Regaining my life - Jeremy's Diary

Jeremy, I've been following your journal for about 2 months now. Sorry I haven't posted sooner, but I just wanted to say 'OUTSTANDING WORK.'

I had a question for ya, too....

During your first 2 months or so, did you ever experience a week or two where you wouldn't lose anything? I'm talking about eating right, exercising like hell every day (basically having a healthy caloric deficit), and then weighing in at the end/beginning of the week and not seeing *ANY* change?

I don't want to say it's a plateau yet for me, BUT I have had this happen before and it gets annoying! Anywho, let me know if you still check in and read the posts here!

My first 4 weeks, I noticed that I had lost about 4-5 lbs a week, then all of the sudden.....bam. It stopped. I'm hoping my body starts letting it go here shortly!

honestly i couldnt tell u because i weighted so much my scale didnt work and i didnt know my numbers until i hit under 350. but i hadnt hit a plateau until recently but i dont go by numbers now, i go by looks and clothes.

and an update to my journey to becoming a fireman. i had my prep class today for the agility test.. and I KICKED ASS I had the fastest times on 3 of the activities and the second fastest on the rest. honestly i was shocked at myself because i was beating guys who "looked" to be in better shape.. i demolished them

Jeremy,

Thanks for the reply. For some reason (and I know I'm not the only one), it seems like my body will hold onto the pounds for a week or two, then, overnight, somehow or another, I'll lose a few. The body is amazing.

Congratulations on your progress with becoming a hose-dragger :) I know you will find much fulfillment and excitement in that career. When I moved out on my own after high school to go to college, I roomed with a guy who was going for his paramedic so that he could do the full-time FF thing.... we made good room mates. Keep your nose to the grindstone and give it 110% (which, judging by your weight loss success, I don't think you'll have ANY problems with).

I'm in law enforcement (hehe).... and speaking of "going by looks and how clothes fit"..... We were issued new uniforms (BDUs), and the size that I had ordered were too small -- I could barely squeeze into them and walking/running/wresting around in them was next to impossible.... that was 6 weeks ago. I can now COMFORTABLY fit into them and need a belt to keep 'em up! So, obviously that is a great indicator of progress.

lol nice bro, my brother is actually a cop lol and im going FD so its kinda funny.. he says the joke do you know why god made policemen.. so firemen could have heroes lol...

but go youtube search fireman vs policeman... lol its awesome!!

really though the numbers game can fool you.. and depending on ur weight training its just a mind set thing sometimes. and if u see that the numbers didnt go down after a hard week of working out u could get down.. so its just easier not to sometimes and just keep working and hte results will come!

Thanks for the advice, man.

Yea, regarding the whole "cops vs. ff's" thing... it's all in good humor. Everyone likes to give each other crap..... and BROTHERS who are cops/firefighters ought to be hilarious! :)

Keep us updated on your progress with the hiring process..... I know for a FACT that they can be long, tiring, and a major pain in the ass.

Dirty Mal says with a lecherous leer -firemen have "hoses" but policemen have handcuffs and know how to use them :D

Nice job on having the heart of an athlete.. that's fantastic :D

Absolutely Inspiring Diary.

Well done bud.

When you get to your ideal weight keep a watch on things, and I hope not to see you back here again trying to loose weight.

All the best from the U.K
