Sam's from Chunk to Hunk Journal :)

Hey everybody...

Been doing alright the past couple of days. Kind of depressed... I know a lot of you can relate. Still been making it to the gym though, and doing great on my workouts. I just need the food side of things to follow suit. I had a talk with my trainer and he was pretty understanding. He's lucky. He can eat whatever he wants and not gain an ounce (he has 3% BF)... Lucky him!

Yesterday I did triceps and biceps. Today we did an aerobic workout, which I followed with some more cardio (40 minutes). I'm trying to eat better today, I went grocery shopping last night. Part of me just wants to go eat something tasty and bad though. I'm not giving in.

I plan on trying my damnedest to get to the gym in the morning. I find it exceptionally hard to get out of bed in the morning to go to the gym and workout. If I have a PT appt. in the morning it's easier because it's something I cannot miss. If it's just me though it's a different story, lol. I'm going to try really hard tomorrow and get there. I also have to get my car inspected tomorrow as well.

Yesterday I ate really badly. I had a crown burger for lunch, with fries and fry sauce (so so bad) and then I ate a candy bar, chips, and ice cream later that night. I felt like i was on a bender or something. I weighed myself today at the gym and was up to 217.3... Not happy about that at all but, I want to get down to 210. So, I'm changing my ticker to reflect the smaller goal and see if that works.

You know Sam, we all have days like you had yesterday, so don't beat yourself up about it. Enjoy the fact that you were able to treat yourself, and just keep moving forward from there. As long as you don't treat yourself everyday (like I have a habit of doing) then you'll be fine. :) You can do it, we are all here for ya.

As far as getting up to go exercise, I have no idea what to say. I'm not a morning person and 80% of the time cannot hear alarm clocks when they are going off. I did once have a walking partner one spring and she would call me before 6am and did that for 2 weeks and then afterward, I was able to wake up without her calling, so maybe it's just our body needs some conditioning to do the things we want it to do.

So... Didn't make it to the gym this morning... I'm so bad! I do plan on working my core until failure tonite, so i'm not too worried. I will also probably throw in some chest and back dumbell exercises with my bench.

I really want to get to the gym tomorrow morning. I need to run and do my legs again. We'll see....

Food has been alright today. I had a bagel with some hummus this morning. Wasn't planning on eating that. At least i did it in the morning. It was a pretty calorie laden bagel I'm sure (asiago cheese)... I have tomato soup and a chicken breast for my meals tonite while I'm at work. I like to throw a string cheese in my tomato soup and melt it. For some reason it makes me feel like I'm eating something bad when I'm not,lol.

Hope everyone is having a great day! Good news, my little Honda passed it's emissions and inspections, so I will be driving it for at least another year, hopefully:)

Kinda wraps around his whole body, lol. I guess thats a weird way of explaining it. I guess I mean you can just see every single muscle in his core very well. I guess they were having a six-pack contest between the trainers at his gym... He won, but he is a lot more dedicated to his body than most of the other trainers are. He still eats what he wants but, he works out constantly and doesn't go out and drink or anything....

So, I had a few good days last week, and a few not so good. I need to get back on track. Just become dedicated to getting my cardio in and keeping my diet really clean. That is what's going to get the fat off like I want...

Interesting little tidbit, hehe. I have always done my hair to the right side of my head. It typically flows that way due to the natural part. Well, I've started doing it to the left and it looks amazing. I'm so happy. In all my 25 years I've never really done my hair to the left and now I am and it's like I have new hair, lol... I'm excited for when I put some blond in it here in a couple of weeks. It's going to look so good :)

Working overnight tonite and getting to the gym tomorrow is probably not going to happen... I need to sleep during the day tomorrow and will miss the hours that my gym is open... I plan on starting back up on Monday and thru the rest of the week.

Going to an Oscar party tomorrow night too. I'm planning on taking a fruit tray or something nutritious to munch on. I've only seen one movie that is nominated for an Oscar this year and it is Juno. Excellent movie. I hope it wins some awards.

Hope you had fun at the Oscar party... I'm with you that the movies were just unrecognizable to me for the most part. Jeez. Guess I need to get out more... oh well.

Nice work with the hair! Always good to fine a new way that looks good & cost nothing! The blonde will be fun... trust me I know!
(Just be sure to skip that Blonde & Blonder movie that just came out on DVD. I got it thinking it would be cheesy funny.... it was AWEFUL...I didn't finish it! Ug. no oscar, but maybe a Razzie!)
 
hey all.

So, it's official. I officially ate my way back up to 219... I'm not thrilled about it but, definitely don't want to stay there for long. Gym and diet are really priority #1 this week. (as they should be every week)

My oscar party was pretty fun. It was also part of the problem tho, lol. I had mimosas and beer, and there was some seriously good food too. It was a pretty good time, even though I didn't win any money.

Got to the gym today. Did chest and back with the trainer. He worked me pretty good. Tomorrow he says we are doing legs, just because I told him I didn't want to legs tomorrow, lol. I also was a good boy and got 30 minutes of cardio in today. Plan on doing more tomorrow. Diet today hasn't been too bad. I'm already at 1700 cals and it's only 6pm. So I'm going to have to eat light tonite.

Hey everybody.

