Risty's Diary (Christina)

Ohhh...Before & During Pictures! Fun :D

And I hear ya about pizza - if I could just stop with two pieces and be done, it's fine - but then there's all those left overs

Howdy Risty,
Great job on stopping at 2 pieces of pizza I used to eat
4-5 slices and I had 2 pieces tonight to get it out of my systen it was a new'
chciken pizza go figure I have a weakness for chciken period!Your doing great! Have a nice day Tammy

So, my sister wants to make a weight loss poster for me. I don't know if it'll get to poster form, but she has some 'good' before pics and she wants to take a pic next weekend for my inbetween pics. So, if that happens and if I can get the pics on the computer then I'll post them.

i hate seeing before pictures ...of myself i mean- argh *shudder* i dnt think ill mind when im 140lbs though :D lol. cant wait to see the pics.

Hi Risty

The Before pictures are such a great idea! Yes they are NO fun to look at, but nothing motivates me more than seeing what I look like in everyone else's eyes. I had my mom take some pics for me in my workout clothes. GREAT job by the way at stopping at only 2 pieces of pizza! I loovvee pizza, it's difficult to chill out and be reasonable with it

I love it that you and your bf are doing such healthy activities together! I mean really, it would be so amazing to have someone to swim with, or walk with. NOBODY ever wants to do anything except drink, watch movies, go out to eat, grr it's stressful. I'm happy you and your bf are so fun ;) Well I hope you have a good day!

Hi Risty,

I think the 'before' and 'after' pictures are also a great idea - there's nothing like a good photo to motivate you to be the best you can be. When I read about the pizza, I was like 'Whoa, she's brave!', but then that's just how it should be - occasional dabbling, instead of constantly eating junk food. Plus you hopefully won't have cravings for a while. I also agree with lukewarm that it's great you have someone to exercise with and motivate each other. Only my best friend is willing to work out with me, but he's already fit, plus he's in a different continent  He's thrilled I've decided to get into shape so I can challenge him, which should be fun.

Keep on with your workout though, and cheers to M2M - I appreciate your comments on my diary.

Wow Christina your gettin popular...

The pizza I use to eat liek 4 pieces easy now i cna usually only eat one but sometimes push it for two and get sick - lol...Im so bad with bacon...

One of the other girls on here - felici said that she goes to the pool and runs in the water and uses it as a resistance I thoguth that was a cool idea !!!

Hi Risty

Hope you had a good day! Can't wait to see your next post! :) Your athletic excursions are so inspiring.

Hey everyone, thanks so much for the support and comments!

I do agree with everyone about the before pictures. Yes they are HORRIBLE to look at, but even though I know I'm thinner and I look thinner, I still feel like it's not good enough. Seeing the before and inbetween pic side by side will just really help me see how far I've really come. And plus, when I get to my goal weight I want to be able to show people how I used to be and hopefully be an inspiration for them. I have one friend who is really overweight, she did want to lose weight and she got a 4 month gym pass at my gym and I was so excited for her! However, it didn't turn out so well, she didn't go often and then she stopped going at all. I hope that my before and after pics will help inspire her, and if they do and she wants to lose weight, then I will help her in any way I can.

Cerella, that one thing you said Felici does really does sound like a good idea. Water has a ton of resistance and if she's adding more, then it's sure gotta do something! I know there's aerobic water classes and things which would be kewl to try, but there's other things that I wanted to do more.

Speaking of other things I wanted to do, I finally made up my mind and I got my membership for cardio kickboxing! It's expensive, but it's gonna be way worth it. I did it with my one sister years and years ago for a couple months and it was fun and an awesome workout! We had to stop cause my dad complained every time we went saying how much of a waste of money it was, and a waste of gas and how we should just exercise at home. So eventually we just said fine, screw it. I brought up to my fam how I wanted to join again, and again came the 'why don't you exercise at home' comment... but this time I live on my own and can spend my money my way! SO THERE!

So, Wednesday is my intro class just to get familiar with the diff punches and kicks, so that when I get in class I won't be completely lost! There's also gonna be a couple other new people too, so I'm excited I'm not the only one. I'm so looking forward to Wednesday!

Today, was almost a give up on exercise day... my alarm didn't go off this morning so I didn't get to go to the gym before work. And normally when I don't go by my plans I end up not doing it at all. However, I had to really think about things and I finally thought... I want to do well in the April challenge, I want to reach my weight goals, etc etc, and so I went on a half hour walk on my lunch break, then when I got home I went to the gym and cycled for half an hour and did my weights, abs, and then stretches. As much as I wanted to skip it, I felt awesome afterwards for doing it!

