Risty's Diary (Christina)

Thanks everyone!

brawny77 - man you crack me up, I need you on instant messaging or something throughout the day! haha.... No it wasn't from blood loss :p The bleeding stopped after a few bandaids, no stitches needed thank goodness!

overtherainbow - I didn't get a chance to come on yesterday. The only time I had to get my workout done was after the kids were in bed. After that I had to shower and then I was too tired to come on. Today I got to sneak my workout in at noon because the baby woke up late today so she went for her nap later and my toddler went to sleep a little sooner than usual. Good thing my hubby was home because 20 mins in (workout is 25 mins, plus a couple mins of stretching) she woke up. So with him here I got to finish it. Oh and I'm being careful with my knee. They have someone in the video doing modified versions of everything, so I can do those if need be.

---

Workouts are going well so far. I like them. Just need to be careful of my calories. With burning calories for breastfeeding and exercising I tend to not eat enough calories. So I really need to pay attention and try and get some extra calories in... the mornings are when I really need to up it a bit.

I would post more, but I'm super tired and need to get to bed. It's 11L30 and the baby can wake up anytime and need feeding/putting back to sleep. She's been waking often lately... I can't wait until she sleeps through the night... or even just wakes up once! lol

This sounds so much like my life at the min. Baby crying as soon as workout starts. I have to fit them in while hubby's home.
And i'm having issues with calories for the same reason. Not easy finding a balance.
I was in bed from 8:30 last night because the kids kept getting up 1 after the other. It will pass :).
Glad you're enjoying workouts.

CloudyMuffin - No problem! I wish I had more time to write more in everyone's diaries every day! I hardly have time for myself though! I'll pop in as often as I can!

angel - It is very hard!! The baby wakes up a lot and my toddler has been waking once a night, not every night, but a few times a week if not a bit more. I hate working out at night after they are sleeping because I'm exhausted by then! It wouldn't be so bad if it was early, but by the time my toddler gets to sleep it's on average 9:30 pm! I didn't do too bad on my calories yesteday, but the hot fudge sundae at costco really helped up them! HAHA... ok, it's not funny, but it was the only bad thing I ate and it was so good!

--------

I snuck in my workout this morning. Baby woke at 5:30 and after I got her back to sleep, I did the workout and hoped that neither kid would wake up! The baby cried out once, but didn't wake so I got lucky!! My abs have been sore all week and today was the ab intervals day... omg, it was painful!!! lol.. I had to do a lot of the modified versions of the exercises. Damn being out of shape! I hate not being able to do what others can do, and do effortlessly!

You are one determined lady exercising at that time. That is some commitment. Good for you!
Can you not take the kids for a walk or anything in a stroller? Get exercise that way. And don't have to wait till late night.

angel - My toddler hates being in the stroller, she'd rather walk, but it wouldn't be much exercise with her walking as she is slow (obviously) and then the baby would want out and it would just not be good! lol I have actually been able to squeeze my workouts in the day! Today I did it in the afternoon when the baby went down early and my toddler was still sleeping! Otherwise it would have been tonight.

------

So I touched on this briefly in my reply to angel but here it goes: So today I was super tired and couldn't get my butt out of bed to do the workout early. Then I was kicking myself because the baby woke early, which meant she would go have a nap early and then would be awake when my toddler went to bed. But because of that she had her second nap early which was great because my toddler was still asleep! So I got to squeeze in my workout. Thank goodness for these short workouts, I'd never be able to do any longer right now. 28 minutes is hard enough to squeeze in!!! lol

I was SO sore yesterday! I've been sore in different ways all week, but yesteday my legs and abs were very sore. Still sore today but thankfully not as bad. However, today was the lower body focus cardio thingy.... and so I'm sure my legs will be sore tomorrow as well! Every Saturday is rest day, YAY!!!!!! So I'm looking forward to that. Sundays are stretch day, so I'm assuming yoga. One of the workout ones already had downward dog and child's pose. So I'm pretty positive that it will be yoga or part yoga. I don't particularly find yoga enjoyable, but that's because it's hard! It would be nice to get to the point where I can do the poses with easy and flexibility! But, to do that I'd have to actually do yoga... LOL. So I think this will be a good start!

And sorry to anyone who I didn't reply to in their diaries today. I just need to get to bed! I'll try and keep up with everyone when I can!

Ok so I misunderstood Friday's schedule! I thought Lower Focus Cardio was one DVD. Nope! It's a double day so I did the Lower Focus yesterday but not the Cardio. Today was supposed to be my rest day but instead I had to do the Cardio to catch up. I may do my Sunday Stretch DVD today instead so that tomorrow can be my rest day before the start of week two.

Eating has been going well! Of course I make mistakes but I've mostly been staying under! And if I hav gone over, it's barely. Today I made a homemade soup: curried coconut carrot and zucchini soup! I used light coconut milk so it's not as fatty. Tasted so good and only 76 cals for cup.

Mmmm, that soup sounds lovely :) And that is crazy-low calories. Soup-er!

I really do feel for you, you must be exhausted.

I would love to be really flexible too... I went to a yoga session once, but I didn't feel like I fit in the group- Too yummy-mummy for me! The swiss ball can help to support you while you are working on some poses (Like the bridge).

Applause for finding creative workout times. I remember those baby days.
You win an imaginary medal.and since it is imaginary, of course it very nice and fancy...wear it with pride!

overtherainbow - Yeah I don't feel like I fit in either, but I think once I get more fit and comfortable that wouldn't be an issue. I'm not singing up for classes though, I can't afford it right now, so I'll do it at home after my Focus T25 is done.

brawny - LOL! That's the best medal ever!!! WOO! .... As for the kids things, yeah it's not easy. I can't wait until the baby is older and sleeping through the night, or only waking once!

sunflower - Weekend is going well thanks!!

