Hallo Risty, thanks for posting in my diary! I love DDR, its my cardio, lol! I feel the fool jumping about in my house, scaring my cats, but its a really great workout, I like the workout mode, it gives me the numbers I need to keep going!

RJAZ - it is hard for me to go up to someone in the gym. They seem so focused and everything, I just wouldn't want to bother them and disturb their workout. However everyone's post here has helped me a lot :) And by the way, DDR is fun even if you're fat! lol

Thanks for your book Cerella! I love to see long posts, then I don't feel like I'm the only one that does that! LOL. But yeah I love both of Billy Talent's albums! On the newest one, the song I mentioned (Pins and Needles), plus Fallen Leaves, This Suffering, and Surrender are my fav's! I love the songs that have 'pretty' singing parts in them! lol. That's why I love My Chemical Romance, they're different, and they have awesome songs (with some pretty parts, as I call it, lol). And I do think you're right about the one song being from the Foo Fighters! If not, then we're both wrong, lol.

But yeah, I agree with you, I also had to realize that I was doing it by myself and I was the only person who was gonna change things. So as much as I wanted someone to go, I realized I shouldn't stop myself from going just cause no one else was going with me. OH, and I'm happy for you that you met someone on here that you can meet up and walk with, that's awesome!

Thanks for stopping by my diary as well Sabatieni! As soon as I'm getting off this site, I'm gonna do DDR for my exercise today. I just want a break from the gym, and at least this is fun! Although, tomorrow, it's back to the gym!

But yeah, I'm really considering joining into cardio kickboxing again. I went to check it out last night and they had moved from the last time I had went, and now it's so huge and there's so many people in the class! Thing that scares me is that you have to partner up with someone and share a bag, which is why I wanted my sis there, cause I'm nervous about partnering up with a random person! I don't want to be too slow for them and whatnot and ruin their workout. But I watched the end of the class, and there were quite a few bigger people, so at least I'm not alone in that department. So I think I'll do it just because it's an awesome workout and it'll be something different that what I'm doing now.

PS - I haven't tried tao bo yet, always curious about it though.
 
ARG! I hate food :p I'm so confused on how much to eat. I have been eating healthier foods, whole grains, fruits, veggies, lean protein, good fats, low fat dairy, etc. I also eat 5 meals a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner plus snacks between). Thing is, some days I don't get nearly enough cals. Thing I find hard is that veggies and fruit have so little cal's that I can't seem to keep up. I mean, what I eat doesn't leave me hungry. And if I had more I'd feel like I'm stuffing my face. I just really don't know what to do. I don't even really know how many cal's I SHOULD be eating to begin with. I know people talk about being in a deficit and whatnot, but I don't know what that would be for me. All I know is some days, I just don't eat enough period. Like today for example! I thought I did awesome, and I look at my cals and I'm thinking... a kid would need more :p This whole calorie/food thing makes my brain want to explode :p
 
mostly its trial and error, i have been lucky getting by with what fitday reccomends, it constantly recalculates based on your weight, i been getting liek a 1000 cal defecit (but my maintenance is much higher) fitday is like auto pilot. i love it :)
 
if you have the pc version you can enter in a weight goal, and based on your stats it will calculate your deficit, (of course this goal should be realistic, like say 2 lbs a week
 
Yeah I just use the normal free online one. The PC one you have to purchase right?

I've been looking around the internet and I think I need to be eating around 1500 or 1600 cals a day or something along those lines. If that's the case I'm usually short on my cal intake... however today I did eat 1500 something cals.
 
I'm so excited, I bought two new tank tops! I haven't been shopping in a while (hated shopping while I was heavier). I mean I still have a ways to go, but it's much nicer to shop now than it was before. One tank I got was medium and the other was small, the small kinda fits but really really tight, so that's my inspiration to keep going! It's a really cute top!

So for my exercise I'll go for a walk with my bf... he said he'll go on a walk with me... let's see if he will stick to that ;) I'm sure he will, we went on a walk last saturday and it was really nice. Tomorrow we plan to go swimming at the rec centre, I can't wait for that. As much as I HATE being in a bathing suit, I'm just gonna get in the water ASAP and then I'll be ok, lol.

