Rocket Surgery 4 Dummies-Griff's Musings

Griff, straighten me out on rules for the road trip. Does the exercise have to be a set aside time where you aren't pulling double duty? Because I went up and down stairs carrying boxes to the car for 30 minutes and want to know if I can count it. I definately broke a sweat!

42 miles good lord sir, way to kick that thing's ass!

Sounds like not only are you doing very well, but the morale is higher than ever....keep it rockin'

Well it's supposed to be intentional exercise. Go ahead and put it down as 30 minutes of exercise though because it was definitely exercise.

WTG Griff... Down 44 pounds and you rode 42 miles on that Bike! Damn you are kicking ass!

I'm sorry you're going through tons of things:hug2: We'll take as much of you around here as we can get:hug2:

Keep up the amazine work:)

Thanks Jenna! You always kick ass in the gym too!

Daaammmnnn! I think you kicked the bike's ass today! That is smokin'. You deserve another b&t for that--of course all this beer is probably counteracting all your cardio..lol Good thing it's just cyber beer--very low-cal. :beerchug: :beerchug:

I'm not sure if I was the kicker or the kickee but something got there ass whooped today! Don't worry about the beer counteracting the cardio - I think it would be cool to have a frosty one in the cup holder on the bike - now that would draw some stares:rotflmao:

Hey Chef - Thanks for stopping by! I've got a lot going on but I will always keep it rockin'

Good morning Fat Fighters!

All is good in Griffville today! I weighed 215.4 this morning!:jump: I am approaching no-mans land soon, meaning a weight that I haven't been to in a long long time.

No workout planned for today - too much going on tonight. I'll probably get a workout in tomorrow and that will probably be it for the week since we'll be moving this weekend and nothing is packed yet:eek:

I hope everyone has a great day!

Griff

Good Morning Griff:hug2:

Way to go Griff... with that bike ride yesterday its no surprise you went down! You work so hard everyday:hug2:

Moving alone will be a ton of exercise for you! When we moved last year we were still packing on the day we left ... its hard to pack up your life in advance while your still living it!

Good Luck on the Move:)

Tammy, Kimberly and Amber - Thanks for being here ladies - it means a lot!

Well it's official - I kicked my own butt today at the gym. I decided that since I had the time I would do Insane Cardio Day! I rode 42 miles on the bike! I was shooting for 40 and blew right by it! Burned about 1000 calories according to the machine. I averaged over 24 mph for 1 hour and 44 minutes - including a cool down. It felt great! You may be asking why I would want to ride that long....to see if I could! Plus after about 10 miles I was so into it that I wasn't even thinking about all the poop going on at all!

Thanks for the Black and Tan Kimberly - just what I needed:beerchug:

I hope everyone had a great day!

Griff

WOW !! You really did some peddling !! That is great ! And Congrats on the poundage lost ! What an Awesome job you are doing ! :beerchug:

Congrats on the weight loss today! Looks like your insane cardio day paid off. Good luck with the move this weekend--I have moved waaay too much, so I know how much of a pain in the rear it is. Just keep a few frosty ones nearby so that you don't get dehydrated. :beerchug:

Wow... it seems everyone's shrinking today! (Jenna, Elle, Alee, Chef...) Congrats with the weight loss, Griff! You know, I really hope you post before and after pix, because after the amount of work you put into your diet and exercise, I know for a fact you'll inspire tons of people. (Hell, you've already inspired everyone in your diary as it is...) Looking good, doll.... keep up the great work! Also, amazing job with the biking miles. Damn.... after 20 miles, I think my ass would pass out. I'd have to revive myself with a zucchini shake.. or some zucchini bread... LOL! jk (Inside joke people)

Hey Sheryl - LOL:rotflmao: I have been unable to come up with a good 'before' picture so far. I wish I had thought to take one when I started. Thanks for your kind words - I really inspire people?!? - I'm just a regular guy fighting my way out of a fat suit.

Good morning Fat Busters! (I borrowed that one from Jenna)

I hope everyone has a great day today! My youngest started Kindergarten today! Now both my girls are at the same school. I packed a few boxes last night so things are at least beginning to look like I am actually moving this weekend.

Jenna, MG-squared, and Kimberly - Thanks a ton for stopping by yesterday and for your awesome support!

Later.

Griff

Well, personally speaking, you have inspired me without a question. I just find it awesome that not only are you a great guy, but you're a hard worker, you kick ass when it comes to working out (yes, you've made the bike "your bitch"), and you're an active daddy. Griff = Super Dad. Anywho... I just wanted to drop in to say keep up the good work...

oh and before I forget..... My zuch bread brings all the boys to the yard ... and they're like it's better than yours... LMAO!! Enjoy! HA!

Awww...I'll bet that was hard to send your baby off to her first day of kindergarten! How did her first day go?

And you are a great inspiration. For anyone who uses the stress and family problems in their life as an excuse not to eat healthy and exercise, you are the one they should try to emulate. Because you don't allow it to get in the way of your weight loss goals. I hold you in very high regard b/c of it. You don't whine and make excuses--you go out and do it. Woohoo! Here's to Griff! :beerchug: Dammit, I think I've inadvertantly joined YOUR harem! :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Thanks for your kind words - I'll take the title of Super Dad anyday!

You and your Zuchs...:rotflmao:

My babies just wont stop growing up! She was such a big girl this morning and walked right into class full of confidence! I am so proud of her. Thank you for kind words too. Working out helps me deal with stress - and I have a lot of stress - If stress were people I'd be China. So lots of stress = lots of workouts. The harder part is eating right. Stress makes me want to eat like I used to eat - and that is NOT good. So far I've been able to do very well with my eating. They brought pizza into the office again today. I went out and had a salad with grilled chicken. And of course you are in my harem you silly girl:)

Thanks for stopping by ladies.

They grow up so quickly. Before you know it, your babies will be having babies of their own--but not before they're 25, b/c they can't date until then! :rotflmao:

I think you could use a good massage to help with all that stress, and if I weren't married, I'd give you one to remember (haha). But working out is a great stress reliever--and it's much healthier, more productive and beneficial than eating everything in sight. So keep up the great work!

Your will power is greater than mine. I would've had one little piece--damn, I love pizza.

And of course you are in my harem you silly girl:) Well, I tried not to be since we are in competition, but you broke down my defenses...:rotflmao:

Thanks for stopping by ladies.

wow, thats AMAZING! The most Ive ever done on one of those bikes is 45 minutes at the MOST, and Im assuming its because I never workout and then get these strange urges to randomly go to the gym and see how far I can push myself, haha. Usually its not too far. I need to start working out on a regular basis.. thats why im so excited to start college in a couple weeks- access to the student wellness center and the gym! So maybe Ill be able to kick my own butt too. :) Congrats on that workout.. that's a lot of effort, and congrats on the weight loss so far!! Its great. Being in better shape means being healthier and more energetic for your kids. Isnt that right Mr. Super Dad? Isnt that what they've been calling you? haha.

Keep going, you're doing great !

Haha! You sound just like me. When I travel, I wait until the very last minute to pack my suitcase. I'll bet you do, too. I always thought I was a terrible procrastinator, but I think you might actually be worse!!

I think it's hard for us to find good before pics b/c at that weight we tend to shy away from cameras. I know I avoided them like the plague!! I don't know if I have ANY before pics, much less a "good" one! lmbo:rotflmao:

Have a great day, Griff!
