Risty's Diary (Christina)

Well I suppose if you have to feel nauseated it may as well be as a result of than a tasty celebration meal!! :) Sounds pretty nice...

I love how in the US they box up your leftovers for you to take home, we always get it when we are there on holiday but here places don't do that - which is actually not helpful when trying to eat healthily, because you pay for a meal, get a massive portion, and immediately try to eat it all so that you don't waste it or waste your money. Pfft.

Hope you had a happy birthday :) x

Happy Birthday! Bummer you're not feeling well but sounds like you're recovering slowly. I found this forum less than a month ago and it's been a tremendous help so far. Takes a lot of courage to try again. Just wanted to say Good Luck and Welcome Back!

Thanks a lot! Yeah it was hard to come back just because I failed so miserably, but I finally realized I really needed it and I had to just do it.

I live in Canada not the U.S. but yeah I've never heard of places not packaging it up! Have you ever tried to ask if they could do that? Because I could see what you mean by not wanting to waste anything, I'd totally eat everything just for that reason! Which isn't good, but then it's a waste of money to leave half behind! I really wonder if you asked, they may look at you funny, but they may do it in the end. If not, would you be able to bring a container with you and just put it in that? I mean you've paid for your meal, I don't see why they wouldn't let you do that. I say if anyone gave you a hard time you would just have to say you have a medical condition and you aren't able to eat more than that. I can't see them saying, well leave it there you're not allowed to take it home! UNLESS, you're at a buffet, you're definitely not allowed to do that there!

Oh, on a side note, my game finally came in yesterday! It's called Just Dance for the Wii. You don't need the Wii Fit or any dance mats or anything for it. You just hold the controller in your hand and try and copy the dance moves that the person on the screen is doing. You can have 4 people do it at the same time! It has 30 something songs on there too. It's so fun! Good thing is you can do half the song, or the full song, so it's good if you're getting tired. But it's SOOO fun and it gets you moving for sure!

So my little sis came over last night and we played for a while, until I started feeling a bit crappy (still not completely 100% better yet) but it was good to at least do some movement!

I really wish I didn't have my birthday, I don't want to be 26! lol...

Thanks for the b-day wishes :)

Ha, it's just not done here. :) It's down to stupid health and safety ideas - basically, the thinking is that if you take the food home, leave it too long or dont reheat it properly, then get food poisoning, you can sue the place you got it. One time my Mum asked at a carvery if she could have the offcuts of meat to take home for her dog and they wouldn't even let her do that. You could take a container and try to do it when they weren't looking I guess :p x

That's just weird. I mean I can see about the whole suing thing, but in the united states (not so much in Canada) but the U.S. is sue happy and they still give you leftovers. People should just be educated in food safety and take responsibility. I mean if you have leftovers from a restaurant for 2 weeks, anyone would know not to eat it! But, you can't change the way your country does things, that's for sure. I would sneak it home, yup, that's the way to go! That or just leave it.

I'm English and we don't get to take anything home in restaurants here. My partner is American and when he comes over he's always very confused and tries to ask if he can take stuff home!

(On a side note, he's 26 and worries about reaching 30 as well! You're not alone :p)

Hope you had a wonderful day :D

Happy Birthday! And don't worry about 26 as I'm turning 36 this year! It's just a number. It's all about how old you feel not how old you really are.

As for the Just Dance game for the Wii, I haven't seen that one yet. I have Dance Dance Revolution for the Play Station and XBox and absolutely love them. So I may need to add that one to my Wii arsenal.

I know it probably sounds dumb to worry about being 26 but I'm not as far along as I'd like to be. Not only weight wise but I don't have my own home yet, which intern I don't have a baby yet. Don't have room where I live now to have a baby. Don't want to have a baby being overweight on top of that! Haven't started my RRSP's yet (which I wanted to do that when I was 18!) ... although on that note I did make a bank appointment for next week for that. It's just, time is going by, and I can't keep up with it. I don't know what to do to improve my situation so I can reach my goals.

