Rewind - lost 180lb, regained 55 over time, heading back!

Congrats on a solid month.
And it's only 2/3rd's over!
Best of luck, doll; Merry Christmas to you.
Thanks! Missed your post earlier somehow (tired?)

6kg in a month is awesome hun! You're doing so well!!! Don't worry about not being able to keep it up eventually, focus on the now, and cross that bridge when it comes :)
Oh yeah, Just starting always helps drop a lot also probably. So long as i get my goal eventually im all good!

Congratz wishes! I'm not surprised at all though. You've conquered this battle before and will again. Alot of athletes go through this recovering from sports injuries. I still see you as a pro at this that I can come to for advice. Great that we're all gonna be well in gear bringing in the new year :) zomg a rhyme....I'm gonna stop now :X

I dunno about a pro at it, i found it just as hard to buckle down and stick with it and had a good few failed attempts before properly starting again.
I do have the advantage that i already have the knowledge on how to do it, and the better methods etc that I never had the first time around, so i don't have the fumbling i had the first couple months last time.
Unfortunately I have the disadvantage that I can't exercise at all, so i need to make sure i eat often, and the right foods, plus drink a metric ton of food to keep the metabolism going fast.

AND THE BEST THING EVER HAPPENED TODAY! I FINISHED WORK FOR THE NEXT 3 WEEKS!!!!!!!! :D :D:D:D:D

Now THAT is exciting! I'd be doin handstands, all 345 pounds of me, if I had 3 weeks off, lol Got anything fun planned during that time?

OMG ! I totally can do hand stands now too! :D And press ups! seriously, its the small things like that, and being able to sit comfy in the backseat of a car that you appreciate when you come down from the mid 300s!
using the small towel when having a shower (and only one of them), having the towel meet! using public bathrooms comfortably, being able to sit in plastic lawn chairs without them breaking! tieing your shoelaces in the middle not at one side because you cant reach past your tummy etc :D
I have lists of things i love doing :D

Anyway, i hate being bored and doing nothing, i have like a super mega list.
  1. Fix cat collar and fence so we can open the doors on hot days again - DONE!
  2. Fix my new fixie bike (modern one)
  3. Fix repaint the older fixie bike (retro style) - Need parts/money done a good lot of it though
  4. Ride my new Beach cruiser bike! - DONE
  5. add AV in on my car stereo - DONE
  6. go mountain biking with kids - DONE
  7. Go Carting with kids
  8. Finish my Personal Training course things and catch up - DONE
  9. make some outdoor seats with the frames i have - UNABLE, too costly/hard - probably will need to buy new ones
  10. Spend a week in Christchurch with just hubby whilst kids are on camp
  11. Weed and Feed the front lawn so it looks nice :D
  12. Learn to play Ukulele - DONE

I have more, i just cant recall em right now, i'm compiling a list.
Not sure if i will be on again today or tomorrow, its Xmas eve here, and i have shopping to do! Not a huge amount, but tomorrow my son will be over, and it will be awesome catching up with him too (his birthday is Xmas day!)

I so relate to all those, I could list a bunch more. I read stuff where people say love the skin your in, love and accept your body no matter what your size. I just can't apply that to myself at THIS weight. Oh don't get me wrong, I like who I AM on the inside but there's no accepting 345 pounds on a 5' frame. I'll be so glad when I can function like a regular person again....like not having to embarrass myself when I go out with family and friends asking for a table or a booth that moves cuz I don't fit because my stomach is so big. And beyond all that, just being able to put on a cute outfit that fits and know I look halfway decent. Yea I can't wait :)

So what's a fixie bike btw?

Wow sounds like you got loads of stuff to do :O
Wish I could claim the same. I guess it would help to keep my mind off food :-/ Happy holidays!

I fully understand. Even after you loose the weight, it takes time for your inner idea of how big you are to change. I found I would often walk past shop windows and notice somebody in the window reflection following me, turn around and then realize its just me. Same thing happened with mirrors in the shops etc. Going through gaps thinking you wont fit, and you dont touch the sides. Opening the car door when somebody parked right up close and still being able to get out!

