Hey... I'm glad you don't let your in-laws get to you. You're doing a great job with your dieting and keeping track of what you eat!

Its becoming a bit of an obsession really - I know the calorie content of most things in my fridge and cupboard right now! :) What I have learnt is about portion size. When I was measuring out my pasta I realised that before I had been giving myself twice as much as a recommended portion. I can see now how I managed to put on the weight eating massive sized portions of food.

HAHAHA!! I think it's funny you are so "fridge aware"! It's so easy to put on weight when you don't know the real protion size.

I saw that you were in my diary! You really ARE sneaky!! :p

Add 30 mins cardio exercise to my diary - woohoo - was feeling guilty about all the exercise everyone else was doing that I got off my arse and did some myself!

YAY for cardio... well more like yay that your 30 min are over! :) Good job for "getting off your arse". haha

Only had 2 cups of tea today and didn't get my headache so I think it may have been the caffeine withdrawal. Started getting cravings when I got back from work and with me being so tired almost caved in to a take-out. Luckily the forum was on hand and instead made myself a much healthy dinner and have stuck well within my calorie limit for the day.

Breakfast
No time for breakfast

Lunch
Salad with reduced fat brie (no dressing) (150 calories)
Strawberries (30 calories)

Dinner
Microwave lasagne with added cheese (545 calories)
Vegetables (45 calories)

Snacks
2 dried fruit bars (82 calories)
2 cups of tea (10 calories)
Orange juice ice lolly (30 calories)

Total = 892 (308 left for snacks whilst watching movie)

Day 4 and it is getting a little harder. Over the euphoria of starting a new diet and knowing at the end I will look good, and instead just facing a long few months of missing out on the things I like. I am determined to stick by it this time and just trying to take it day by day till the weeks fly past.

Had a good day so far, only 230 calories for breakfast and dinner but I think it may all go wrong this evening. My boyfriend is coming back for the weekend and wants to take me out for dinner. Its not that often we get the opportunity to go out and we really could do with it, but I don't want to spoil my diet. I hope that there is something on the menu that won't spoil my calorie count and I am hoping that temptation doesn't get the better of me - I really need to avoid the starters and desserts.

*Fingers crossed for strength this evening*

Yay!!! Your bf is coming back in town!! Have fun at dinner and avoid bad food at all costs!! The enjoyment you get from going to dinner shouldn't be focused around the food that you are eating! It should be focused on your bf coming back into town after you'd missed him so much!!! :) I'm so happy for you!

Thanks, its only for the weekend then he goes away again for 3 weeks but I am just so pleased that he can make it. You're right about the food, if I dont think about it, and avoid starters and desserts I can't go to far wrong. I've been saving up more snacks for the day so I have about 1000 calories to spare. That should cover a dinner out I think. :)

1000 calories should definately cover dinner!! I hope you have a lot of fun! Just think when he comes back after these next three weeks you'll be that much smaller!!! :)

Boyfriend will be arriving in 2 hours! Very happy and have planned where to go to eat-out so won't ruin all the good work I have put in.

Breakfast
No time for breakfast (this is beginning to be a bad habit)

Lunch
Salad with reduced fat brie (with dressing) (200 calories)
Strawberries (30 calories)
Orange juice ice lolly (30 calories)

Dinner
Going out to Nando's and will have
Diet coke (0 calories)
Chicken salad (182 calories)

So I ate out last night and didn't break my calorie count.

I had the chicken salad with dressing 282 caloires, a hand full of olives and some peri-peri fries. Not sure what the total is but I am fairly sure I didn't go over. So pleased that I managed to resist all my favourites, and still had a great night out. This is looking like a good week.

Weight in tomorrow!

Headaches are much better thanks :) and down to one cup of tea in the morning.

Breakfast
Got up too late for breakfast

Lunch
Salad with reduced fat brie (with dressing) (200 calories)
Strawberries (30 calories)
Orange juice ice lolly (30 calories)
Hot chocolate (40 calories)

Dinner
Cajun chicken with potatoes (444 calories)
Vegetables (50 calories)

Total = 794 calories (406 spare for a glass of wine this evening)

Yesterday had half a glass of wine and a dried fruit bar so didn't go over my calorie limit!

Weigh in = Lost 8 pounds this week

Seems quite a lot but I think a fair bit of it was because I weighed myself last week straight after dinner, and I had a lot of excess water. Has given my diet a very good kick start but I am expecting a regular loss of about 2 pounds for the next few weeks. I have 9 weeks to go until my birthday so I could in theory by down to 140 by then which isn't my goal, but its the lowest weight I have been since I was a teenager!

Just taking it one day a at time!

Goals for next week - more exercise

Boyfriend has gone away to work for the next 2-3 weeks so on a bit of a downer. Trying my hardest not to binge which is my normal response to feeling sad. So far been doing well today and am very pleased with my week one progress. As long as I can keep this up for the next 10 weeks or so I should be heading where I want to be.

Breakfast
Cereal and non-fat milk (181 calories)

Lunch
Salad with reduced fat brie (with dressing) (200 calories)
Strawberries (30 calories)
Hot chocolate (40 calories)

Dinner
Low-fat sausages (220 calories)
Mashed potato (180 calories)
Vegetables (50 calories)
Gravy (50 calories)

Total for the day = 951 calories (249 spare for evening snack)

Planning to exercise this evening and have decided to pack away the scales until next sunday as I seem to junp on them everytime I walk past!
