Sam's from Chunk to Hunk Journal :)

Hey all.

This is a new week, time to start fresh. Last week was a bit of a bummer but it's in the past. I don't know what the hell is going on with my computer or if the forum is going thru another upgrade again but I keep having wide screen issues and red x issues too...

Happy Monday,
Sam

Happy Monday! Good thing that loser no showed, he's probably not worth it.

Too funny about your girl friend and her "gay." LOL

Hope this week goes fab for you!! work it

Hey Sam, the forum has been doing the same thing to me for the past few days... looks good now though. Hope you have a GREAT WEEK! :)

Hey all,

So yesterday wasn't too great on the food front... However, I did get my ass to the gully trail and ran 2 miles without stopping. I could have done 3 or 4 but my allergies were too much. I could barely keep my eyes open at the end, because they were stinging so badly... I just didn't feel like putting up with the Monday nite crowds at the gym, and it was a nice evening so running outside sounded so good. I might get some non-drowsy allergy meds at the store because I want to run outside again this week, and I don't want to have to battle the allergies while I do so...

Got my car insurance renewal... It went up 15.00 for the 6 month installment and I can't figure out why. It's actually been dropping steadily for the past year, usually about 50.00 a time. Annoying but it's still cheap for full coverage, so I will pay it anyways. Dammit, I was just expecting a better deal.

I've been getting my water in better than usual the past couple of days, and I'm proud of that. It seems like I would usually subsist on diet coke a lot, and lately it hasn't been that appealing. I might have one in the morning, to act as my cup of coffee but after that I don't want any...

Finally able to go grocery shopping tonite after work, and I'm going to tear it up!!! I have got a kick ass grocery list and can't wait to purchase all the good foods I plan on. It has been extra shitty having no money for groceries and an empty fridge.

Happy Tuesday,
Sam

woohoo for running 2 miles straight. I can't wait until I can do that. That's odd about the insurance. we just got our insurance bill and it was really really high, so we got other quotes, and most of them where HALF of our old auto insurance. we called our insurance to see if they would drop the price, but NOPE. So we switched. If it keeps going up, get more quotes

Glad to hear about the grocery plans. Having all the right foods makes such a difference.

But seriously! What is in the air out here? I don't normally have allergies and I look like I've been crying non-stop for 4 days now! Everyone keeps asking me what's wrong like I have some major trauma going on in my life lol! I've been taking allergy meds and allergy eye drops but my eyes are still so swollen and constantly running... Geez, hope yours are getting better!

I'll say it here, and elsewhere. Get some honey that is local to you. Eat about two tablespoons a day. Mix in in coffee or tea or on your unsweetened cereal. Wherever. Local honey helps seasonal allergies so much. You will be surprised. You will also be helping out your local beekeepers.

Hmmm. Trops, that i might just do. I ended up getting some non-drowsy allergy meds from the grocery store last nite, going to see if they work... I would go running outside later tonite but, the sky can't decide if it's going to rain or not... so to the gym is probably where I will go, and luckily I don't need allergy medicine to go there... yet

Got some great foods, some organic greens, bananas, whole grain bagels, kashi, string cheese, soups, etc... Groceries are so fuckin expensive though. It's depressing. It's scary to think of what is going to happen to this country if gas keeps going up and up. I can't stress over it, but that is my personality to a T, I stress over shit i have no control over... I only consume about 10 gallons of gas per week with my vehicle, and I don't think that is too much. At least I drive a fuel sipping car I guess....

Happy Wednesday,
-Sam

Hi Sam...I just thought I would pop in! You may not remember me, but this is Kristib15. I got a new computer and just decided to make a new login name too! I'm really happy to see that everything is still going well for you! And you look really good, too!

Thanks for stopping by! Watch out for that freshman 15!! :D

I thought I was all done with school (well except for teaching), then I ended up at a Montessori school and now they want me to be a teacher there - so I need to be "trained" in their ways. ;) And so I will be off for training throughout July and half of Aug! I'm determined to keep the weight off and being away from my family, I think I will be less inclined to eat (as I try to make nice meals at home.)

TTFN!

2 Miles without stopping is awesome!! Nice job on the water intake, too. So sorry about your allergies. :hug2: That sucks ass.

When you grocery shop, do you take advantage of sales? My grocery shopping philosophy is if it isn't on sale, I'm not buying it..lol. Well, there are some things I buy regardless, but when it comes to meat, I never buy it unless it's on sale. I tend to stock up on things when they're on sale, and I feed 4 adults on about $100 per week. I used to do it on about $80, but like you said, food prices have really gone up in the last couple of years. :ack2:

I tend to buy the generic form of something, or if something is on sale and I need it I will buy it... I'm just bitching because there were some extras on my grocery list yesterday... like laundry soap, allergy meds, etc... no biggie. Milk is sure expensive nowadays tho. Wadaya do... I plan on going on a run tonite when I get home from work, and I got the non-drowsy allergy stuff, so maybe I can pull of 3 miles or even 4... The gym just hasn't been appealing to me lately. I can go home and do a core routine tonite though, or do some chest, back and shoulders with my 10, 15, and 20lb weights... Its the plan, I hope i follow thru. I've developed a serious case of the yawns and nodding off's here in front of my PC in the last hour. I shouldn't be tired at all, I'm getting plenty of sleep...

The gym just hasn't been appealing to me lately.

Same here. My last couple trips to the gym were so hectic and (seemingly) unproductive that I haven't been back yet. I was hoping to start a new routine this week but some stuff happened at work that prevented that from happening so maybe next week.

Insane work on that run, man. I can't even fathom that shit haha... Keep it up!

