Wow. I can't believe I came here. I guess that means I'm serious about this.

Well. I want to lose 25 pounds, I think. Hopefully I won't give up like I usually do. Hah.

Welcome Roody:
Congrats on your decision to start. I too recently started and want to lose about 30 pounds. Once you get into the groove and see the results it gets easier. Good luck.:D

Thank you. :)

Yeah. That is my problem. I give up too early to see results. But I MUST stick with it. :3

Welcome to both of you! You can do this, and getting the support you need is super easy on this forum. Everyone here is ready to cheer you on, and I wish you luck on your journey to lose weight!

Welcome again!

One of my biggest problems is tracking my calories and late night snacking. Excercise has always come easy for me. If I can learn to do both at the same time, then I'll be ok. I just hit the 2 pound mark and still going strong. I look forward to reading about your success.

Thanks for the support. ;3

Hmm. Well. I guess today was the start of my 'diet'. Haha. Not really. Let's see. I had a breakfast bar thing for breakfast. No lunch, although my bud gave me a mini pringle. Hah. And I had some lasagna. And then cake. Umm. Yeah. The cake was good. But I won't have anymore. I'm gonna take Tucker out for a jog tonight try to work off some calories. Hah. Going horseback riding on Friday with my friend. YAY. And I might have a lesson this week as well. :)

Hi Roody,
Welcome to the WLF and remember, you need to eat to lose weight - eating several smaller meals throughout the day will help ward off the attack of starving later in the day :)

Best of luck to you,

BLEH. I suck at this big time. Hah. I need a new plan....

Every time I see these skinny horseback riders I wish I was them. But I can never stick with my goal. I mean, exercising is great. That's not the hard part. I can't eat right. Like, no matter what.

And sometimes I don't have time to exercise because of all this school crap. So much to do. Then I love reading about horses... and I tend to get sucked in and I can't stop. Then at night, when I should be jogging, I sometimes talk with my friends on aim for, like, hours. /:

So. Here's what I'm going to TRY. I'm going to write down my restrictions/guidlines/whatever. Like, what I can't eat, how I should exercise.... blah, blah, blah.... But then you see there is another problemo I have. When I see food I want I just sorta eat it without thinking kind of. So I shall tie a string around my finger as a reminder.

But yuh know. I don't know how I can stick with this forever, yah know.... Wish we didn't live in a stupid subdivision.... if we lived in the country I could get out everyday. But nooooo, my dad refuses to move to his land... and WORSE, he puts us 60000 dollars in debt by buying some gay bull dozer he doesn't need! AHHHH. I love this. Hah. Get everything off my chest here. Whee.

If I lived at our land I could take Sargie to live with me. And I could ride him everyday. < 3333

Oh, if only, if only....

So anyways. I CAN DO THIS.

^^ Maybe I'll try the smaller meals thingie too. Thanks mucho.

ANYWAYS. Time for curl ups then bedddd. Night.

You can do this, and writing everything down does help I know it did for me.

I wish I lived in the country too, but sadly, i've lived in the suburbs for my whole life, in one place or another. :D Anywho, hope you're doing well! keep up the good work! :D

try
it will help you work out how many calories you should be eating and also help you to monitor the calories you do eat and the calories that you burn off during the day. it will give you an idea of what you are really eating :)
hope this helps

Good luck with everything Roody.

I have found that the plan at Sparkpeople.com has helped me keep focused & given me guidelines to help me go where I want to weight wise. Plus its free so why not give it a shot if you want some guidance.

Horseback riding sounds like so much fun & I'm sure give you some of a workout.

hang in there & know that there is always someone on here to root you on or give you a kick in the tush when you need it! :)

Thanks so much. I'll look at the websites you all gave me. I never really think about calories. I started looking at them more today. Just a tad. Hah.

'Kay. I think I can do this. I just got back from an hour long walk/jog. I feel good. Hah. But I bet Fluffy is sore. xD

So I started the day of rather badly because I was sorta depressed and thought I could never lose weight. I ate like four granola bars for breakfast. Hah. I was going to just eat two. But I ate two more because I was trying to stall. Haha. So that's 400 calories right there.

