Thanks Munch! So good to see you again!! I'll drop by your diary and get caught up with you!!

So, today, it's finally Friday in a short week...seems like I tried to cram alot into 3 days! Good calorie day today and feeling pretty good about the week. I think I may weigh in tomorrow...not expecting alot of progress with only 1 week, and the kg old style spring scale I have it will take better than 20/20 vision to see a move of anything more than 1/2 kg!

1 week from now, I go to the US for work, followed by vacation. I'm really looking forward to seeing family, but I'm not looking forward to living out of a suitcase and eating on the road for 2 weeks in the land of max carbs! I resolve to keep my calorie count and exercise intact and not blow it! After all, I have a family reunion to go to and turn some heads!

Have a great weekend you all!

Sarah

congrats Sarah on your continued progress! Oh to have pre-prepared healthy lunches, that sounds like such a treat! thanks again for suggesting fat2fit radio to me. I have really enjoyed the podcasts I have listened to so far and have learned a great deal. I need to start doing some strength training as well. as long as it takes!

Hey Alice29, good to see you here! Credit for fat2fit goes to Feelinggooder (who gives credit to oldschool)...whatever...I really enjoy listening to them while I exercise. Yes, you are right...the pre-prepared lunches are really nice! To show you how lazy one can (and has) become, I ordered them for this weekend too! I took a quick picture of my plate for lunch...it's about 500 calories all together, including a banana not shown.

Today has been a good rest day...I started out with a big exercise (60 min on the elliptical + 25 minutes walking on incline + 5 min rowing + some strength training, all followed by a good breakfast. The rest of the day has just been spent lounging and getting caught up on emails etc.

Have a great day you all and together we can make it!

Sarah

hey hun thats great with the pre prepared meals! You look so slim in your last photo! hope the family do goes well and you enjoy it.

AHello my lovely :)

I am so sorry for being such a crap friend :( I have neglected everyone, well, no more. I have to get myself back into a good headspace and blast this last lot of weight :)

I've got 30 posts to catch up on your diary!!!!

I am constantly blown away with the amount of exercise you do. You are making me feel like a couch potato right now lol :smilielol5: I haven't been to the gym or gone for a run in 2 weeks now........Time to change that me thinks :)

6lb loss!!!!!! :hurray: :hurray: I would be hugly 'chuffed' with that :) You made me smile :)

Oooh, your pre-prepared meals look awesome :drool5: very scrummy :)

You will look amazing and will wow everyone when you go back to the US. I don't envy you trying to eat healthy while on the road but you are always brilliant when you're away and actually manage to still lose weight so i have no doubt that you will lose while you're away this time.

Sarah, that plate looks so yummy! Is that chicken or fish? I can't believe that's all 500 calories including the banana! I wish I could have everything pre-prepared and presented as beautifully as that!

Hope your week is going well!

Hey Tink, Kate and Munch,

Good to see you all here! Kate, don't worry about not stopping by...you've been going through alot lately, and I totally understand...after all it's not a "tit for tat" type of forum...the computer keeps count of posts etc...but I never look at it...and neither should you dear! As for being able to keep losing over the next month...not so sure! The diet on the road in the US is going to be a challenge...especially if I can't get out and do alot of walking or exercise with my back out of whack like it is right now...but, I do plan to keep logging on to myfitnesspal and at least keep myself honest!

I gotta admit, the pre-prepared lunches are really nice! (But I also have to admit, when my husband was here, he did that for me too!)..in the photo, I had salmon, rice and veggies. According to myfitnesspal for the stuff that's there (1 cup plain boiled rice with 1 teaspoon of soy sauce, 1/2 cup boiled california mix and 6 oz salmon) it adds up to just over 400 calories, then add in a 100 cals for a medium banana and it's a 500 cal meal...is it accurate? I don't really know...but I guess it's close. The bowl in the picture is a salad bowl..it's not the size of a "regular US dinner plate"!