As for a fixie, its a bike with no gears and one fixed gear. If you pedal backwards, you go backwards. If you are cycling and stop pedaling, the pedals will push your feet around. Often you can go without brakes and just use backward pressure to stop it. Usually they have flat bar handlebars (like a mountain bike)

However, whilst thats the definition of fixie, what it REALLY is, is a show bike. its designed to look good. I have 2, one is going for a retro look, the other is going for a modern look.

Here are a couple of pictures

I have finished one of my tasks already! Cat collar has been modified and attached, now we can open windows and doors again to cool off :D

So! Xmas, how did i do?
I thought pretty well! I'm so used to multiple small meals I just wasn't hungry at all. I allowed myself a waffle for breakfast, but only had syrup, fruit and yoghurt on it. After eating the single Waffle i was super full, as if I had eaten a massive meal.
Just before Lunch I had a small slice of banana cake (it was my oldest sons birthday), and one of those later on. Lunch was pretty much a couple slices of ham, next to nothing.
I had one xmas mince pie thingee at around dinner, and a late dinner which i was co-erced into eating by friends who turned up. I made sure every other one in the house was gone before i ate it so i wouldnt eat more (i love the things! i wasnt sure i could help myself!).
Anyway, dinner was normal dietary food , and not a huge amount of it, i wasnt particularly hungry, everyone was happy to skip desert. I guess i went maybe 600-800 calories over normal? Not to shabby!
Was a quiet day in general, spent the morning digging a trench and laying a wire in it for the cats electric fency thingee, now i can let the cat out and he wont run away again (horay!). Went for a mildly slow 15 minute bike ride with my daughter, workmates turned up in the evening to help eat dinner, and a family member on husbands side dropped in for coffee.

Sounds like a nice day :) I went over yesterday but not too bad. Since I'm working today and taking my food hopefully I can stay in line today. I don't know that I've seen a fixie bike here. Happy Birthday to your son! Does he mind having his birthday on xmas?

Heading out to do some swimming today i think, should be fun!

Hey wishes,

sounds like a nice xmas day. I had a lovely one too with family and food and fun. We played quite a bit outside with balls and things, but I had my share of xmas wine and food :)

I know that one day won't matter as long as I get back on the plan today. I'm back at work so that makes things easier for me.

Hope you have a lovely swim.

catch you later

anna

Excellent! good to hear others have had great Xmas, i see you have the Boxing Day jiggles down your way today? Friend posted pics of a trashed booze shop with broken bottles all over the floor, luckily she still managed to get her wine :D

Merry Christmas wishes! Looks and sounds like you had a good one :) Don't worry too much about the overnight gain - move on from Christmas, it's just one day ;) You'll probably be back down again by tomorrow morning!

nope, still up today! i think my period is due and its water weight. that better be gone by weds weight in for December challenge lol :D
Diet is back on track and good, almost fell off yesterday though, leftovers were calling my name and lots of cookies etc :D

:( That sucks. Guess we'll have to wait til Wednesday to find out! I'm up too this morning after a horrible Boxing Day binge, but getting back on track and hoping that Friday will finally give me a loss! WE CAN DO THIS! :D

omg ! noooo! not a boxing day binge!!! mind you, once the leftovers are gone, they are gone! I sent mine home with guests after xmas day, which saved me some hassles :)

I'm back up on the mega water, and diet front today. totally excited now about my week away with the husband! we leave on 9th and come back on the 14th. super duper excited!!!!

Hello again!

Hi Wishes!
I met you back when I started here in Dec 2006/Jan 2007. You were very inspiring then - and now!
I have been back here on and off for the past few years. I lost 30lbs within a few months last time, but since then I have had another baby (although he is now 2). I'm having a really hard time getting back at it. I'm heavier then I was when I first came here, and need to drop the weight!
Hopefully now that I see another familiar face again, I will be more inclined to visit here more often and get inspired.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and all the best in the New Year!
Jenn

Heya! I do remember you! :D

Good luck getting back on the wagon! i'm doing it yet again (only i had surgery and knee injuries not babies), though this time i have less to loose :D

I haven't seen anyone else on here from before.....
Hope all are well.
Both my boys were c-sections. But I can't use that as an excuse (they're 6 and 2).
Going to try and get on track today... :)
Looking forward to following your journey again!
