Thanks Cate. To be fair, it's not all her fault - and this is probably where most of the stress is coming from :( I need to stop trying to be helpful though, I keep messing it up and making things worse :banghead: Anyway, providing tomorrow goes okay, it should be all over then.

Now they've finished pouring pints over one another our boys have shown a bit of spirit... although a part of me suspects the Aussies have been asked to give them a chance to keep the public interested :oops:
 
I wonder if it's the stress that is causing the appetite issues? Hopefully some time away will help clear the air. Good job on the steps!
 
Losing your appetite over stress isn´t healthy but it happens. And this one sounds like a situation that´ll pass if you stay firm (with both Girl and yourself) for a while.

The situation with the girl sounds difficult. I am not aware of the backstory, but it is obviously stressful for you. Sometime you have to be firm with people even when you feel awful about it. It is difficult, but your'e not alone. Most of us will experience a similar predicament at some point. For what its worth you have my support.
 
Just a quick visit today, I'll try and get around my usual diaries tomorrow :)

Steps good, calories ok, appetite slowly returning, final lingerings of manflu passing and cold sore healing. Its all good :D

Just hope the tourists can give the barmy army something to cheer about Cate! I've promised my local club I'll make a comeback this summer, I've not played regularly for about 3 or 4 years or so but I don't know how I feel about it to be honest; on the one hand it's good exercise but on the other so easy to slip into bad habits, ie naughty food in the tea, beers and snacks after the game or worse, a post match meal :oops: Maybe I'll give it a try and see how it goes.

Today has been pretty good. Xmas shopping is pretty much there now, just a couple of vouchers and the wrapping left to do. Food came in around 1500 cals and steps were over 15k.

Thanks Clackedy. It is but they give us waaaay too much law to study and not enough practical skills. I think they've been a bit lazy really, they keep lumping us surveyors in with the construction managers and contract administrators. I mean it's interesting enough but... well an employer would expect a surveyor to be able to survey stuff, not draw up watertight legal contracts o_O
 
In general I think food options in sports-related circumstances are getting better, but... pub competitions sound like a very likely exception.

Hmm, not so sure LaMa lol. I googled 'cricket tea' and found this image which largely sums it up haha!

The article goes on to list sandwiches, sausage rolls, pork pies, scotch eggs and quiche as staples of a cricket tea... that's not to mention the bountiful amounts of cake. I'd definitely agree with them too lol. I think I'd have to take my own food with me :cool:

ps, that pic is definitely not me, or anyone I know. And no Cate, it's not the England team either o_O:D

1700 calories in and just a fraction over 10k steps, so both goals met again today :)
 
Cricket is the most watched sport in our household lol, however my husband is a bit of a cheat with supporting teams, he is a tri citizen, so if Australia, England or New Zealand are playing each other his team always wins lol

I like watching a bit of T20 but, and I'm going to try to not sound too English here, it's just not cricket. I was going to say there's nothing better than a good 5 day test going down to the wire... but I haven't seen one of those just lately o_O

Today: pushed myself to eat 2000 calories as I haven't done that for a few days now. Got lots of uni work done at work because I was left in charge :p so spent some time this evening wrapping presents before heading out to push my steps up to 13k
