got an app for my phone that will tell me when the intervals stop and start, which is exactly what I need since I can't run and look at my watch at the same time!!! I'll let you know how it goes!

AKate, it,s official, I am bonkers! Stubborn... And a whole host of other adjectives that are probably not complementary! Yes, 5:00 am is also called 0 dark thirty by us, but like I said, I'm used to it now, and here in ShenyAng in the summer time, it's daylight at 4:30 am ( we're really that far north, and we never Chang the time) so it doesn't feel like it's all that early, except in the winter!

Noparsnips, i've been T this for a little over a year, and I'm really committed to get this weight off! Some days my husband would just say "I should be committed"! Actually he is very supportive and I love him dearly!

Munch, I blame you I mean give you credit for this push up thing! Serves you right to do this same method!!! You know I love ya girl! It is working! I plan to do a challenge this weekend to see how many pushups I can do in 2 min without my body collapsing! I'll let you know!

Today, started by doing the pushups 12 reps x 3 sets... 1st set ok, 2nd set saw stars, 3rd set, had to but my butt in tHe air after number 7, but I stuck it out! Then I did 20 min walking on an incline, then 20 min running, then 15 min walking T incline again...it's a good workout for me all finished by 6:15 am! Big breakfast today, nothing bad, just more than normal for me in the morning. Lunch was my normal chinese lunch and dinner was an apple and some walnuts and hot tea. All in all a good day.

Good choices to all!

Sarah
