Getting out sounds like a good idea any day.
I rather enjoyed listening to Neil deGrasse Tyson taking the new Alien film apart but it's the kind of thing where the trailer alone can give me nightmares :D

Thanks for the warning, I am supposed to go see Alien tonight and really not all that interested!
Good for getting out of the house though!

The friend i went with; she liked it. Im a big sci-fi fan so i tend to b pretty critical of them.
Hope u have fun

lol That must be it!
What's funny - is I will watch all sorts of bad "mystery/thriller" movies and will always simply say, 'I've seen worse' but sci-fi, I have a hard time not being overly critical.

I did watch Killer Clowns from Outerspace this past week, no complaints, just all out laughter lol!

Yea im bad about watching the scifi movies on netflix. A few are mainstream but most are b- moviesx10

I found a recipe in my grandmother's recipe box for sausage and barley soup. Never tried barley before so I'll give it a try. It's a german recipe so I'll c if i can lighten it up a bit calorie wise. That and im not a huge leek or nutmeg fan so gonna make more of a me version of the dish. Im not sure how much i can lighten it because sausage and barley are both huge calorie culprits.

How did it taste? I think Sunflower mentioned getting to know and like barley soup a while back and I can´t remember it being very calorie dense. Sausage tends to be intense in flavor so simply using less of it (and maybe adding some more veg instead) can lighten up a dish a lot without influencing the taste too much. Also: I´m not the biggest nutmeg fan but I do love leek, so could I maybe have your gran´s Graupensuppe recipe?

Omg it was so good. No most of the cals came from the 7 ounces of sausage and 80 grams of barley. I cleaned it up some by taking out the bacon and potato. I used some rendered bacon fat to sweat the veggies but thats it. I swapped out the leek with orange bell pepper and i used a can of mixed veggies to bulk it up abit.so it still had some potato but not the amount it called for. I took out the nutmeg and opted for smoked paprika. It turned out really good. Maybe next time ill use a chicken sausage to cut some cals out of it.
Really the calories werent bad because it made two huge bowls full.

:) Don´t bother about the translation (assuming it´s in German), unless someone else is interested as well.
