Sam's from Chunk to Hunk Journal :)

Got some great foods, some organic greens, bananas, whole grain bagels, kashi, string cheese, soups, etc... Groceries are so fuckin expensive though. It's depressing. It's scary to think of what is going to happen to this country if gas keeps going up and up. I can't stress over it, but that is my personality to a T, I stress over shit i have no control over... I only consume about 10 gallons of gas per week with my vehicle, and I don't think that is too much. At least I drive a fuel sipping car I guess....

Happy Wednesday,
-Sam

Look at you all organic and saving the planet with your low fuel consumption. hehe

I read an article in Rolling Stone about what is expected to happen when we start running out of gas. Nearly half of the worlds reserve has been used up. That means supply is only going to go down down down, and that makes the price go up up up!! Dont stress over it though, it gives you wrinkles, and you are way to pretty, I mean handsome, for that! :sifone:

Glad we don't get wildfires around here! That would be scary. No dryness here--we've been getting tons of thunderstorms and rain. Due for more tonight..lol. Want some water? :D

Milk IS outrageous! I used to be able to get it on sale for $1.50 a gallon a year ago. Now the cheapest I ever get it for is $2.50, otherwise it's $4 a gallon!! I stock up when it's on sale. You can freeze it, and thaw it when you're ready to drink it. Of course, it helps to have a deep freezer. :D

Hey hun! Hangin' out in O Town this weekend huh? Next time you come north, let me know and you can stop in my salon for some free tanning. Hope you're packin' lol jk! ;)

Can you really freeze milk? With no loss of quality/flavor/nutrition???

Hey guys :)

I made it up to 0-town and made it back down, lived to tell about it. Was pretty fun. It was good to see my friend, and the more I hang out with her boyfriend, the more I like him. We went to a restaurant called Roosters in old downtown historic Ogden... It was very tasty, and I tried all the beers :)

Didn't get in as much exercise as I wanted to this weekend but, I plan on going on a run when I get off work tonite. Other than that not too much else to report. Gave my dad his father's day gift and he liked it a lot. It was a coffee table book on old SLC and a giftcard to the Oyster Bar, then my bros got him a giftcard to the golf store. He's a giftcard type of guy :) We didn't do anything with him though over father's day... We never do. Our relationship with him is still kind of strained due to his wife... I felt kind of upset about it yesterday. I ended up going to my "2nd family's" house to celebrate Father's day with them, and have a BBQ. It was a good time, and I got some sun finally :)

Hope everyone had a nice weekend

LOL! How many beers did you "try"!!!

Sorry to hear you have a monster in law. Ack. It's good you got to have some fun with your 2nd family though, that must have been nice!

Sunscreen and lots of it on the face, that will keep you looking sexy baby faced for years. Just mix a tad of sunless tanning cream, and facial lotion every now and then and apply to the face for a touch of bronze, but no sun on it!! I'm sure you knew that beauty tip, but I like to share it.

I tried all their house beers, from light to dark. Not a full beer, just a big shot of it. I really liked the lightest one, can't remember the name, and then their Chocolate Stout I think it was called, that tasted like coffeeish... Pretty damn good, imo. They also had a butterscotchy one that was pretty tasty too :) I'm a Hefeweizen type of guy. At my regular place near my house they have a beer that is like a corona, very very good, and I get that one whenever I'm there. The love of beer and good red wine is in my genes. My dad is a beer enthusiast, and my bros love it too. My dad has really turned into quite the red wino in the past 5 years or so. I really enjoy a good merlot, or chianti as well :)

My step mother is my step mother. We are a lot cooler with each other than we used to be but it's still awkward.... She really knows how to intrude her way into things and fuck up relationships. I should find her a medal for that title or something. I just wish my dad would be a little more firm with her sometimes. I never thought in a million years from how tight we used to be that it would come to how it is now. I do see him everyday at work but outside it is few and far between... I mostly feel bad for my little bros who don't get to see him as much as me, and they are younger than me so they could probably use him more.... Life's unfair, wadaya do, and his wife can be a bitch with a capital "C" ;)

Hehehehe... I actually do wear a bronzer quite a bit. I wear one that is specifically made for men by Male Species. But, that is it, I promise... I'm not into eyeshadow and mascara and all that other shit men sometimes wear. Bronzer can help anyone out, it makes you look a little more alive and healthy, plus if you aren't trying to tan your face you do less damage to it, imo. I'm addicted to moisturizer too. The one I got has an SPF of 15, which I know a 30 would probably be better... I live in the desert tho man, and if you don't moisturize here and slather lotion on your body everyday you pay. You really have to use a great condtioner here too...

Wow, that is a lot of varieties of beers. I rarely drink beer because it makes me bloated and I burp the whole time. If I do drink a beer it's usually a tecate or Corona with lime.MMM Before that it was Rolling Rock. lol I guess I like the white ones.

I do love red wine though and I love to go wine tasting. Plus it's low carb!!

Sorry to hear the MIL is a biotch sometimes. That's too bad. Nothing you can do though I guess except accept the situation and try to make the best of it. Listen to me, like I know what I am talking about. NOT! That is sure easier said than done when it comes to loved ones.