Veronica - If you live in the states it's definitely out there. Actually it was all sold out here so I had to buy it off Amazon.com. Even Amazon.ca was sold out! So because it was international I had to pay extra for it, but it was worth it. I LOVE DDR but I can't play it because my plasma doesn't refresh fast enough and it's like a half second off, but even that short time makes you go from being awesome to getting a lot of boo's and good's... which depresses me... lol. So my husband put the tv on game mode because it'll help it go faster and I'll see if that works. Otherwise I'll try to buy it on the XBox because it's a new system and so it doesn't have that problem... whereas the PS2 is an older system and the PS3 doesn't have it's own games out yet for DDR... so yeah...

Sunflower - I'm glad I'm not the only one! Tell your bf I feel his pain, lol. And thanks, I hope you have a great day too!

Have a good day Risty x

Okay. I'm right on track with you here. I didn't own my first home until I was 30, consequently the age which I married. Now it's 6 years later and I know my biological clock is ticking but I don't want to have a baby until I lose the weight. So I either have to lose this weight or never have children, it is as simple as that.

It's good to see you are putting plans in motion to move toward your goals but don't stress about not being as far along as you wanted. Trust me, you will never be as far as you planned or wanted. Go with the flow and make sure you do something each and every day to attain your goals and you'll get there.

Hello beautiful (((Risty))) remember me? I am so glad that you and Mishi came back to this site right when I did ... so cool. Now we need Lukewarm back, where the heck did she go? I've still to look for Wishes, Mal, LadyBug, Blancita and I miss Cym.

Pft! We all go up and down on our weight. It takes a few times ... look at me, 47 and still got 25 to lose. LMAO. Um, maybe by the time I'm 50?? ha ha

Love you sistah! Oh and happy late birthday. :)

2Skinny - Hey, of course I remember you! I definitely want Lukewarm back too! I wish I came back sooner when I wasn't this far into my weight gain. I have to almost all over again which is depressing, but it's better than starting from the very beginning! So at least I can be thankful about that.

I haven't started anything yet. I just got over the flu and am now feeling back to normal. I did a 12 hour shift today and have another 12 hour on sat and sun. So my time over the weekend isn't very much. However, I have a plan to start on monday doing P90X and soon running since the weather seems to be on my side. I also joined the biggest loser challenge that starts on tuesday.

Thanks for remembering about me though! Made me smile :D

Veronica - I know what you mean about the biological clock ticking. I feel it! Even though I'm a bit younger, I still feel it, lol. I know I can't do anything about how I'm not where I want to be yet. Thanks for the advice about doing something everyday to get closer to my goals. We can do that together! Because my main goal is to get healthier to get pregnant too. So we can both take it step by step to reach our same goals!

I'm a nursing unit assistant. If you've ever had to stay in the hospital you'll know each ward has a desk with someone sitting behind it... that someone is me, lol. Answering the phones, processing doctor's orders, faxing stuff to pharmacy, etc etc. However, I do that job in the operating room and it's completely different. In the O.R. the phones are really busy, you have to know what's going on in each room at all times, you book the emergency cases... basically you keep everything organized and keep communication flowing there. Basically, people come to me for answers, which I don't always have them! lol Like for example, a surgeon will call and ask what time his surgery will be... well.. I can tell him how far down on the list he is, I can tell him what surgeries are ahead of him, but I can't tell him a time because I have no idea how long each surgery takes... I get a lot of those phone calls!

I'm very tired today though. I haven't slept much in the past few days and then doing two 12 hour shifts and another tomorrow... man! I need to make my lunch for tomorrow and get to bed. At least Monday I work in the afternoon, so I'll definitely get my P90X started.

I'll tell you now how P90X will go, it's called torture and pain... LOL.

I'm going to weight in tomorrow morning because I start my P90X tomorrow. Then I'll weight in on Tues for the biggest loser challenge just in case it changes, lol. Then for sure I'm weighing in every Tuesday.

I so don't want to start P90X tomorrow! OMG! But, it's got to be done, lol.

Good Luck with P90X! Let us know how it goes.

Btw, I signed up for the biggest loser challenge after all. :)
