Sam's weightloss diary

Awesome job getting back on track Sam and hitting a new low number on the scale!

I hurt my brain a moment ago trying to remember what grade I was in when I last weighed 181 lbs. Think it was grade 11

Thank you feelinggooder :)

I've been down a lot recently, I went through a stressful time with a new girlfriend and that lead to some comfort eating it seems, lots of takeaway and too much booze, although I did try and stick to spirits which are less calories it's still a huge hit when you drown your sorrows in half a bottle of whisky and waste about 750 cals!

Anyway that's over now and I'm on the mend, both mentally and physically, despite everything that has happened my continued new lows on the scales are really cheering me up no end, I weighed in at 180 this morning and I feel really great today.

I hope you can manage to be 181lbs again feelinggooder, your start weight is about 45lbs more than mine was and if I can get this low then you can to, it looks like you've already passed your goal weight, you should set a new lower goal and keep going :)

My biggest issue with the drinking was that the 750 calories from drinking used to lead to about 2000 consumed afterwards from snacking/pizza etc. Sorry to hear about the stressful stretch you've come through but happy to hear you've come through it even stronger. How awesome is it that you're only a pound away from getting into the 170s?

I did update my signature tag a moment ago to put the focus where it really should have been all along, evict the fat while holding onto the muscle :)

You're right about the snacking, it's actually really hard for me to get drunk and avoid the takeaway especially now I can order it online so easily, it takes mere moments to bring up a website, order your meal and type in your card details and have 2000 calories of pizza or kebab winging its way to your front door. In the end I realised I couldn't really rely on myself in a drunken state to avoid that stuff, at least not reliably, so I cut out the drinking (for the most part) and that's just the best solution while I drop the last 12lbs.

It's good to come out of the other side of a dysfunctional relationship and start to be happy again, It didn't pay that much of a toll on my weight I think my lowest before everything started going wrong was 182 and my highest after that was up to 195, now I'm back to 180 so it was relatively minor damage. It's so awesome to be close to the 170's, I can't wait to see the scales read 17x.xx :)

You're right about body fat percentage, I think I'll have a lot of work to do once I've hit my target weight, in terms of putting back on some muscle, I intend to do some weights and eat a high protein diet for a while to try and balance everything out, it may require a 2nd diet for a short period of time once that's over with.

In to the 170's now and it feels amazing :)

I weighed in at 179.6 this morning, a measly 11.6lbs to go to hit my final goal. My weekly diary update is on the first page now.

Thanks :D

This weeks weigh in is 178.6 which puts me more or less on the 70lb mark, yesterday was 1 year of diet since my first weigh in at 248lbs so it's basically 70lbs in 1 year which is a nice round number, and feels great :)

Great job! I have similar goals and it is very inspiring to see your progress over the course of a year. Best of luck on reaching your final goal!
