Risty's Diary (Christina)

It's great that you're back! I'm sure you'll be back on track and on your way to your desired weight in no time! :D

Daybehavior & Snezy - Thanks!

So today I haven't taken in many calories yet. I had my wisdom tooth taken out 2 days ago and it's been hard to get enough calories in. It's especially important since I'm still nursing my daughter. I need an extra 400 cals for sure per day just for that, maybe even more (depends how much she drinks, but I have no idea how to tell!) lol

Breakfast - Quaker instant oatmeal (one pack maple and brown sugar, one pack regular and mixed them together) - 280.

Lunch - Homemade zucchini soup - 415

I didn't get to have a morning snack as I was babysitting and not at my own house. I plan to have a protein drink, yogurt, applesauce.... and hopefully I can actually eat dinner tonight. Hubby is going to make shephards pie (with ground turkey). He's going to cut everything up treally small so I don't have to chew so much. If it's too sore, I'll just have cream of wheat... again... lol. Or alphaghetti since the noodles in there are tiny and super soft. That all still won't be enough calories so I'm going to have to work on that throughout the day.

It's so hard to find time to eat when my LO (little one) takes up so much of my time and doesn't want to be put down. I tend to eat when she's having her naps.

Risty! So glad to see you are still around. Don't know if you remember me at all, I was here last year then fell of the diet wagon hard. Grats on the little one!

I completely remember you! Probably helps that you have an anime avatar ;) ;) ;) Hehe.... how is everything with you? How's your recent weight loss journey going? I should try and look for your diary after!

Food for today:

Breakfast: Oatmeal (one packet maple and brown sugar, one regular - mixed together) - 280

Lunch - Homemade zucchini soup - 415

Snack - 1/2 cup peach yogurt - 140

Dinner - one can of alphaghetti - 300, 2 soft double chocolate cookies - 260

Snack - chocolate protein powder and 1 cup skim milk - 180, applesauce 100 - total 280

Total - 1675

Calories burned - 400 from nursing

Total overall - 1275

So the overall calories is kind of low, but it's been hard to eat with having my wisdom tooth removed. Those soft cookies were SO good, but took me forever to eat, lol.

Caught a cold, feel like death... lol. I hurt everywhere. Hopefully the baby sleeps well tonight. I'll try and post more tomorrow, but if not I'll try and check in with everyone in a few days.

You burn calories nursing? That is *awesome*. I've missed your posts. So glad you're back to stayyyy! I've fallen off the wagon, need you to drag my butt back on!! xxx

Hi Risty! Thanks for the post on my blog.

I'll be checking up on you regularly.

And yeah, I've read that women burn many calories nursing. Who would've thought! haha. And no I'm not a woman, just a science junky. :p

Sun - Yeah you burn I think 20 calories per ounce of milk you produce. So I think I'm burning minimum 400 calories since every night I pump 4-5 oz alone (for her bedtime bottle, only time she really gets a bottle but I want to know how much she drinks before bed, plus keep her used to the bottle) and that's 80-100 calories burned right there! So yeah, I think it's 400 minimum, but it's hard to know how much she drinks everytime.

Tbone - glad to know you love anime too! I wish I had friends in town that liked anime... I need people to watch it with! LOL... Well, with the baby now, I don't really have much time. I can't wait until she's a little older, lol.

Ok, so the weird full body pain only lasted that night. Haven't had any other symptoms really... so it's weird. Though I have had some chest pain on and off the past couple days, but I think that's coming from my back because the baby is just getting heavier and wants to be carried most of the time. Plus now to put her to sleep I have to put her in the carseat and walk around with it and that's heavy as hell! Ugh!

I've stuck within my calorie range that I want to be at, so that's good :)

I'm so tired today. When the baby went to sleep she stayed asleep... if I could see into the future and know that I would have gone to bed right away! lol... She's "napping" right now... I keep hearing little noises so she's either awake, waking, or hopefully transitioning back to sleep. Her naps are on average only 30 mins. Nope, she started talking now, she's awake :p I feel like I just get to sit down and have a break and she's awake again *sigh*. Only maybe 1-3 times a week she will have a longer nap of 1.5-2 hours and I hope that becomes more frequent.