Hi Risty,
I wanted to post the link here too - the challenge is open to everyone and we're walking around the world :) If you don't have a pedometer, you can go to MapMyRun.com -- Mapping your running routes has never been easier! fill in your route and get your distance :)

And GOOD for you for getting that work out in today! I can absolutely relate to the need to talk yourself into it. I kept waking up all last night feeling the soreness in my legs and butt from Saturday's work out - by this morning, I SO did not want to exercise - but what you did was PERFECT - you put your goals back up in front of you where they belong!

That's Excellent!

I found your journal :) Wtg on your weight loss! you have came a long way babes! I can't wait to be in the 160's ..my mini goal..Well, you have a great night, I will read up on your journal tomorrow. Its after 12am:eek: Time for bed lol.

Well, I'm completely exhausted today. For one, I went to bed too late, and secondly I didn't eat enough cals today. I really need to plan ahead and put in my calories the day before. When I put my cal's after supper and realize, holy crap they're too low... it's kinda late to do something about it at that point. So, tonight I need to make sure to add my cal's for tom to make sure I have enough!

So I'm excited for tomorrow! I have my intro class to my cardio kickboxing! The actual cardio kickboxing class starts at 5:30 and that's when my intro starts, so I don't know how long the intro will take or if I'll be able to do any of the class afterwards. If I don't get to do some of the actual class, I'll be able to go on Friday! I should make sure it's open being that it's easter this weekend, so who knows what's open. All I know is I don't work fri or next mon, woo!

I'm still amazed at how tired I am. I'm so proud of myself for getting my hour of cardio done despite that. Now, I didn't do the highest intensity I could, but with my energy levels I was lucky to get any done :p Hopefully tomorrow I have better energy, I know I'll need it for my kickboxing!

i just noticed on your ticker that you are over halfway to your goal! woohoo!

and yes, before pictures suck, but i really wish i had more of them now! i would love to look back at some. i tried to find some for my before and afters here, but apparently i didn't take many pictures before... wonder why that was?!

haha.

Planning ahead is a great idea! I just barely started doing this not too long ago. Usually by the end of the day, around 9 pm i found i had eaten only 700-800 calories, where i should have been eating around 1400..:)

Well, good morning to you, and i hope you have a GREAT day.

Good Morning Risty,
Hope you got some rest - it's hard doing all you do on little sleep! Have fun kick boxing today!

Hi Risty

Thanks for such great responses in my diary, I really appreciate it. :)

I'm proud of you too, I can't wait to hear about the kickboxing. It sounds like so much fun. I've heard it's one of the best cardio workouts too ;) I can't wait to see your arms! and your abs...and your legs. You always have to be poised and bouncing around right? Recipe for a sexy body. :D

OMG I am SOOO excited! First of all I had my cardio kickboxing training today. So me and this one other girl went over the diff punches and kicks. I forgot how hard it was for me to remember to turn my foot for the punches and kicks. We were done before the actual cardio kickboxing class was done, so we joined the end of class. Man, just doing the end of class my legs were like NO! Enough! (this one thing we did was have to keep our leg in the air and do the round kicks and then do a low and a high over and over and then do all high ones and I swears your leg gets lower and lower because it just doesn't wanna stay up. And that's not even doing all the other stuff prior to it! Yup... I definately remember that from when I first did it quite a few years back.

Anyways, the reason why I'm so excited is because the girl I was training with asked me if I joined the UBC (ultimate bodyshaping course). Which the answer was no cause I didn't know what it was. So the teacher explained it to me and basically it's a combination of the cardio kickboxing (mon, weds and fri) with resistance training (tues, thurs, and sat). You cannot miss a class because they monitor how many reps you do, at what band colour (they use resistance bands for the training) and also how hard you pushed yourself. Then you increase it when you can. One day is lower body, one day is upper body.. and I don't remember what the 3rd day is. But the only day you get to rest is sunday. You get a booklette along with it that has foods you can/shouldn't eat, you write down what you eat and it has a guideline of what you're supposed to eat... plus it has recipes. Also, you get measured and have a test to see what your fitness is prior, in the middle and at the end. This is a 10 week program.

So I joined it, and I'm sooooo excited! I know I'm gonna be hurting the first few weeks, cause 6 days in a row of hard work (which I haven't been pushing myself like I should, and this will definately push me). Since I already paid for 6 months of just the cardio kickboxing, that will start after my 10 week program. I think that this will be just PERFECT for the summer challenge! I can't wait to see the results!

Oh Risty,
This sounds INTENSE!!
OK - you HAVE to take some pictures for the the B&A section :)

 Risty that sounds amazing. I'm so excited for you! ULTIMATE BODYSHAPING COURSE. You mean business! Girl you are gonna be so sexy, I second mandatory before pics...
