Hello all :)

I went for a run last night, just like I planned I would. I am however, convinced that I am deathly allergic to something in the gully I run in, and probably won't be running down there anymore... I have been taking allergy meds and wearing sunglasses to help keep the allergies at bay for my runs there and it isn't working... So I will have to find some other outdoor place to run, or just start back to hitting the treadmill at the gym.

Food was very decent yesterday, and got in a good amount of protein. I had a salmon burger with some LF cottage cheese and broccoli last night for dinner, while everybody else at my house went and got Hires (its this really yummy burger place down the road)... I didn't even really feel tempted. Feel really good about yesterday.

Here I am at work today, kinda behind on sleep so Im definitely going to try to go to bed early tonite. I'm going into my 3rd 12 hr shift this week, and I still got 2 more... My dad was really nice and bought me and my bros some filet mignons to grill up here in the next couple days, what a nice guy :)

Hi Sam :)

Sorry you have been feeling down but it looks like ur getting ur spirits up a bit now :D The running shorts story was funny but it must have been soooo frustrating! I hate it when my plans are ruined!

It def sounds like you are allergic (and a pretty severe allergy too) to something in the gully...prob a good idea to get a new running circuit.

Hope you keep feeling better!

xx

Hey sweetie! Sorry to hear about the allergies... what is going on in good ol' Utah? I mean, I've NEVER had allergies like this before....

Filet mignon... amazing! Have you ever had it at Tepanyaki? OMG :drool5:

Fillet mignon is very tender, but doesn't have enough fat to grill on it's own. Make sure to marinate it before grilling, and/or wrap each piece in a strip of bacon. Don't worry about the added fat. Most will drip off into the grill and whatever soaks in is worth it.

I don't think I've ever had Tepenyaki. i will have to try it.

I'm sure my bro plans on marinating it. He's kind of the grill guru, and likes to experiment with different marinades and stuff. I dunno if he plans on cooking it tonite though. I honestly don't care, I'm so tired I just want to go home and go to sleep....

I just started reading this book my friend loaned me at work. It's called "Holidays on Ice" by David Sedaris... I've heard of him before but never read any of his stuff, and I know who Amy Sedaris is. I hope the book is good (so far so good)... Kinda a Christmasy read in June I guess....

I haven't read that book, but David Sedaris is hysterical. One of the funniest authors I've read. I have a feeling you'll love it.

Hey all...

Same shit different day is already how i feel about my Thursday at work. I got off work last nite and had to do some essential grocery shopping, and after I finally got done with that I figured I deserved a little treat.... So, I stopped by the lq store and got a bottle of red wine. I got home and poured myself a pretty liberal glass to help take the edge off the long ass Weds I was close to finishing. I cooked myself a chicken breast, some broccoli, and put a little cottage cheese on the side. Very tasty and filling. I didn't get to the gym yesterday, mostly because I've just been so pooped from being at work so much this week. I feel like I need to get there tonite and bust out a decent amount of cardio. I guess we shall see how the day goes.

Hey sam! Sounds like a healthy dinner, too bad I can't stand broccoli or cottage cheese. Heh, ah well. Hope you get a chance to hit the gym tonight, you'll feel better if you do :D

Hey, Shaun. Don't give up on the boring foods that you don't like. Try it different ways and you might find some way that you do like it. You might also find some ways that you didn't like it before you now do.

I never liked cottage cheese before, but if I put some honey in it, I do. Vegetables can be great or just bland. I've found that fresh is the only way to go for me.

I've tried cottage cheese six ways from Sunday and the only thing I've been able to eat it in is lasagna. Not exactly ideal. :D And if you've been tired, hit the gym! The thought of going when you're tired always sucks but you know you'll feel like a million bucks and energized when it's done. Have a good one!

Trops, that is very true. I used to hate summer squash and zuchini but now I eat both of them. Broccoli has always made me gag though... feel like I'll throw up. My parents made me eat it as a kid... it was horrible. One day I told them I'd rather eat dog food... they didn't believe me. So I downed some dry dog food :smilielol5:. I'm open to trying anything. I've just come to the same understanding every time with broccoli, heh. I may try cottage cheese and honey, we'll see what happens.

Ok, here's one that I'm sure you haven't tried. Cottage cheese with all natural peanut butter and jelly. Give it a good mix. Sounds weird, looks disgusting, but tastes good.

For sure it is Paula. Today is going to be a good day, no matter what. I will try my hardest to get to the gym tonite, I know that.

Cottage cheese is also kinda good with some salsa in it too, at least imo... Broccoli is very very good if you sprinkle some parmesean cheese on it. I ate it that way last night and that is how I like it. Cottage cheese is cottage cheese to me. I can get pretty burnt out on it if I don't be careful. It is just such an excellent source of protein and very filling too.
