Spent most of the day behind my desk today, almost finished the assignment though - just a bit of tweaking and referencing to do tomorrow. Took a brief walk earlier so I've done around 4k steps according to my fitbit, although I haven't worn it around the house... so at least 50 steps more I reckon haha! I haven't counted any calories today either, in fact I might take a couple of days off from that while I revise for my exam on monday. I'll stay mindful of what I'm consuming though.

It was bitterly cold out earler, just from the wind really rather than air temperature. The storm has pretty much passed now, so all is calm again :)

While I was on my break from working I had a think about my week off next week, if the weather is ok I might go and take a walk somewhere totally different. And I mean totally lol - I might drive to the seaside and spend a day walking there. will be a good 2 hours plus drive, but it'll be nice. mind, it'll probably rain now I've said that lol

I had the same problem last night with sleeping cos of the wind, I have some fence panels in my garden that haven't been put in the concrete posts yet and they kept banging backwards and forwards. Hopefully the winds will be over soon, gets frustrating as hell with long hair XD

driving to the seaside sounds like a nice day!

Taking a day or two off from tracking may give you a little mental break.

Sat on the top floor of the uni library most of today with my friend, so I volunteered to do the drinks runs and also go down to the ground floor to check books back in. She told me off as she wanted to get steps in too but I was hogging them all lol. Managed just over 13.5k steps today in the end, helped by the fact that I left my phone in the car and had to go back for it haha! Didn't even attempt to count calories, but probably in the 2800 range at a guess.

Weather for the seaside next week currently cloudy, breezy and cold. Pretty much usual British seaside weather then  Good for walking, but I might not bother taking my camera.

You step hog, lmao! :smilielol5:But hey, good job getting in the steps, even if it meant being a little selfish!

Please take the camera even if it's crappy - it may be the closest to the British seaside I ever get ...

Friend could have come along if they´d wanted to :) Well done getting those steps in! Stormy weather by the seaside, walk for a couple of hours and then crash into a creaky, seemingly improvised café (which can´t be because these things need permits and the ones that stay open over winter must surely be the most permanent ones) for a hot meal is an amazing use of a winter day.

Spent another couple of days behind the desk. We're almost there now, by Monday afternoon it'll all be over for a while lol. Not many steps today as I only wore my fitbit for a short time and totally forgot to put it on when i did take a short walk this afternoon. oh well!

Not even thinking about calories today as I went out for lunch for my son's birthday. I didn't overdo it though, stayed pretty sensible on my main and opted to avoid the almost-foot high cake slices they had on offer

Looking forward to getting out and about next week. The weather forecast is looking pretty mixed and keeps changing but I'll take the camera for you Jenni and get the best pics I can. Somewhere in north wales is where I'd like to go, I have a destination in mind, but I'll have to make a final decision the night before I think. Getting soaked is fine until you have to sit in damp clothes for a 2hr drive home lol. I'm pretty central in England so I can be flexible in my choice of destination :)

That'll be tuesday or wednesday as I've nothing planned in the evenings so can make a long day of it. thursday and friday I have plans so I'll be staying more local but I'm still hoping to do some walking in new places

Good job on being sensible during your son's birthday! I always struggle in restaurants (and at parties) to make good choices.

Well done Stan on resisting the cake. I actually don't like cake or cream luckily.
I'm looking forward to the photos too :)

Moar pictures please! Well done skipping dessert. It´s amazing how many calories can jump into your mouth eating out. My favorite example because I used to love it and lets me check the calories online: the chocolate cake at McDoodoo (I´m assuming it´s an international thing: basically a brownie with chocolate fudge on top) has 811 calories. For a square that´s smaller than the palm of my hand!

Thanks all :)

Back on the calorie counting from tomorrow. I couldn't decide on a walking destination, it was between two locations. I know them both a little bit, but not very well so It'd be a bit of exploring on both really. Anyway, as the weather is reasonable I've decided to stay over in a hotel so I can do both lol. It's about as out-of-season as you can get so the room is dirt cheap :D Hopefully plenty of miles and some good pictures to follow.

Hey Stan, I've been reading your journey and Its very inspiring keep it up an I look forward to reading more. Ps. Good job on restraining yourself on cake I know it's a difficult thing to do especially during a birthday.

Lucky you with your nice weather. It's been about 5 degrees F for me (-15 C) and spitting ice. I miss walking outside. :p

Was that the bigger car an SUV? That is absolute madness!
