I'm so glad that this week my weight loss was decent! WOO! I had one mishap (the pizza) but I did cardio everyday on my bike for an hour! I think I really need cardio and I'll add strength to it (instead of having it the other way around). I LOVE my bike!

Weight loss this week 2.2 lbs.
 
*tackles* Ristyyy! I've missed you :D 2.2lb is awesomeeee, dude! So pleased to see you doing so well. And I've had SO much pizza recently. BUT, I found weight watchers pizzas which are yummy and not as bad for you :D

Don't feel bad about the pizza! I recently read that pizza is one of the healthiest fast food you can get. Really though it's just bread with some tomato sauce, meat, cheese and veggies. Of course if you start talking about pepperoni lovers pizza with extra cheese and more pepperoni - that kinda make what I read go out the window :)

But the fact is, if you are going to eat a 'fast' food - pizza is the healthiest because you can CHOOSE to make it that way - ask them to use less cheese and load it with veggies. Way better for you than a big mac!

Don't give up the foods you love - Just make made them better! That's what I did and it doesn't feel like a diet all.

I eat pizza at home ALL the time (well...not everyday or anything :) as part of my diet - I just use whole wheat crust and go easy on the cheese (and I use a low fat cheese) and add tasty veg and chicken (or another 'healthier' meat).

I'm coming to the same conclusion :)
When I used to run marathons, I was a skinny thing. And that explains why after six weeks of lifting weights I had not lost one single pound, I need cardio and lots of it

2skinny - I'm glad I'm not the only one that needs a lot of cardio. And I hate cardio >< Ah well, at least I know what I need!

Obscure - Yeah I agree with you completely. I'm not going to cut things from my diet like pizza, I just wish I would have had more self control. I agree that depending on how you get it, it is a much healthier option than most. I love homemade pizza and it's so much better for you too!

I don't have much to report lately. I've been busy getting trained on some other units in the hospital (THANK GOODNESS... I needed the work). My hubby and I have been doing a cleanse... it's a 2 week thing and we're doing the hardest part right now and he's SOOO grumpy. I don't blame him, it sucks. He says he'll never do it again, lol. For me, I do it once every few years because it does suck! But then over the years I get over it and do it again, lol.

:bigear: I love doing cleanses several times a year. Feels so good to do a quick detox. Which one are you doing? Anything specific or just natural foods?

I am sort of doing a cleanse too right now. Eating 90% raw foods and juicing them up so my body can divert digestive function to cleaning up the house baby!!

Your poor hubby, I know it can cause the grumps at times. lol

Way to go! I bet you feel so much better after the cleanse, as there are so many toxins stored in fat cells that you will be flushing out.
 
The one I'm doing is through this one natural company. It's a 2 week thing and this is what you do. For the first 7 days you take supplements in the morning and night (so 2x a day). You eat as per normal but the supplements help bring the toxins down to the colon.

Then the next 4 days you go on a clear fluid diet (unsweetened juices, water, herbal tea (we've been also having chicken broth)). During this 4 day clear fluid thing, 3-4x a day you mix a pouch that has clay in it into juice or water. It expands with the liquid so that it helps you feel less hungry. The clay detoxes you by absorbing all the toxins in your digestive tract (along it's way out, and then you eliminate it...WOO!) During these 4 days you also take supplements in the morning and afternoon.

The last 3 days are just supplements in the morning and afternoon and you just slowly resume your eating.

So that's the cleanse that we're doing and usually the first time you do it, is the worst cause you have just so much build up on the body of all the crap you put into it. So he's having a hard time with it, plus he gets grumpy when he wants food! This is our third day of the 4 day no eating part. So we're almost there!
 
I'll be interested to seehow the detox works out. Can you PM me the name of it. Might try it over Easter as have 2 wks off work so it's a good time.
 
Sounds cool! I have not taken clay before, but I've read about it. Day 3 of no solid food is always the hardest!

lol reminds me of a male co-worker who told me he and his wife went on Atkins together and how one day he opened the fridge and angrily shouted "there's nothing to eat in this house" and slammed it shut. He was laughing later but was so surprised at how angry he got.

I've never heard of clay in the toxic cleanse ... cool :)

I know one thing. I don't think I could do it. Taking a laxative for a colonoscopy was bad enough. :leaving:
 
Hey guys! Sorry I've been away, have been really busy. I won't be able to catch up on everyone's diaries until the weekend because we are just in the middle of moving. So it's been crazy!

The cleanse went really well. I've lost 2 lbs, but we'll see if it'll stick for next week! I didn't do it to lose weight though! Only problem is we are moving into my grandparent house and food-wise that will not be good! They are Italian so you can just imagine. We will try and cook our own food but there will be tempting things there and so I'll just have to be very careful!

Hope to catch up with you guys this weekend, wish me luck, we want to be moved out by tomorrow! Then comes the cleaning and unpacking... *sigh*... lol.
 
I bet he was super grumpy hahaha. I dont know how u got him to do it and stick with it lol. His saying, vaseline and baby wipes, comes to mind. LOL

The first time I did a cleanse I must have had so much garbage and toxins in my body. It did warn that you could feel flu like symptoms etc etc. But man-o-man let me tell u. A few days into the cleanse I had such a bad fever and I had the chills and just felt really really strange like nothing ive ever felt before. I got so scared I ended up aborting the cleanse 3 quarters of the way thru. But after I did feel great and wished I hadnt quit it early. I did the cleanse again 6 months later and it went way better. Lemme know how the cleanse went and send me the name of it. Maybe I will try that one next time. Sounds like a more effective one than I have done.
 
Haha, good luck with the move Risty and with resisting all the nice food in that house! (I feel you on that one, my partner eats what he likes, which is chocolate almost daily, massive portions, fatty food etc!!)

The cleanse thing sounds awful to me... I enjoy eating farrrr to much to give up solids for four days unless it's a medical necessity. :D Good for you having the willpower lol! x
 
Good luck on being around the Italians Risty. LOL Yeah, their cooking is a little too yummy. Ah well, you gotta enjoy life also. You know how to get right back into the game.

I hear you on being busy lately. It's a full moon on Monday so maybe after that it will smarten up!! lol