So you already wear bronzer! I like your style. Living in the desert must be brutal. Lizards running everywhere, heat waves like a hot oven. Mirages on the highways. LOL

Good thing you lather on the SPF 15, I do too, every day! So what if it makes me shiny, I'd rather by shiny than wrinkly.

Hope you kick butt on weight loss this week.

Thanks Miss JB.

Utah is technically a desert. Some places are more like it than others I guess. It's just pretty hot here in the summer and really dry. Not really a lot of humidity like they have back east, so it's a nice dry heat I guess :)

Yea, I started with the bronzer about a year and a half ago and haven't been able to quit since. I used to be a closeted user, now I just own the fact that I wear a little sometimes... lots of the time, lol... I just think many people can benefit from it. Who doesn't like to look like they have a little color without all the bad effects from the sun? I still go tanning tho...

I'm still in the process of learning to deal with a stepmother. Things are much better now that we all don't live under one roof :) I can't let it get me down like I did in the past. I'm slowly getting my own life to live, and I have to focus on that. I also have to remember whatever she has done isn't a reflection on me and actually has nothing to do with. It's taken a lot of digging deep within myself and talking to others to get to the point that I am, and I'm very excited about that. But, I'm still not all the way there. I'm currently reading 3 different self help books, LOL... I'm not some crazy person who just reads those and nothing else, I just felt like they could be beneficial to me at this time in my life :) I'm the type that takes many things very personally, to the point it makes me sick sometimes... I'm learning that a lot of what other people do, has nothing to do with me, go figure, hehe.

Hello again...

Did you hold off until 4? Hopefully...

I have a stepmom similar to that. She has gotten a lot better over the years, but I used to get yelled at for the stupidest things like getting water on the wall in the bathroom. wtf? But I feel like she has changed over the years. We've gotten closer in hs even though I see her less. I'm sure this isn't really like what your stepmom is, but I figured i'd throw in my 2 cents. :)

I made it till 3pm... I'm just eating a few veggie wheat thins.

My stepmom never really gave us a chance to get to know her. It's like she didn't even want to bother with us. She saw us as competition for my dad or something, so she went into full on crazy mode. Me and her have went head to head a few times, and it wasn't pretty. She has kids of her own and isn't very maternal at all. I don't even really refer to her as my stepmother, even tho that is technically what she is. To me she will always be my dad's wife... I wasn't looking for a mother figure in her anyways, I just was hoping to be her friend and maybe her be mine... She wasn't really having that I guess, I guess it was too difficult for her to handle... Her loss, right?? I guess for the amount of times I see her per year, I can go into my fake mode and handle her for a few hours. My brother refuses to, so he hasn't spoken to her in going on 2 yrs, and he misses out on Christmas and Thanksgiving get togethers.... Thats what sucks.

Hi Sam :)

Thanx for visiting my diary..thought i would swing by and check out yours! You write very honestly and i found myself reading your whole diary! So sorry for being a bit nosy!

You are doing great with your weight loss and ur advice on the wine naughtiness levels was much needed!

You guys are so nice :) Thank you for the great compliments. I do what I can nowadays :)

So, yesterday, calorically was a success. I even made it to the gully and ran two miles. Would have done three but the allergies were kicking in and I was crying something fierce, LOL...

Plan on getting a workout in tonite after work... I went to lunch with my dad, and ate better than i thought still not super great though. I also had a beer at lunch. Just one though. I'm glad I did it early in the day, so I can control my eating and stuff later tonite. Today wasn't waste by any means. I just gotta make sure I go for another run again tonite. It is so freaking hot here, and I'm already sick of it. I'm stuck at work till 7pm and I desperately wish I was at the pool instead. Oh well :)

-Sam

Way to go with the 2 mile run yesterday!! Whoo hoo!! Good job!

I hope you get in a good workout tonight after work. I plan on doing the same after this heat goes down.

Hey all.

I didn't go on a run last night, I went swimming instead!!! Much more fun than a run but, probably not as effective at burning calories because I kinda just lounged around in the pool more than I swam in it... Oh well... It felt so nice and I got to visit with my cousin, bros and favorite aunt :)

I also got to drive around in some German luxury last night. My bro's friend was driving his mom's Audi Allroad for the week, so I asked him if I could take it for a spin. He let me and needless to say, I now want one, hehe... It had a turbo in it and it hauled ass, and was so smooth... Someday I tell myself, someday....

Food wasn't too bad yesterday, probably ended up around 2000 cals or so. Could have done worse but could have done better. Today food tracking is a priority, so I know I will come in at the target cals I've set for myself, around 1800 or so. I'm also planning on a workout tonite after this long ass shift of work I gotta get thru. Today is my Friday tho, so I just gotta make it till 7 or 8 and then I'm off for 3 whole days! It will be so nice! Usually I have 3 day weekends due to my work schedule but, lately I've been covering for every mo-fo at my work, and its only about to get worse...

-Sam

lounging in the pool is good therapy sometimes.. my new gym has a pool that i've used exactly once.. I really need to spend more time in it -it's fun :)

Sometimes time at the pool with friends and family can be better for you in the long run than a workout. Good for you! Enjoy your three day weekend!
