I don't likee paleo diet completely. It's too much meat. What I do like is that they don't do grains. Now are grains good or bad, not really sure. I always thought whole grains were good for you, but who knows what to believe. The goverments say what's good with who is supporting them financially! So what's good, what's bad... it sucks. I read part of the China study and it has very strong points against animal protein. So if I had all the time in the world and not a picky toddler and eventually another picky toddler, I would go toward more of a vegetarian diet. I wouldn't not eat meat ever, but I would try to make most of my meals vegetarian with the odd meat here and there. That would be my ultimate goal. I've already stopped buying milk, and get almond milk instead. So that's one thing. I still buy the odd yogurt and cheese every so often. I'm not the biggest fan of meat anyway, but I eat it. So for the paleo thing, I am not really going to follow many of their breakfasts. I have steel cut oats (oatmeal, but not the quick oat stuff) and some cereals that I have to use up. So on days that I don't like the paleo breakfast, I will have oatmeal, cereal or a smoothie for breakfast instead. Once my cereal is done though, I'm not buying more... those are full of crap.
On to how horrible I did for supper. I went to a Japanese restaurant and did all you can eat! GAH! My hubby said he was craving it, we were out running errands and it was late and my daughter was hungry. It would have taken too long to cook the dinner that was on the plan. So yeah, I went over by 600 calories. Would have been worse if I didn't breastfeed because that burns 500 calories. If it wasn't for that I would have been over by 1100!
Tomorrow is a new day. I think the best plan is to not go out in the late afternoon so we don't get suckered into the whole, it's late, the kids are hungry, lets go out to eat.. trap. Also, when we go out at that time it messes up with the baby's afternoon nap (she tends to fall asleep in the car and falls asleep too early, which makes it hard in the evening because she's too tired). So yeah... do errands after dinner! And don't give into tempation when hubby says... man I want to eat this! That's the hardest!