My dad forgot to take me with him to church. Psh posh. But I didn't eat anything.

I decided not to go to Bojangles. Mostly because I hate it there. So I ate a PB&J. Which was yummy. Then I took Tucker on a short walk.

Then I ate some sunflower seeds. And crackers. Lots of crackers. /:

So I decided I'd take Mr. Fluff on a long walk to try and even things out a bit. It sucks though because he's old and slow. Haha. So when I jogged I was sort of dragging him. Poor guy. Haha.

And now I'm having a nice glass of water. I forgot how good water tasted. Gosh, I should stop drinking tea. I'm sure it's not that good for me. But it's soooo good. Haha.

Time to watch more Monk. :)

Hey! I saw that you posted a thread for weight loss buddies. I'm in. My AIM is xorie5@aol.com and I'm usually always online. BUT, if you do message me and I don't answer, it's because i'm away from the computer. I just never log off, so i'm on 24/7 :D

Also, There's a new thread for people 20 years and younger who are trying to lose weight. It's pretty cool, because everyone there is close to the same age, and we all want to lose weight.

That's the link, so go pop in! :D

I know you can do this!

I haven't been here in a while. Hah. Because I had given up again! But I'm back into this. I think... But I restarted yesterday.

Yesterday I had 2 granola bars for breakfast so that's 200 calories. And then we went to McDonalds and I had the chicken snack wrap and a large tea... 'cause that's the only thing I like. Hah. Then I went to see my favorite horsie in the whole wide world, Sarge. :) I had a few bites from an apple and of course I gave the rest to my poor begging horse. Hah. Then I ran him around a bit on the lead rope. And then I saw how dirty his shelter was and I mucked it. It took 3 hours to get all the poo out. Haha. So that was quite a workout. And afterwards my granny made me a chicken snadwich. And then when we got home I had a chocolate milk... which is 170 calories. So that wasn't too bad.

Today is worse though. I had the 2 granola bars, 200 calories. Then I had chili for lunch. And I always put chips and sour cream in my chili. And then I had a bag of cheez-its which are 220 calories. So I won't eat anything else. And I'm planningon taking Tucker out for a jog. I know he'd love that.

And thanks Xorie! I added you on aim. I'm ratasimia. :)

Kaykay. I've started something I'm going to finish. I've decided to do the whole dieting thing the whole month of March. And I'm hoping I'll see results by the end of the month. But if not I'll try to keep it up. I've been counting my calories and that is definatly helping. Yesterday I had about 1100 calories but no exercise. And today I'd say around 1300ish. And I played with the horsie and cleaned his stall for exercise. And I'm going to walk Tucker tonight, I think. P:

Oh. And I've given up tea and soda for the most part. It was pretty hard to give up tea. But water is just as good. :)

Why give up tea? I didn't think it had any calories in it.
And... Green tea promotes weight loss! Don't stop!

Giving up soda is a big step, good job!

Seeing as you are from New York I think you're probably talking about unsweetened tea. Haha. We drink sweet tea. Whenever I go up north I always wonder how you guys drink your tea unsweetened. Haha. xD

Anywho. I had a rather cruddy weekend. But I'm going to get back on track this week. I had a marvelous riding lesson yesterday and that inspired me a bit more.

My legs are getting more muscle, I think. Hah. We're working on posting the trot which uses your legs a lot. And the horse, Rio, has the bumpiest gaits. So I'm rather sore. Haha. I love ms. Rio though. <3

Ummm. Tomorrow I'm going to clean more horse poo. Hurrah! Hah. So I'll play with Sargie some and we can share an apple. He's such an inspiration. I need to get him in shape now! Buahaha. :)<

Sounds like my days! When there isn't any school, I go out to the barn and just clean and clean and clean stalls. The other day, I did 12...it was amazing. :D But I've got monsterous muscles on the backs of my arms. :D

Does you're instructor make you ride with your feet out of the stirrups? Vel does, and I hear it's quite nasty on your legs.

Anywho, I'm glad you had fun! :D

I am a southerner as well, and the first time I went to NYC I found out that restaurants up north don't even make sweet tea. The attrocity!