I made it to the gym this morning and did legs with my PT. He worked me good today. Here is a glimpse of what we did:

Smith Squats 150lbs. 3x20
Back Weighted kickups (machine) 90lbs 3x20
Leg curls (machine) 70lbs. 3x20
Deadlifts 25lbs. 3x20
Stair calf raises 250 of them

I'm not going to lie. That workout was pretty tough for me because I had been kinda semi slacking on going really hard on my legs (like I used to do). I was sweating so bad my trainer was mopping up puddles behind me (no joke)LOL... I'm going to probably be pretty sore on Fri. or so. After my legs i did the elliptical for 20 minutes and then jogged for about 10... I've been kind of slacking on the running lately. I don't feel like I'm as up to steam with it as I used to be. I also know there is a Couch to 5k club going on right now and I'm thinking about asking if i can join? I could get myself back up to running 3 miles pretty regularly... I also want something to get me jazzed about March and the start of Spring.

Diet today has been surprisingly good. So, no worries there. I've been pretty busy at work today, so maybe that has curbed some of my boredom eating that typically goes on at work for me...

Hey all.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I did. I had 3 whole days off of work and I made it to the gym all 3 of those days for hardcore workouts. I also did my first two days of the C25K program, on Friday and Sunday. It was fun. I have managed to whittle myself (lol) back down a few lbs. in the past week or so too.

I ended up taking today off from the gym because I had been there the three days prior and know I will be there tomorrow and Weds. because of my PT appointments. I have to remember to do crunches tonite till I can't anymore, every other day. It's a regimen I need to focus on.

The running I have to admit was pretty fun this weekend. I was blaring my ipod with all this new music I put on it. I love workouts at the gym like that. Where you can just zone out :)

Food wise hasn't been great. It is seriously the major area I struggle in. I just like to eat whatever I want, lol. I have to really work on that. I am making it to the gym though, and getting my workouts in, and I have completely given up the diet coke in my diet :)

argh how that food will get us in the end! I haven't been the greatest foodwise either! Good luck to both of us from this point on!

Hey all.

Made it to the gym this morning. PT and I decided I needed to work my core out. He just had me doing these core exercises until I couldn't anymore (failure)... Not too much fun, but definately a good workout. I then followed this with 20 minutes on the elliptical trainer and then 25 minutes on the treadmill for Week 1 Day 3 of the C25K Program.

Food has been alright today. Definitely trying to get under that 213.5 mark I hit over the weekend. I have to go grocery shopping tonite, so I plan on stocking up on the essentials.

I must admit I'm pretty stiff and sore lately. I've had some more intense workouts in the past week than I have in awhile. It's a good sore though. The type that I miss when it's gone. It constantly reminds me that I am being productive at the gym and building muscle and burning fat.

Right now I'm in Day 4 of this deal I have with my bros to not shave for 10 days... I usually shave everyday, lol. It's not so bad. I actually think I might look halfway decent with some hair on my face. We shall see. I still have almost a whole other week to go.

Didn't make it to the gym today (thurs) but I did get there yesterday and did chest and back with my trainer. Followed that with 45 minutes of cardio.

I don't know if I am going to go to the gym today or not. It is my scheduled day to do the Week 2 Day 1 of C25K. I might just do it tomorrow morning being that I already planned to go to the gym that day anyways, and I don't get off work tonite until 10pm....

Food has been alright today. Had some tomato soup for lunch with a string cheese melted into it (yummo), and not sure on whats for dinner yet.

Given the snowy weather, that sounds amazing!

I still can't believe it snowed here in Texas! In March! It's total craziness.

Hello all...

Made it to the gym on Friday morning. Didn't make it today though, and probably won't make it tomorrow. I'm doing the working overnite thing again this weekend. At least we have daylight savings tonite so my shift will be an hour shorter (hopefully).

Food choices haven't been the greatest over the past day or two... What else is new. I do now have amazing groceries and will start eating them. Went out to the bar last night. My friend ended up getting really drunk and I had to drive her and her car home... I was carrying her out of the club over the threshold style, lol. She ended up puking in her car too. We finally get to her house and we cant find her house key. She ends up pounding on the door and her dad answers (she lives with her parents still and they are pretty religious LDS) and its like 3am.... It was so bad, hehe.

I went on a bit of a shopping spree on Friday. I had a little bit of money to spend... Since I'm still not in a 32 yet, I wouldn't let myself buy any jeans. So naturally, I bought shoes, lol. I ended up getting 2 pairs of Diesels. I'm still happy about it.

Thanks for visiting my diary. Looks like you have some tough workouts with your PT.

I have been with my PT for about 4-5 months now and it has been really good. Been focusing alot on back and shoulders and core. Have picked up the legs more recently. I can't believe how many different exercises there are to do. I can't believe that just the other day I actually did 20 sit ups with nothing holding my legs (for me - this is impressive). Even though I'd lost a lot of weight I was quite weak / not so muscular, so this has helped me build back up a lot!

I go twice a week witht the PT and then another 2-3 times a week on my own to do cardio... I'd go every day with a PT if I could afford it. I'm getting lazy and not going on my own as much lately.

I've found it to be a really good investment but I do need to start doing the stuff on my own more. I can't go 2x a week forever.

How about you - how often do you go?
