Risty's Diary (Christina)

Yay! Another biggest loser member!

I was planning on starting P90X this morning before my bank meeting, however, I slept in, so I have to do it after the bank meeting but before work. If I don't do it before work, there's no way I'm doing it after work because I'll get home between 10:45-11:00 pm and that's way too late!

So I did the first day of P90X which is chest and back, and ab ripper x. It's really hard! But I know tomorrow is plyometrics and that's even harder. I feel kinda bad because I can't do regular push ups and I can't do the chin ups, so I feel like I'm half assing the work out by doing knee push ups, and using the resistance bands to do mock chin up type exercises to build up to them.

I know I'm doing what I can, but I still feel like I'm not getting as good of a workout as I could be, if I could do it proper.

However, I can't wait until I can do it all! It'll be a great achievement. Well, 1 day down, 89 to go!

Oh yah pylometrics, did those for the first time in Boot Camp last spring. That has got to be the hardest but the most effective way to get into shape. Good for you for doing the program. I felt the same way as you today after my workout. But while sitting in the dry sauna afterwards, I said to self, um, be PROUD you did your workout. And especially you, Risty, before work?? That's fantastic.

Push-ups and chin ups are super hard and only the fittest of the fittest can do those. It's something to aim for, if you want. But I saw a girl do them in the gym today and after she got down from the bar, her trainer high fived her and then they hugged. I could tell it was a moment of achievement for her and that she'd been working up to it.

Congratulations! Starting is the toughest part! Pretty soon you'll be on a roll. Knock out the modified push-ups etc with pride. It's just the first step on the journey to doing it all!

Well done on starting... it's all easier from here on in :) you'll be pleased each day when you've done it!!

Plus think of what you'll see in the mirror and on the scales. :D xx

Thanks everyone for the encouragement!

Well today didn't go as planned. I got called in for work from 8:30-12:30 (only four hours). However last night I worked until 10:45 so of course I got to bed late and I'm really tired now. The other unplanned part was being called in for the 4:15-10:45 shift tonight! So I did my dvd between shifts! It sucked and it was hard but at least I got it done. I knew if I didn't do it then, I wouldn't do it at 11pm!

So today was plyometrics! It was really hard, it's all jumping stuff, jump squats, jump lunges, jump spin things! I really suck at it and I definitely couldn't do it all. However, I did the full hour as best as I could. I already feel it in my legs.

My arms and upper back are sore from yesterdays workout! I kind of tweeked my shoulder though trying to do this one hard type of push up that I knew I shouldn't have tried. So hopefully it feels better soon... especially since tomorrow is shoulders and arms! Oh, plus ab ripper x is tomorrow too, and my abs are getting more sore as the day goes on, so tomorrow is going to be a world of hurt!

Sheesh do you get any days off on this exercise program? Ohhh, I'm hurting FOR you! I am so impressed you did the workout in between split shifts.

Your job sounds very responsible. Hope your shift goes well tonight and that you have a good sleep tonight.

Well, the 7th day of the week is a rest day, but it's your choice if you want it to be a rest day or do the x stretch dvd. I think I'll do the x stretch though because stretching is good for you!

HEYYYYYYYYYY. I have joined some people over on anotherdietforum.com/forums You should come and join!!! Miss you!

OMG!!!! IT'S YOU! I missed you! I'm not going to leave this site, but it couldn't hurt to use both! Double the support WOO!

Today, I did my P90X - Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper X. My abs were still sore from Monday's so it was hard to do it today. I just just as much as I could. Same with the shoulders and arms, it was awesome, but challenging for sure.

I feel I still need to add cardio. So I'm going to have to work on that. I think I'll use my sister's elliptical, play DDR (if it works with my tv), and play Just Dance (for the Wii).

Well today didn't go as planned. My mom got called into her other job, so I had to come and watch her daycare. So I haven't done my DVD for the day yet. I will have to do that when I get home and before I eat dinner. I would have rather had it done by now, but what can you do!

