Rah's Diary started May 07

Oh and i forgot to add we are taking the dog to the beach today as we are both off work
so i am going to put on the sports bra so i can run and mess round without worrying about bouncing all over the place
Little changes can make a big difference!
My head is really in the right place for this

The day at the beach wasnt as good as we hoped it was nice and sunny when we left our house but when we got the beach 40min drive it was raining, windy and not very nice so we didnt really go on it, we did however go for a walk through a national trust site called formby point basically forest like quite hilly and lots of red squirrels to see was good running up and down there after the dog

The dog -Shankly- is an english Staffordshire Bull Terrier hes black and white very cute and very soft hes great

Well today Tuesday here the plan

2 weetabix, 250mls semi-skimmed milk, (and water to drink)
Snack
Apple
Lunch
2 slices wholemeal bread, turkey, margarine spread, fruit salad
Snack
Banana
Dinner
Pork, Jacket potato, peas and brocolli

I also have a bottle of water 2L to take to work to work my way through!!!!

Well today has been good, i have worked out how to add small amounts of extra excerise in without really noticing it
so i have been doing a 5 min walk from the carpark to my office by parking further away,(which also means stairs to get to the office as well) been using the toilets downstairs so i have to run up and down, and i have been offering to get the post and take the post its not much but more active than sitting there all day and someone else doing it!!!

Food is going good and i have not felt hungry at all
B'fast
2 weetabix, 200mls semi-skimmed milk, (and water to drink)
Snack
Apple
Lunch
2 slices wholemeal bread, tuna mayo with lettuce, fruit salad
Dinner
Jacket potato, baked beans and cheese(tiny amount)

With the water i have been drinking as well.

I am wanting things to pick on things at night even though i am not hungry i think its more wanting chocolate now i have resticted the amount i can have but i am drinking more of an evening i have a fruit squash (no added sugar) for the evenings only and finding thats helping for a bit

Still no excerise in there but i am planning on starting that next week def i figured that just getting used to eating right then adding excerise rather than doing it all in 1 go and failing (which i am not going to do)

I figured out my intake of calories and its astronomical ..but If I walk two hours a day I will walk off around or more than 1,200 calories a day ..so two hours it is!

You sound like you are starting to incorporate activities into your regular day, which is awesome ..instead of being sedentary at the office..

What do you do as a career or job?

Well I hope your doing good today and will the next day ..

Lol well to be honest it was a name from college and it was kind of like a "RAWR!" my friends used to call me saRAH i really dont know why but it stuck!!!

I have just qualified as a nurse but i am applying for jobs theres not many out there at the mo so i am working in an office for the water company processing applications to have piping replaced:- its not what i want to do and it does bore me but its paying the bills until i get a mursing job so i cant complain.

well todays meals were good until i hit dinner time as you will see

fired rice and beef in blackbean sauce,
I remembered to stay away from the battered foods (beef is in a gravy) but i forgot the fried rice i was ment to ask boiled but fried just came out and i drank loads of water with my meal but still feel a bit bad but it was so nice i am now thinking that 1 every now and again wont kill me **guilt**

but again today i have been doing the extra walking around and drinking loads of water though the day
I have been resisting sweets and chocolate and cake in work all day though so i am really proud of little me

Hi well today has been good good good

I have had the usual good meals (chicken with jacket potato for dinner)
i did have a Freddo bar which is cadbury chocolate but its like 15g or something its tiny and was better than a 35g bar and it was a gift off one of the team members so i felt bad not eating it but i did stay away from all the ther bits they had brought in (its the thing they do on a friday apparantly) so i resisted other chocolate, cakes, biscuits so really happy with myself
I will have to make sure i have enough fruit to keep me going on fridays so i never get tempted!!!

Ok well im going now my dinners ready and i will be on over the weekend at some point

You are right about little changes making huge differences. Do you have a pedometer? I never realized just how sedentary I was until I got one. I found out I usually did between 2500 and 4000 steps per day! That is so low. With my pedometer, I am more aware of my activity levels and find myself making the "little changes" like parking farther out in the lot, or parking at the opposite end of the mall from the store I want to go in, etc. I am now averaging 8500 steps a day, but doing 10,000 at least 1 day a week and not dropping below 7000, even if it means pacing an hour before bed!!!

Im having a really bad day not food wise but mentally
my best friend found out she had lost her baby at 37+3 weeks last year on this day but delivered her on the 1st Oct, and i am finding it really hard i am going the grave tomorrow with flowers so i can give them some space but they know i have been and that i am still thinking of her
Thing is that she is 35+2 weeks preg so i am flapping what if its going to happen again i know this will be nothing to what her and her husband are going though but i just cant get my mind straight
I just want to keep ringing and asking if shes ok and that the baby is still moving but i know i cant as i dont want to add to the stress shes already feeling

You dont have to reply to this i just wanted to write it down in a diary
im off to dry my eyes and the keyboard!!! lol

Well its 1lb doen but im ok with that was hoping for 2 but 1 is good as well.
starting to have the side effects of eating all this fibre and fruit but if its doing me good i dont mind i think others do LOL but tough

So today was good
weetabix & Milk
tuna, lettuce and extra light mayo (1tsp) on wholemeal bread
baked beans and a turkey burger
i had an apple, banana and some melon as well
Drinking water but i need to up my amounts i think
Any idea on how much i should be drinking in an ideal world?