My back is strained in the lower..I think it's a sciatic nerve as it's my pelvic bone that hurts on 1 side and not really my back. I had a message last night and it felt good everywhere else...but didn't really do much for the place it hurts...so I've been taking it really easy on the exericise and just doing rowing to stretch my back, but not walk alot. puts a crimp in my exercise log, but I might have needed a change up anyway.

So, that's about what's going on today!

Sarah

Sorry to hear of your back pain. Hope it heals up quick for you! I have to agree with Kate that even though you go on trips, you always seem to do well. Just be sure you have some fun while being home!

Hi Sarah, That's disappointing that the massage didn't work for your back pain. Take it easy won't you until it's fixed. You are a very organised person Sarah & will find your way around getting some exercise. Swimming may be the best option with a sore back, if a pool is available in the US. I found eating out healthily in the US a huge challenge but I'm sure you are more than capable & determined enough to do so. Look after yourself & I will stay in touch each day on MFP while you're in the US. I laughed at your comment about the "walking etc, with dog." I figured that one was the closest to the pace I walk in my hilly area xoxo Cate

Hey ya Cate, and anyone else reading this!

So, it's the last night in China before I leave for 3 weeks in the US..1 week work, 2 weeks vacation! I'm packed and ready to go! I won't be on here much, but I will be on myfitnesspal.com (I'm scbibhouse there too, if you want to "friend me") because they have a mobile app! My goal is to maintain while I'm away...3 weeks of living "on the road" is going to be a challenge, but I hope to keep myself honest and exercise (assuming my back will let me...and Thanks Cate for the idea on swimming...that is a great idea...I've put my suit in the suitcase thanks to you!).

Good luck everyone and I look forward to catching up to you when I get back!

Sarah

AHeya Sarah :)

I sometimes worry that MFP isn't too accurate but I think it must be pretty close and is way better than guessing :) I think sticking with putting everything in it even while you're away is a great idea, I will definately keep you focused. When I went away for the weekend a few weeks ago I didn't use it and I ate way way too much!

Sorry to hear you are having back trouble :( I suffered with back problems for years so I know how frustrating it is, not to mention bloody painful!!! Hope it sorts itself out soon.

Hope you have a lovely trip and holiday :grouphug:

AHello everyone again! I'm writing you from my new iPad...really like it! Much easier to type from than my phone. I had a great day here today in the US . Good fitness center workout, then big breakfast, then shopping, then rest, then a nice walk on a riverside park...just couldn't stop breathing in the fresh air!
The biggest thing of all on the weight forum was that before I left China, I took a chance and ordered a pair of khaki pants from llbean (that I've found run big) And So going by the size chart online, i oordered them in a size 16...no w, just 16 misses. Now I really can't tell you when was the last time I ordered anything in that size. I was mentally prepared to send them back if they were too small. I picked them up at the place I had them shipped, and brought them back to the hotel, and my eyes played tricks again and I almost didn't try them on, sure they would be too small...but, you guessed it, they fit womderfully! The length was right, they just fit perfectly! I just couldn't believe it. Now 16 is where some people on this forum started, and their dream is to be a size 4...not me! Almost 1 year ago, I was wearing a size 22w or 24w depending on the brand. To be a size 16 is a big deal for me! I still have my 39 pounds to go, and it may take me the rest of my life to get there, but gotta say I'm pleased with where I am today. Feeling good in my own skin(and my new pants). Felt so good that I ordered another pair today that should be here before we leave!
This whole story is not something I share with family (other than loving husband...who saw me try them on and beamed with me when they fit!), but I knew that people on this forum would understand totally!
Just had to share! (and get this address known by my iPad!)
Have a great Mothers day anyone in the US!
Sarah:
:hurray:

I understand perfectly Sarah, having once been a size 22 or 24 & now either a 14 or a 16, & am really happy for you!! I love L.L.Bean clothes & used to love going through my sister's catalogues in the US. It's Mothers Day here in Australia too & we have just arrived home from our mother duties. Great to hear that you are enjoying yourself & exercising and breathing fresh air!!. I knew you would sort the exercise out. Have a great time, xo Cate

AHello my lovely MFP buddy!!

:hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: size 16 :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: So so chuffed for you :)

I totally understand how totally pleased you are :) when I first started on this weightloss my aim was to get into a pair of size 16 jeans that I couldn't even got over my bum. I remember being so so excited when not only could I get them on and done up but when I could actually wear them :) I can't wait to feel your excitement when you are in 14's, that just blew me away and being a size 12 still hasn't sunk in, to be honest I don't think it ever will. In my head I am a size 20 and think I always will be.

I am so so pleased for you my lovely :grouphug:

Glad you have found something to workout on that your back is happy with :)

Love and hugs :grouphug:

P.s. ooooooooh you have an iPad!!!!! I totally love mine, it's just the best isn't it. Only problem I have with mine is I can't put my ticker on the bottom of the post but that's not a problem.

Xxx

So excited for you, Sarah! How has it been seeing your family since your weight loss? I am so curious as you have made such amazing progress and have been open with us about the emotional side of your journey.

I heart LL Bean as well but don't live in an area where I can really enjoy the flannels and lined jeans like I used to. Maybe I'll have to take a peek online today just to be sure ;)

I switched sizes officially yesterday, too and hear you on the disbelief. I have no doubt that you will drop more sizes as you continue your transformation! It must be a bit frustrating to have so much trouble finding clothes in China and then being able to order clothes online and have then fit in the states. You'll have to stock up before you head back!

Enjoy your vacation!

(I'm jealous of your ipad. I almost bought one recently and realized I don't use all of the tech toys I have. Maybe once my laptop dies I'll take the leap. Enjoy it!)

Congrats on the new clothes. Always nice to fit into a new size as it's one of the best indications of the transformation you're going through.

Enjoy the vacation, fresh air and the new ipad. :hurray:

AThanks everyone! I've been in the US for a week now, and so far so good. I've been working this week, so while I'm still living in a suitcase and hotel food, I've been doing OK. So far every place I've stayed has had a fitness center and I've been faithful to filling out my daily food diary on my fitness pal so I've been in control.
I wore the size 16 pants yesterday for the first time...still felt so awesome to put them on, and then the plant wanted to give me a Tshirt, and in a US men's polo size, I actually wore a M... I haven't been in 'm' sine , well I don't think ever! Made me feel good to get that size!
S that's about all for now! Thanks again for the support!

ABy the way Alice, I haven't seen family yet...but people at the plant where I used to work were very complementary!! Amazed in fact! It was special!

Sarah I'm just so happy for you!! A size 16 is awesome! You probably had the same reation as me when I found out my wedding dress is a size 8. I just couldn't believe it, I was so happy! Granted I've since had it let out a bit so I don't faint on my wedding day, but in the end, that tag says size 8 and to me that's all that really matters!

So since the whole time I've been on here, this is the first time we've been on the same piece of land I believe! I know before you had taken a trip to Hawaii, but that's way to far away, even if it is a U.S. state. I'm so glad you're enjoying yourself and are happy with yourself even if you still plan on losing more! I know it's been awhile since we talked, but I've decided that after the wedding I'm switching gears back to weight loss and am going to aim for 145lbs to be the ultimate healthy me by BMI standards! I better enjoy not counting cals now because once I'm back from the honeymoon, I'll be switching back. Of course I'm pretty sure I'll have to lose the weight I gain from the trip back as we will be dining on as many scrumptious things as possible! :)

Hope your week continues to go amazing! :)

AHeya Sarah :)

Well done you on being so awesome while you are away. So impressed :)

And it put a huge grin on my face reading about you fitting into a 'M' for the first time. It is such an awesome feeling isn't it?

:hurray: Yay no getting awesome comments at work. I can't wait to hear what your family say :)

Hope you have a wonderful time with your family :)

Love and hugs Xx