ALOL aww you poor thing. Babies always seem to know when youre ready to doze off :D
I used to be a bit of an anime freak myself...what are your favorites?

Haha, I swear they do know!

Man, I love almost anything. But some of my fav's are Trigun, Escaflowne, Howl's Moving Castle & Spirited Away (I know those two are teamed with disney but are still awesome), Macross Plus, Full Metal Alchemist. I really like Record of Lodoss War, Full Metal Panic, Ghost in the Shell. Some that I own that I haven't had a chance to watch yet are Samurai 7and Rurouni Kenshin. Some that I want to see but don't own are Bleach, Death Note, Saiyuki... well... almost anything really! I own and have seen a bunch more too. To think, Sailor Moon started it all.. LOL... I still like that one, though the enemies at the very end (along with the voice changes in the english version put me off it, though I do intent on watching it all again anyways), haha.

AYou should DEFINITELY see Kenshin, its one of my all time faves. Death Note and Bleach are pretty damn good too. Well actually I stopped watching Bleach for the same reason I stopped watching Naruto. Both anime were catching up to their respective manga too fast, so they had to make these horribly, mind numbingly boring and unbearable filler episodes (at least that's what I understand the reason for filler episodes. The Naruto filler lasted for like 30 episodes, and I think Bleach had even more. It was horrible LOL.

Anyway, I'm not ashamed to admit to Sailor Moon was my first contact with anime as well, but I was like 13 at the time and to be fair it was damn good show :)

Death Note is AWESOME. I also really loved Samurai Champloo, one of my faves! Hahahaha I grew up on Sailor Moon too, I actually draw a bit of anime too if the mood takes me  I'm lucky enough my hubby is a fan too so we can both watch it together

I hate filler episodes too! But I'm the type of person that HAS to finish watching what I've started!

Yay! Another anime fan! My hubby likes anime too, we just got caught up in computer gaming though.. and now with the baby there's no time! When she's in bed, I want to sleep too, lol. I also love to draw anime. Must admit that I haven't done that in a LONG time, but I would love to get back into it. I've heard samurai champloo was good, I should check that one out as well!

Don't have much time, baby is awake! So a brief update...

Went way over on calories this weekend. Celebrated my wedding anniversary and we went out for lunch and dinner. Then my mom did a brunch for my sister's and my LO's baptism (my sis's baby is 3 weeks younger than mine). And my grandma did a dinner to celebrate all that plus my other sister's wedding anniversary and my other sister's bday. I have 3 sister if that was confusing, lol.

So... must do better this week!

ADon't sweat it, Risty. I guess we have to make allowances for special occasions. Its like they say: its what we do for most of the year that counts. Lasagna is a big weakness for me too ;)

Hehe, yeah I love lasagna so much... well any pasta really. And pizza... and Indian..... and Japanese.... mmmm. LOL

Ok, so it's been a few days, I think. I feel like I'm going crazy. My baby is SO hard to get to sleep for her naps. She will fuss, cry, rub her eyes, yawn.... I know she's tired, but trying to make her go to sleep is hell. The only thing that works is feeding her and that doesn't always work. I need to find a way of getting her to fall asleep on her own before I go nuts.

A~sending positive energy in your direction~ You sound pretty frazzled :( but I'm sure the LO is well worth it :)

I hope you can find time to update us on your exercise and diet soon.

So I don't get a chance to come on very often, as I have little spare time.

We figured out a way to put her down for a nap! YAY! The procedure is to give her a blanket so she can hold it and put it to her face, hold her tightly (so she doesn't squirm as much) and bounce her (sitting on the yoga ball). It works great! Hopefully it doesn't change, the way I have to put her to sleep seems to only work for a few weeks and then she fights it and I have to find a new way! But this way does work well and fast, so I hope it sticks for a while. One day she will have to learn to fall asleep on her own, but I don't know when they start learning that kind of thing.

My exercise is non existent minus the fact that I'm lifting and carrying my 17 lb baby a lot of the day! It's exhausting. I do sit ups with her every so often, I rest her on my legs and move her closer and farther away from me while I do the sit ups.. lol. She thinks it's funny,

I have been sticking to my calorie goals all week! Not eating the healthiest stuff but I'll work on that.
