Really going to lose the weight for good

I went to the store and bought some extra firm organic tofu to mix into a stir fry I was making... not too impressed and it didn't even have that much protein any way. It had 11grams/serving which is ok, but my fat free yogurt has 11grams and it is oh so much tastier! So my interest in tofu lasted exactly one meal. I do like it when I get it from the chinese restaurant, but as DH (thanks purpleshirt!) pointed out they probably fry it first or something. Oh well I guess I will stick to skim milk, ff yogurt, fish and chicken to get my protein in. I also bought some chicken, sweet peppers and 2% shredded cheese, I think I will have chicken quesadillas for dinner tomorrow. I am still kind of hungry after dinner, I didn't eat much of the stir fry mostly b/c the stir fry sauce was too salty and I don't want to retain a bunch of water, especially when I am weighing in in 2 days. Maybe I will make a smoothie as a snack for tonight: Skim milk, ff yogurt, and frozen mixed berries, seems like a healthy option to me.

MMMMMMM all this talk of food has me hungry! haha It's a quarter til 1 AM my time and you are making me want Chinese! hahaha

I feel like anything made at a Chinese restaurant is fried and oh so good. I love stir fry! Try going to Whole Foods or any local health restaurant and look at their stir fry sauce. I know Whole Foods has a reduced sodium sauce that is awesome. Soy sauce and other Chinese sauces are salty by nature, and it is tough finding the right one, but once you do it is so rewarding to have great home cooked meal!

Good luck with your weigh in, it sounds like you are doing great and will definitely be happy with the results! Good luck!

Hey Buckeye thanks for stopping by! I was rereading my last post from yesterday and I think you can tell I was still hungry! The whole post was about food! I did end up having that smoothie, and then a cup of chamomile tea before bed.

I just did some great toning and strength training, feeling pretty good right now. I have started noticing two changes in my body, first I can actually see the beginnings of muscle definition in my arms and legs, yeah! I forgot what it was like to actually have definition, pretty awesome.
The other thing I noticed was that my chest is shrinking, I had to hook my bra tighter today. I always lose weight there first, why? I wish I could lose some a** before boobs, but it never works out that way. No one ever says, ugh I feel like such a fat boob, or I am really dragging boob today, we all want to dump the a** first, it is so unfair. On the bright side, since that is always the first thing to go for me, hopefully the rest will start to come off soon.

Is it a good thing that your chest is shrinking? I'd be thrilled. I"m a stinking DDD. Yuck. So I'm the exception, I'd rather lose boobs than a** LOL

And the rest is going to be coming off very soon. You're working so hard

I just meant of all of the things that I want to lose, my chest is the least of my worries. It's annoying to me that the part of me that I am least worried about is the part that I lose first...it figures. I know that the rest of me should start to follow soon, I hope:)

I had an awesome sandwich for lunch today- one whole wheat, light flat-out flat bread, some romaine leaves, cut up tomato, small amount of feta, 3 oz of white meat chicken, and 1Tbsp of light balsamic vinaigrette dressing. It was so good! I also had some watermelon cut up on the side. The flat out bread is awesome, it has 9 grams of protein, 9 grams of fiber and only 90 calories! Hello new favorite bread! I am doing really well with getting protein in and keeping the fat intake down the last few days. Hopefully it will show tomorrow when I weigh myself.

DH is planning a secret date for us Friday night. All I know is that I have to be ready to leave the house at 7pm, he has arranged a sitter for our son and instructed me to be hungry because there is going to be good food. Also he told me we would be out really late. I'm intrigued, he doesn't usually plan stuff like this, and very rarely tries to surprise me. I think the last time he tried to surprise me was before our son was born (he is 4 now). Our anniversary is this weekend, 7 years of being married! It sure doesn't feel that long, which is a good thing:)

That bread does sound good. I'm eating this 35 calorie bread which has a ton of fiber but nothing else, and it tastes just like how I would assume 35 calorie wheat bread would taste haha What is the brand name of your bread? I might give it a shot.

Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow and have a wonderful/great/fun time with your husband!!! Sounds intriguing, you'll have to fill us in on Saturday!!

Ok, so I weighed myself today... I lost 1 pound this week. I am pleased that I lost something, but I really thought I was going to have lost 1.5-2 pounds. I am not going to complain, 1 pound is still progress. I wish you could lose weight as fast and easily as you gain it!

Last night DH told me he could tell I was losing weight b/c he could see the difference in my face. I have been doing good with working out and I can tell a difference in my belly, it is getting smaller. Maybe I need to build some more muscle before I start losing more than a pound a week.

BUCKEYE: The bread I had yesterday is called The Original Carbdown, Light Flat Out Wraps, they are actually a wrap, you can't make toast or anything with it, but you can make really tasty wraps, and last night I cut one in half topped it with 2% cheese, chicken and sweet pepper, put the other half on and baked it as an oblong quesadilla. Tasty!

I have to go get my butt on the treadmill now, my MIL is coming over at 10 and I am taking her shopping and to lunch as part of her mothers day present. Funny her mothers day gift from her son is lunch and shopping with me! She only ever had 2 boys, so she loves having some "girl" time.

Yum, bread. Congrats on the pound lost! That's very neat that your husband can tell you're losing. Are you taking measurements, or pictures or anything? I kept reading how people regretted not doing it, so now I am. I'm just not publishing my measurements lol

I have some pictures that are less than flattering of me, but I have not taken any purposeful before pics, I keep thinking I should. Maybe I will this weekend, but like you, I am going to keep them private, until I am awesome looking then I can say "can you believe that this hottie ever looked like that?":)

So went out on date with DH last night...awesome! First he took me to The Melting Pot, if you've never been, it is a fantastic fondue restaurant, we ordered "The Big Night Out" it only seemed appropriate. It came with 4 courses- 1. melted cheeses with bread, veggies and apples to dip in it, 2. salad with mixed greens, 3. the main event with a broth that you cook your food in, we had lobster, steak, chicken and shrimp. 4. My favorite was dessert, it was called the flaming turtle, it was milk chocolate, carmel and pecans melted in a pot, it came with marshmallows, pound cake, cheesecake, and fruit to dip. So good! I love that restaurant, but it since it is far away from us and expensive we only make it there about every 2-3 years, which is good for my diet. After dinner we went to the Second City, it is a live sketch comedy troupe, they were so funny. It was sweet that DH planned that part b/c we went to the Second City in Toronto on our honeymoon, so it was very sentimental for me.

Well yesterday counts as my big splurge day, so I am back on track today. I will do my weights today and walk/run tomorrow. Being out last night surrounded by skinny women wearing cute clothes out on dates, helped increase my resolve to lose the weight. I don't want to be DH's fat wife, I want to be the HOT wife!

So one of my sisters had a bike that she never uses so I asked her if I could use it and she just gave it to me. DH has been riding his bike with my dad every weekend and he keeps telling me how much fun he is having. They usually go about 25 miles each day. They are trying to get ready for a 100 mile ride, DH, my dad and FIL are all going together.

So anyhow I haven't ridden a bike in like 15 years or so, but I figured it would be a fun way to add some activity to our family weekends. We went to the store and first thing bought a new seat for my bike. We went to Dunhams and I was cracking up b/c they had bike seats made by La-Z-Boy. It was super cushy though so I bought it. Then we got me a helmet, and we bought my son a "little rider" attachment for DH's bike. It is a child size tandem bike attachment that attaches easily to an adult bike. Basically all the kiddo has to do is hold on and DH does all the work. It took us forever to put the bike attachment together...I forgot how much I hate putting stuff like bikes together. Then we went out for a ride.
The bike my sis gave me is a 12 speed mountain bike, but I totally forgot what gear you are supposed to be in for going up hills so I just left everything the way it was when I got it. I almost had a stroke going up the big hills by my house! It was so hard, I thought I was never going to be able to enjoy riding a bike, but then DH helped me figure out the gears and then it was soooo much easier! We had a great time. I am so excited that we all have bikes now. I think we can be so much more active this summer b/c of them.