So I did my stretch dvd today. It was nice! It was mostly regular stretching with a few yoga ones, downward dog, pidgeon, child's pose, some planks, etc. I think it will be a good base to get started with before doing actual yoga.

Weigh in day is tomorrow, so hope I've done enough. Almost every day, I've had one bad meal but it has been within my calories, so not as clean as it could have been, but at least I didn't go full out!

Thanks Guideon!

I lost 3.6 lbs this week!! I'm so happy it's as high as it is since last week it was even higher. I know it will level off soon, but I'm grateful to have these weight loss weeks when they happen!!

So today starts week 2 of Focus T25. I did the Cardio dvd first thing this morning and it was hard! I did it Saturday and it wasn't as bad. I hardly got any sleep last night though, so that's why.

I don't think the baby will start sleeping through the night on her own. My first one didn't and at 10 months I did sleep training. I was going back to work when she was 12 months, and I needed her to sleep so I could function at work! It's looking like I'll have to do the same this time too. I just really hate it because I hate hearing them cry and get so upet. I'm really dreading it. I was lucky with my first baby, it only took her one night and then she was sleeping through the night. She still cried a bunch when I put her down initially for a week or so. Naps took almost a week for her to go to bed awake and not cry for so long.

This baby, half the sleep training is done as I can put her down for naps awake and she goes to sleep on her own with little fussing, or only crying for a few minutes... 5 minutes at the most. But at night, if I try she just gets the most upset ever!! I don't know what the difference is between naps and bedtime for her. Mid September is when she will be 10 months, so I will do the same thing then for her as I did my first. I anticipate tears on both ends *sigh*

:( It must be so hard for you. My friends baby cries constantly when I put her down and I find it too hard to leave her to cry but my friend wants her to learn to self-soothe. You need some sleep too, though! Hope she starts to settle at night properly soon lovely xx

Aww i had to sleep train my elder 2 and the way this 1 is going i expect to have to train her as well. It's not nice but it is better for them and you to get proper sleep. I found both my elder ones happier and content after they started sleeping through. I still have to put them all to sleep myself thou. Training them to sleep without me is going to be a challenge!!

My first was a horrible napper and sleeper and sleep training was a miracle! It sucked going through it, but it didn't take long for her to learn to sleep. My baby now, she is a great napper, I can put her down awake, she sleeps for a great length of time.... it's just night time that's bad. I'm glad that at least naps go well, but I wish night time went well too. I hate sleep training and I don't want to hear her cry. I hope she learns fast like her sister did. I know it's better for them and for me when they are sleeping all night. She is actually a happy baby during the day anyways! But I do need the sleep and I know she does too. It still sucks going through it.

My toddler was fighting her naps and bedtime like crazy for the past few months. Since we moved her to the toddler bed she discovered she could get up millions of times. She is a master procrastinator, more books, more songs, pee, poop, kleenex, fix blankets, hugs, kisses (all will be asked for multiple times). So we finally got sick of it all and got super strict with her. Was a hard few days but it's great now. She no longer asks for more books, doesn't ask for more songs, doesn't ask for fixing blankets, or more hugs and kisses. When she goes to bed, she stays in bed, thank god! I was going NUTS dealing with her nap and bedtime tantrums! It's so much nicer now. But even when she was being horrible, once she stayed in bed, she slept all night. 50% of the time she may wake up once a night wanting a kiss and to go pee, but I can handle that! lol

Man, I keep stressing about training the baby... I should just not even think about it until it's time (September). But I can't help it.

Ok, so the fast two days have been a challenge. I've been so tired, yesterday especially. It was very hard to get through my workout and I didn't do it to my full potential. But with how tired I was I'm glad I did it period! Today's went much better, I was less tired, plus it was an easier DVD so I enjoyed it more too.

My calories have been low lately and I need to get my act together and eat more! I need more in the mornings, but that's the hardest time to fit it in. I'm going to go to the store to get Vega One, just to give me something quick but healthy that I can have as breakfast or a snack.

There is so much to worry/stress about with kids. It never ends. Good for you for still sticking to the exercise even after the tiring time. :hurray:

Thanks Angel!

Had a bad night. Baby didn't wake up as often, only 3 times, but one of those times I was up for an hour and half trying to get her to sleep. I think it took that long because part way through, my toddler woke up and had a huge tantrum! I hate the tantrums in the middle of the night because my sister's family is upstairs and it always wakes someone! Then later my toddler had a bad dream and she was having a fit at 5:45 am. I got her calmed down and back to bed, then the baby woke, got her back to bed. I went back to bed and my toddler was up at 6:40.... sigh. I was so tired this morning and grumpy! I was not happy with my toddler and after I made her breakfast she was like, "mommy you happy!" I told her no I wasn't happy I was angry because she was a bad girl for screaming at night, and she was like, "mommy you happy!"..... haha, silly.

I got my exercise done just before lunch and I feel better now. It was the cardio one again. I'm liking it more and more now that I'm slightly getting better at it. Just slightly.... haha.

Well done on the loss :) :) :)

I know how you feel about sleep training, I did it with my son... I didn't really want to, but I was young when I had him, so I listened to the advice of my bf's mum... It did eventually work, but it took months, and I made the decision not to do it with my daughter. I went the other way with her and co-slept (I know that is frowned upon!) put my mattress on the floor so she wouldn't fall off, and used a blanket. But I wasn't planning on going back to work, I would have had to have done it if I was. Are you going back to the same job you had?

Soon all this stress will be a distant memory! x