The past couple days my calories have been good... have been getting around 1500, some days slightly under, yesterday slightly more. So that's good.

My calories for today are a tad low, but I will make sure to get a snack in. I had cereal with skim milk for breakfast, homemade vegetable soup and crackers for lunch. I have no idea what I'm going to make for supper!

I feel kind of lonely on here. When I used to come on, there was a huge group of us that would talk in each other's diaries and it was awesome. It really helped me a lot. Now that most of them are gone, there's only a couple people that come in to check on me (Tutti, you're one of the most consistent, thank you!) However, it makes me sad because I remember how much support there was before, and now it's not like that. Hopefully as I keep writing, others will get interested!

I always read, even if I have nothing good to contribute that day. I'm very proud of you for doing so well and I read every day and hope you're doing well. I only joined a little while ago, I know, so it's not the same, but I check up on you every time you post :)

Which DVD are you doing? I brought 3 dance ones but my room is diddy so I can't use them as well as I'd like :(

I, too, read your diary every day but some days don't have as much to say as I would like to. I guess it just feels too mundane for me to say 'keep up the good work' or 'congrats on the weight loss' all the time. I prefer to write when I have something very specific to say to the person so if you don't hear from me or awhile, it's not that I'm not reading.

So, should I end with 'Keep up the good work' or Congrats on the weight loss'? I'm at a stalemate.

Hey guys, yeah I know what you mean. I feel the same way too sometimes.

I'm doing the P90X DVD's. It's an exercise program that has 12 different dvd's and it has a 90 plan where it tells you what dvd's to do on what days. I'm so sore from it so I know it's working.

If you have a Wii the Just Dance game doesn't take up much room at all and you don't need a dance mat. You just hold the controller in your hand and just copy the dance that the person is doing on the screen. You have to do it at the right timing and it gives you points. It's so fun though, especially with a group of people. 4 people can play at one time as long as you have 4 controllers.

I love DDR because it's more challenging but it takes time to get practiced at it. However once you get the hang of it, it's great cardio if you're doing the hard songs. For DDR you can buy it for the PS2 if you can still find it, the XBox 360 and the Wii but you do need a dance mat for it, though the dance mat doesn't take up too much room, I store mine under my couch.

So today didn't go as planned. I had to babysit for my mom's daycare. So I didn't get to exercise before or after lunch. I had to wait until I got home which was around 6 and there was dinner to cook! So I started doing my DVD and today was Yoga. The yoga dvd is an hour and 30 mins! Well, when there's dinner to cook (and I'm not only cooking for myself and my hubby, I'm also cooking for my sister and her hubby (we alternate cooking nights)) then I can't make dinner too late. My hubby started doing dinner but he had the biggest migraine.

So anyways, I'm trying to do my yoga, my injured shoulder was just killing me with all the planks and downward dogs and things like that, plus my knees don't like the triangle and those types so I was so on edge that I was not enjoying it one bit. Needless to say I only did 30 mins of it.

However my youngest sister came by tonight after dinner and we played DDR for at least an hour, maybe an hour and a half! I'm so tired now! It was so exhausting (she loves to do all the fast songs).

So I'm proud of my exercise tonight. Didn't get through yoga, but next time I'll make sure to do it at a better time.

I know how u feel! I had so many visitors too.. that will happen again..see? u got another visitor.. :ack2: :reddevil:

Hey Risty,

Nice one on the exercise :) keep it up.

Sorry to see you don't feel you're getting much support on here these days... but personally I'd rather just keep up with a few people on here and really be able to remember who they are and what they're up to, rather than trying to post in everyone's diary and it being worthless comments. Since I started at the new place this week I am finding it hard to get much time to myself in the evenings, hence why I haven't stopped by in a few days, but I'll be trying to catch up every two-three days at least. :)

When are you due a weigh-in, are you doing the Valentine's Day challenge? Either way, may the scales bring you good news. :D x