Congrats on the loss! I hope I can show one on Tues. Wow what a fantastic evening your DH planned for your anniversary. Reading about all the food had me drooling and mentally figuring out how many days I'd have to eat next to nothing to make up for it. LOL I would do the same thing on my anniversary though. Bikes are fun. I have a mountain bike that I love to ride, but don't get much of a chance to. Enjoy those rides and thing about how you'll be teaching your son about staying active. Have a great rest of the weekend.

I messed up last night, DH wanted to have mexican and there is this place that we used to always have deliver before I was trying to lose weight and it sounded so good. We ordered and I had what I always used to have and it was way too much. But somehow I just ate it all, I guess b/c that's what I always did, which is why I now have so much weight to lose. So dumb, today I feel all nasty and bloated, the food was so salty. I felt nasty when I went to bed last night and was kicking myself for being to stupid. When I am eating right I never go to bed feeling overly full and sick, and I don't wake up the next day feeling the same way. I am going to get over this and move on, onto the treadmill that is. I have promised myself to remember this next time I am tempted to eat garbage. I hope everyone else did better than I did this weekend.

Hey funmom just checking in! Your dinner date sounds so fun, the melted cheese dish sounded TO DIE FOR! Cheese is my weakness, I swear it was put on this planet just for me sometimes...one can dream...

I know what you mean about cheating, it is the worst feeling in the world. But don't worry, go back and read some of your posts you have been doing AWESOME lately! Seriously, your work ethic is one I hope to have. You have motivation and drive, and don't let one day get you feeling down! Plus, it sounded like you had a great workout on the bike ride, and I'm sure you'll make it up in working out this week.

Good luck tomorrow and have a good day!!

Hey I didn't have that great of a weekend either. Not quite that bad, but bad enough to stall things. if you have a chance, go check my thread. I found and awesome thread on here that really gave me some insight. "Fear of Thin"

You'll be back on track today. I know you will, I can tell just by the way you posted about what happened. You're doing fantastic

It's so easy to do, and you have a great attitude, to just get back on the horse. Maybe next time you feel like overindulging, you can remind yourself how absolutely crappy you feel after? That sometimes works for me, but sometimes even then I don't care lol.

Date night out sounds fantastic. I know how important those nights out alone are. I love my kids and wouldn't change a thing, but sometimes I wish I could go back to the pre kid days for a day just to relish having a day without constantly thinking about them and making sure they're ok lol

Anyway, let's have a kick butt day today. Are you working out?

Hey everyone, sorry I was MIA yesterday. I had a long day at work and didn't get home until close to 9 last night. I was too tired to log on.

Thank you for all of your words of encouragement, I'm back on track! I loaded my house up with healthy food and I am ready to start losing weight again. I am going to have a tasty salad for lunch and tilapia with steamed swiss chard for dinner.

I am doing my weight training today and getting on the treadmill tomorrow. I somehow managed to hurt my leg this weekend. I don't know how I did it, I woke up Sunday and the inside part of my lower left leg was killing me between my ankle and my knee. It hurts to walk, it feels like I pulled something, but I don't remember doing anything out of the ordinary, so frustrating. I am trying to let my leg rest so I don't do any real damage to myself.

So I got up today with zero motivation to workout, but I figured I would log on and see what everyone is up to. I checked out a few postings and was like, man, everyone else is keeping up with their workouts. I need to get down there on that treadmill, so I am on my way there now. Thanks for providing the motivation everyone!

That's one of the reasons why I love this website. I hope you had a great workout! :)