Thanks Kristi, it did :)

I finished my 3 mile run outside yesterday, with my new best friend, the non-drowsy benedryl, hehe. Felt excellent and I can't wait to do another. I don't get off till later than usual tonite, so the gym might be in order, depending on how beat I am when I finally get home. The gully I run in is behind my old house that my dad sold last year. It's only like a 5 minute drive, and all my old friends still live around there. It's a one mile gravel trail that has trees, a creek, etc. Very nice to run in and usually full of different types of people. Last night the Dungeons and Dragons people were down there playing. I had never run into them but my dad has on many occasion. I have absolutely nothing against them, I just felt like I kept interuppting there game/live action role play every time I ran past because they kept taking a Time Out... Oh well... Then when I was leaving I noticed these highschool boys smoking cigarettes near the top... They thought they were so cool. I was too beat to explain to them that if the residents who live at the edge saw what they were doing they would probably get bitched out so fast. Smoking is absolutely forbidden down there, due to the fact it's so dry, and last year there was a serious fire that almost burnt my friend's house down, and burned down another's deck... It was probably punks like them who started the fire in the first place... I'm not a total square, I don't care if they smoke, just don't be stupid and do it where there is nothing but dry brush around.... idiots...

Food was decent yesterday, and today as well. Probably next week I will start posting my foods daily. I'm still working on it and want my posts to include my menu like it did last summer. I need to get some more whey protein from Costco. Its gone up to 35.99 for a 5lb bag. My little bro works there so I'm just going to have him pick up a bag for me when he works next. I really like that stuff. It's just gone up 10 dollars in price since i started buying it last year, wtf!!!

This weekend I'm going up to Ogden to hang out with my friend overnite. She moved up there to be with her boyfriend and is having a hard time adjusting. We are trying to get appointments with this psychic we know who now lives up there. I've known her for awhile, i've just never gotten a reading from her. My friend has had a few readings and they have been pretty accurate. I'm excited. We'll probably go to the movies and then drink some wine or something too. Work has been kickin my ass this week and I'm ready for a break. My other friends are going to Lake Tahoe for the next week, and yes I'm jealous :)

I moved into my current house three years ago. The Fourth of July that year people were shooting off fireworks and one landed in the dumpster outside a bar on Main Street. The dumpster caught fire and set fire to the building blowing up the propane tanks outside. No one was seriously hurt and the apartments above the bar were evacuated before the fire spread, but the building was totaled. Apparently that bar was a kind of hub for Main Street. Since then many stores have shut down, the parades don't have the sponsors, storefronts are changing to professional associations and the like. There really isn't much reason to go to Main Street anymore. It was a great Irish bar/restaurant, but who knew that it was such a keystone.

One year later we were in the middle of a wicked dry spell and I hear fireworks going off. I march down the street to the house where it's happening and confront the people. Turns out that the guy is a state trooper, but I don't care. Don't burn down my house.

No doubt Trops.

That gully is filled with memories from my childhood. There were fires in it when I was younger but they were always smaller and contained... This last one last year was all over the news with helicopters and stuff flying over and dumping stuff on it. I have a few friends and old neighbors who live right on the edge (there backyard basically goes into the gully)... It was very scary. Luckily it only burnt that guy's deck down, thats it... Utah is just so scary for fires because it gets so hot and dry. I'm sure there will be plenty of them this year, just wait...

Hey there Stace,

Congrats on staying away from those cigs! Your doing awesome. I've watched my parents and several of my friends quit and it's a huge accomplishment. A lot of it's a mind over matter type of thing, I would imagine. Glad to hear your IL's are no longer in the hospital, that would be very very stressful I am sure. Hope your pool opens soon so you can go for a dip. We have a private pool in my family that I am hoping gets opened this weekend so I can go swim and sun :)

Take Care,
Sam

Thank you sweetie! :hug2:

I tell ya - I STILL want one every moment of the day.
It isn't easy that's 4 sure!

Funny and true story you may enjoy:

I was what you'd call a Born Smoker.

Everyone in my family smokes except for my mom and siblings.

As a child I always wanted the candy ciggs and would walk around smokin' that chalk! :D

When I didn't have those, I kept a red crayon inbetween my fingers and lit it with my pez dispenser. (flipped the head back and that was my lighter.) :smilielol5:

So, of course when I was all goofy lookin' with all the changes of puberty in 6 G. and the one group that accepted me was then called, "The Freaks," I smoked to fit in. That was all it took. I inhaled - didn't choke - and then became addicted of course.

I always looked older especially when I started wearing make-up and was no longer goofy looking, heehee - so I was able to buy them.

Back then (I'm 35 now), they were not strict/didn't check for ID bc they just wanted your money.

Thank you re: IL's.. ;)

I hope they stay well.
My poor hubby has been a mess bless his heart.

Enjoy the pool!
I cannot wait!

We have bounced from 92-98* all week + our horrible humidity here in TX, so I'm ready.

I also look like Casper, so sun is much needed! :biggrinjester:

Of course I took after my PawPaw and got the Irish..I only tan a little.

I wasn't lucky enough to get my Nannie's beautiful complexion.
She's Czechoslovakian.

(My dad's side of the family)

My mom's side is mostly Indian and I missed out on that too! lmbo!

********

I would LUV to live in Utah I tell ya! It is so beautiful.

I always watch all the shows re: it on the travel channel..lol..

Stay safe.
We finally had 2 days of good rain so our fire dangers are low at this time.

Sounds like yer doin' real good with your foods/exercise..Great Job!

I love my Whey Protein Shakes.

I add a couple of strawberries to mine, 1/2 tsp. splenda, and 1 tsp. heavy cream. The cream helps thicken it up like a shake.
I find it more filling as well.

TTYL,

Stacy