Well after reading your entries, I'm more sure than ever that registering here is the best thing. I'm really motivated to go exercise right now. I'm confused about the calorie intake and deficit concept as well. I don't understand why I can't eat 1000 calories a day, rather than say 2000. People mention starvation mode a lot I notice, but surely cutting back and exercising is a surefire way to drop the pounds? That is what it sounds like you are doing and obviously you are making great progress! Well while I feel motivated, I'm going to go hop on the treadmill. Thanks Risty :) looking forward to more posts.
 
I just wanted to say hi and thanx for your support - it is trial and error as mentioned before adn you totally gotta figure out what works for you - when I was havin probs with gettin enough cals - I ate higher cal things - to fit them all in...you figure it out as you go...Hope all has been well with you...
 
Thanks a lot you guys! Well, I definately filled up my cal's today! Had some pizza :eek: LOL... but ya know, you do have to treat yourself every once in a while, and I've been eating so good for weeks, I just needed a treat, and I loves pizza! Unfortunately, there's leftovers! lol

Anyways, I did go on a walk with my bf today, we walked around for an hour, possibly long. there's a field near our place and we jogged across it to the other side... that's as far as my jogging went, but we kept on walking. But man, my jogging/running is so horribly out of shape, lol. I'll see if I want to work on that, I dunno though, running isn't all that important to me right now. Maybe later when I get more fit, then I'll start it up.

Hi Lukewarm, I'm so glad my posts have helped you! I love the feeling of receiving help and support from this site, but the feeling of actually helping someone is so much better! The calorie thing is confusing, but it's true you don't want to undereat. The whole starvation mode thing is when you're body thinks it's starving and so it'll store the fat and protect it, and burn the cals from things like muscle instead. The last thing you want to do is lose muscle, the more muscle you have the more you cals you burn period! Which is why I strength train and make sure i get protein in every meal. I want to be lean and toned, and besides, just having more muscle I'll burn more cal's just sitting here on my butt typing this ;)

It's true cutting back and exercising is an awesome way of losing weight, just make sure you don't cut back too much. Not only for the whole starvation mode thing, but the body needs calories in general just to function, so I'm trying to aim around 1500 cals or so. I'm hoping that's enough, lol.

Yeah I know how it is to be stuck at around one weight and it really sucks, but eventually you'll break through to the 170's and stay there! And then leave there as well! I've been slightly slacking on my exercise so I'm still at 167, however my bf and I will go swimming today and we're walking to the place (it's only like a 5-10 min walk, but hey, better than driving!) I go to the gym on weekdays (although thurs and fri I took a break from it) but that break is over :p

It's hard when eating out for sure, hard to count the cal's depending what you get, hard to not eat the whole bloody thing when it tastes so good! Like I said before we got pizza last night, and unfortunately there's left overs, so I'll have that for lunch and hopefully burn off some of it through swimming :p

Today I feel really tired, I went to bed at 3am last night, and I woke up at 8 something am! >< It sucks how I can't sleep in anymore, even if I do stay up ridiculously late ... to me that doesn't make sense. But I think in part it's because my bedroom is way too bright in the morning, I need to get curtains, but the window is soooo big it'll be expensive. Ah well, being tired won't stop me from swimming today!

So today was kind of ok. I went swimming with my bf for over an hour, then I did some DDR a few hours later for half an hour. I do more exercising during the week, the weekends are more for resting but still doing something. Swimming would have been a better workout if I could swim better period. I mean, I can kinda swim, but not efficiently or anything.

The part that's not so ok was the pizza. You know, you can treat yourself to something which is cool, but pizza... if you don't overeat it, there's tons of leftovers! So, I had leftovers for lunch and supper and there's still some left. HOLY! I mean, I used to eat 4 pieces of pizza, now I stop myself at 2... so it's good in that way, it just prolongs the pizza eating until other days is all. I'll be glad when it's all gone! But, I'm sure it won't be long until I want more, but I won't get anymore for quite a long time.

So, my sister wants to make a weight loss poster for me. I don't know if it'll get to poster form, but she has some 'good' before pics and she wants to take a pic next weekend for my inbetween pics. So, if that happens and if I can get the pics on the computer then I'll post them.

Well, tomorrow is another day, and it's back to getting up ridiculously early and going to the gym before work!