Im going to the caravan this weekend which means lots of walking so that will be good and the excerise will be starting next week no excuse i have put it off long enough and need to get moving

Thanks for dropping in it really helps me with the motivation

I went away for the weekend, didnt do as well as i hoped i would we went out for an italian and i also had a few drinks over the weekend but it could of been a LOT worse so i have a few proud moments

Well i didnt weigh in as i was away so it will be this week hoping i have lost or at worse stayed the same.

My eating has been good had breakfast everyday and eating lots of fruit and veg, drinking 1.5lts of water while in work then dilute orange cordial at home for a bit of flavour,
I am thining of joining a slimming group just as more motivation really at the mo if i dont loose i will think oh well next week then have a binge I dont want to do that if i go a club i will be more determind to loose as there will be 'competition' and the knowledge everyone will know i have gained that week so really thinking about it i will do 1 more week and see how it goes just the money side of it

other than that i am good done 1 lot of excersie should be more but at least i have started it now and can only do better,

I have a sore throat and hoping i dont develop a cold or anything as the last thing i want is to be feeling rubbish so much temptation to slob out.

Right im going to get something for my throat.

Well i got the cold and felt rubbish for days but tried to stay good and did quite well.
Yesterday (wednesday) i joined a slimming group so thats it i now have extra motivation to loose so the new weigh in is a Wednesday evening, I have changed my ticker to reflect the scales at slimming but not happy as they are heavier than mine at home but i will be official weights that i record from now on.
I have also set a target of 16lb by christmas (Well Ambalove set it and i am doing it too) so my ticker shows this

I have decided to make sure i walk the dog every evening for 40 mins im not sure on the distance but will measure it soon and i will build the speed and them eventually i want to run it rather than walk,

I have a weekly plan worked out
Monday - Gym with my sister so she will drag me along kicking or screaming as i am sure i will be one day
Tuesday- Gym with my friend so she will do the same
Wednesday - Weigh in day
Thursday - i will go the gym on my own 1ce a week i can do it
Weekend - I will go for a swim and walk the dog for at least 1 hour

So thats me i will be back with an update soon....

Actually, my original bid was 15 pounds, and you called it and raised me one...but since I gained this week, I will see your 16 and ante up!!

Oh, a while back you asked about water...rule of thumb is 1/2 your weight in ounces (so 200 pounds, get 100 ounces of water). Most of us just shoot for as many as we can get, I usually get in 10-12 glasses.
 
well so far its been ok bad night saturday night (chinese) but a sneaky weight check showed no change (must of lost up to sat and piles it back on) so im going the gym and eating really good sun, mon and tue should be a loss for weds weigh in.

Im really quite scared about the weigh in really... what if i dont loose?????
At the end of the day its a good thing im thinking about it really im determind to loose where as before i would give up about now and start again on the weigh day so at least im straight back on
there

100oz I think thats about 3lt which is ok thats about what i have been having so thats good didnt want to be going really over and drown myself!!!

the 16lb challenge by xmas is on!!!

If you haven't lost on weigh in, that's ok! You just keep going anyway.

And, as for the sneaky weight check, with me it takes about 48 hrs to show a bad choice on the scale. If I eat bad on Saturday, I may stay the same until Monday and then bump up a pound or more, even if I was good on sunday. So, if it does go up in a day or so, don't get discouraged. It'll go back down.
 
Im so nervous about tomorrows weigh in its all i can think about when i look at food!!! im sure it will be different next time but my word i didnt think i would be like this but my scales are showing a loss so finger crossed
I have 1.6lb or more to aim for since Ambalove lost 1.6 this week its really good this little challenge will keep me going!!!

I will report back tomorrow with my loss (hopefully)

Im so pleased, i lost 2.5lb this week YAY ME
I tried to get on last night but there was a fault with the site :(

When i was getting weighed i was asked how many do i aim to loose for next week so i said 1lb or more but thinking about it now i want to loose 2lb each week

Im now going for a walk with the dog evry night 2 which is 1 mile and im going to start really building the gym into the week as well

Oh and i got told yesterday that i have a job interview for nursing next week so yesterday was a really good day,
Best go its now 7.25 am and i need to get a shower and ready for work in the boring office

Hi

Well been away for the week end and I think I did really well with my food intake as we normally eat whatever we feel like and eat loads of sweets or chocolate but this weekend nothing I had 1 chocolate bar and that was it and I have added it to my food diary before I used to "forget" to add things like that so I am really happy and it shows I am ready for this getting my head round it all, I am also stopping when I feel full well 9 out of 10 times anyway sometimes its too nice to leave but thats my next step.
Exercise was also good this weekend we went on 2 walks both 2 miles each on saturday and on sunday we went on 1 walk but was about 3 miles so feeling great.
While we were out I saw a sponsored run/jog/walk and was so jealous of those people running so I have decided I am going to take up running but it will be in the gym on the treadmill to start with I find it really hard outside in winter as the cold hits the back of my throat. My hubby is a good runner so once I can last a mile he said he will run with me and we can build it up over time I will be running in sponsored runs by summer.

I have a job interview tomorrow (5th Nov) for the intensive care unit at the childrens hospital so really nervous about that they have told be I wont hear anything till at least the 14th Nov so a long time to wait!!!

Well thats enough about me going on im off to do some prep for the interview
