I'm finding just how hard it is to eat well while visiting people. I actually find myself avoiding get togethers involving food, or I eat before I go so I'm tempted to eat less lol. Good for you doing ok. Swimming is great. Enjoy your three day weekend. woohoo!
 
Lounging by the pool... how nice! The neighbors right across from us are ALWAYS in their pool! I'm so jealous all the time. I'm hoping that if I look desperate enough to swim that maybe one day they'll feel sorry for me and invite me over! :D
 
Im jealous. I wanted to go swimming so badly yesterday. The boy and I had planned on going to the water park, but of course it had to be in the 60s yesterday. And even more is that I work allll weekend, so it seems that the water park may be out of the picture until next week.

Oh well...hope you're having a good day.
 
Hey all :)

I went to the gym Thurs nite and got a pretty decent workout in.

Yesterday I ate pretty bad... I was with friends, and figured I would.
Today I'm taking my friend to the zoo for her b-day tomorrow. It's almost a 100 outside, so its gonna be hot as hell... I want to work on my tan.

I got my new glasses yesterday and they are so hot!!! I love them. I switch off between glasses and contacts and usually hate my glasses, and always have. I must say, in my 23 years of wearing glasses this is the first pair of glasses I've ever had that i feel look so great, and feel really great too.

Well, I'm off to the zoo :)

I just went to the zoo the other day! Great minds think alike eh?

And I also just bought a new pair of Ralph Lauren glasses that I looove.

Hey everybody!!!

That was my enthusiastic Monday greeting, but it isn't really how I am as of yet. It's early and it's Monday.... I have a very long work week ahead of me too, so I'm dreading it. I have to work 5x12's this week, Mon-Fri... I figure I can really focus on my diet and working out though, and try to go for runs every night this week when I get off work.

I swam a bunch over the weekend and definitely got some sun. I didn't really burn, which I'm surprised at being at how much I was in the sun with little or no SPF on... The zoo was pretty fun, very crowded and very hot. I then spent the rest of the afternoon and part of the evening at my aunt's pool, then went to dinner with some friends... Yesterday I went to my friend's house for an afternoon BBQ. He just bought his first house with his wife and they have 3 kids. Well, I spent the afternoon doing the slip n' slide with the kids and now have a bruise on my ass the size of a plate, LOL... It was fun, just pretty sore today, hehe.

Guess what??? There is cake upstairs today in the break room..... It doesn't look that good and so far I'm doing a decent job of resisting it tho... I did hear someone mention it's covered in cream cheese icing... None for me.

AVOID THE CAKE!!! You dont really want it anyway if it doesnt look good - save the cals for something attractive!

I feel ur pain Sam...every friday we have cake day in the staffroom at work....total diet disaster! i try my best but i am only human!

Your weekend sounds great fun! I havnt been to a zoo for years...might make the effort and take my little nieces over the summer hols :biggrinjester:

Keep up the good work (and stay away from that cake!!)

I've avoided the cake, officially... I'm lucky it was some weird spice cake thing and not some cheesecakey type... A couple weeks ago they brought in pumpkin pie cheesecake, which is truly a weekness of mine. Plus it was homemade so it was extra good. I had a slice then, and lived to tell about it. I'm tracking all my foods today too, and have a plan of what i'm eating for the rest of the day, even room for a protein shake after my run tonite. I'm also doing an inventory of the food i have at home so I will know exactly what to get at the store... I'm sometimes guilty of wasting my money on shit at the store that I end up not eating... I gotta stop that :(

So.....

I went all the way home at lunch today to get my running clothes, I thought I was being so proactive and this would for absolutely make for certain that I got my ass to the gully for a nice 3 mile run tonite. In my gym bag: running shoes: check; socks: check; t-shirt: check; allergy meds: check; ipod arm band thing with headphones: check; running shorts... running shorts? no, I forgot them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I won't have enough time before sundown to run in the gully now because I will have to go to my house, get them, then go to the gully, instead of just heading there after work.... I hate my fucken life sometimes..... I didn't want to fight the Monday night gym crowds tonite and still don't really want to.... I'm so mad right now!

Well, yesterday was an ice cream cone in the dirt, lol... I got home and the day had been pretty rough, should have went for a run but I didn't. I instead went to bed early... I was kind of down yesterday and it is kind of trickling into today a little bit but I'm making sure I go for a run tonite, I definitely need the endorphins I would say.

Yesterday wasn't a total waste. I stayed pretty good on my diet, and my bro picked me up a few things I needed from Costco. I now have more Whey Protein, frozen broccoli, frozen chicken breasts, and some salmon burgers. Sounds good to me :)

Hey Sam, great job avoiding the cake! And that made me laugh about you packing your bag... that's something I would do! Don't let yesterday get ya down. You had great intentions and it just didn't work out... it was only ONE day and today is a new day! You have your healthy food and you WILL go running tonight! Then you'll feel GREAT!
 
Salmon burger...that sounds so good! Sorry about the running shorts...it happens to the best of us. I hope your mood lifts as the day goes along! Keep us posted.
 
I know, it was just one day. It's funny how I let one stupid thing like that create this trickle that brings me way down. It wasn't completely just that. I got home and a few things set me off as well, plus it had been a long ass Monday at work...
