Ripped

I dunno what I originally said here.

Pretty sure it was something about how I wanted to be ripped.

I'm not.
Ripped.
For the record.

I started at ~170. My current weight is ~140. I stalled at 140 for, like, a year and have recently re-committed to getting to goal. Trying to reach 130.

My body fat is a ridiculous 30% and I want to get to 20% so I'm lifting weights to get there. Changing my body composition will help me lose inches, gain strength and be healthier overall.

Also, my cholesterol should have me six feet under. Working on that. Means I'm eating all sorts of things without much bad cholesterol and avoiding processed sugar.

Today was a good day. I ate well and worked out and it all felt great.

protein shake
plain yogurt w/ berries
salmon
air popped corn
a light beer

1 hr elliptical

Going forward, I won't list details unless I've gone 'round the bend in some way. I just need this daily reminder to hold myself accountable.

Another banner day. Ate well, 1 hr on the elliptical. Feels especially satisfying staying on track during the holidays.

Staying on track during the holidays is so tough! I can't even do that because I'm invited to dinner parties everywhere :(

Merry Christmas!

I consumed about 300 calories more than normal, which is great for the holiday. I didn't exercise, but I planned this as my day off. I'm aiming to work out 6 days a week. New Year's day is my next day of rest.

Great day as far as calories, consumed less than usual to compensate for 2 things: 1) went hiking (or should I say strolling) for an hour rather...a lighter workout than usual 2) plan on consuming more alcohol than my standard 1 light beer

No workout today. I was sore from yesterday's hike and lazy. I ate too little, maybe 800 calories. My tummy was feeling full all day, maybe b/c I didn't expend any energy. Every day isn't a banner day. Looking forward to tomorrow!

What a difference a day makes. I felt so much better today. I ate well: spinach, tomato soup, salmon, protein shake. Elliptical 1 hr this morning and a half hour in the evening.

looks like you had a good day, well done :)

Thanks for the encouragement Trusyvler! So far so good.

Today I did an hour on the elliptical. I wanted to work out twice today but may push that to tomorrow. I ate well today. I try not to eat after 7pm b/c I don't want to zombie grub (eating while sleepy), but today I had a 300 calorie snack around 7:15pm, because I hadn't eaten enough today. It's not a huge deal but consistency is my friend and I want to call out when I'm inconsistent.
I'm not doing my weekly weigh in tomorrow, rather Thursday morning as I've decided to enter the New Year's challenge.

I have also entered the new year challenge, although I have been maintaining it would be nice to get a bit lower.

Week 3, day 1. Another consistent day. Exercised an hour. Had spinach, tomato soup, salmon, strawberries, popcorn and a light beer. A little over stuffed this evening, due to noshing in front of the tv. Note to self, continue to pay attention to when I'm Full.

Posting early today as I had to weigh in this morning for the New Year's challenge. Lost 5 lbs in week two, so I'm at 162. That's not an expectation going forward as I know weight drops quickly initially.
Edit to add that I ate well and exercised an hour.
Found out my gym is open tomorrow. I'd planned to take the day off but I may rethink that.
Happy New Year!

A great start to 2010. I exercised and I ate well. Taking better care of myself makes me feel...grateful!

An hour exercise and solid nutrition...all greens, berries, non fat plain yogurt and fish. Nothing processed, boxed, or preserved. Most of my days look like this and I am glad to be treating myself well.

Another good day. One by one, they are going to add up.

Tomorrow is supposed to be my rest day. We'll see.

Today was my day to rest and that's exactly what I did. I ate okay...though I was lacking on fruits and veggies. I had salmon, baked sweet potato fries, popcorn and my light beer. In nearly 3 full weeks this is the first day I didn't have enough fruits/veggies. So, not bad. I took my vitamins.

This sounds pretty good for a "day off". The salmon is awesome, cant beat it. I like it because it keeps me filled for the rest of the night if I have it for dinner. Lately ive been keeping a bowl of fruit in the fridge, just so I can snack guiltfree and not binge later on from ravenous hunger haha.

How are your gym visits going?

Andy the gym visits are going well. I've just added a bit of interval training, normally am on the elliptical since it's low impact. I'd like to sprinkle in two-a- days, twice a week at some point if I continue feeling good. I haven't been lifting weights and don't plan to introduce it for another few weeks.

Today was a solid 1 hour workout and a great day nutritionally, with my 5-6 servings of fruits/veggies and my favorite...salmon! Agreed, that protein hits the spot!
